The BBB is only the first step. The Demo_rats and the MSM want you to believe that this bill will blow up the economy due to all the extra deficit spending. What a lot of people are missing, including Elon, is the $$T’s of new revenue being invested in our country, The $$B’s of new tax revenue that will be coming in due to the latest jobs report, new taxpayers paying into the system. The Tariffs that will make it far more fair for U.S. businesses to do business around the world. Now, all the other countries will have to pay us more for having the privilege of doing business here in the U.S. (the biggest market in the world). We haven’t even talked about “Drill Baby Drill”! All the new revenue that will come in as we become the world largest supplier of oil and become oil independent once again. Lastly, congress needs to also create new bills to codify budget cuts, getting rid of the wasteful spending that Elon found.
Everyone is Crying about this or that in this bill
There are HUNDREDS of Issues addressed in it that desperately need to be enacted,
And number ONE on EVERYONEs list Should Be:
The Trump Tax Cuts (First Term) are Going to EXPIRE this year.
This Bill makes those Permanent
If it Does Not Pass, You and Me and Everyone will feel the pain,
Big Time
How ’bout we ALL Suck it In and Help get this done?
77 million of us hired President Trump to do this job for us because we trust him more than the politicians in DC. We may not like everything in the bill, the president may not like everything in the bill, Elon may not like everything in the bill but it’s a starting point, not the end product. Give the president and the bill a chance.
If Trump is for it, I’m good with it, probably the best he could do with what he had to work with. And a lot better than what the anti-Christ party would have come up with!
Unfortunately, the US cannot spend it’s way in to sanity of budgets! I remain a steadfast support of a balanced budget bill and term limits. While I think more like Elon in this debate, I also am acutely aware of #47 being our leader and we need to stand behind him. I am simply hoping that some of the pork is removed.
How can anyone form an opinion…we have no idea what is in it and what has been removed by the Senate. Defending Planned Parenthood was approved by the House but there is talk of reming it in the Senate… I absolutely do NOT want my tax dollars paying for the genocide of innocent babies any longer! Keep it in the bill and get it passed! Social Security is not an entitlement, it is my money the government took and it should not be taxed! Trump’s tax cuts need to be extended and permanent. GOP, senators, do your job!
Suggestion: Apply all DOGE findings/savings against the debt. Continue to do so until ther debt is repaid. Additionally, balance the budget with a provision for debt repayment. Welfare grants to be balanced by workfare.
We should return to 2019 pre-COVID spending and staffing levels. The bill doesn’t go far enough to cut spending, but it is a good first step. It took 60 years to get into this debt mess, and it won’t be resolved with a single bill. My resentment is toward quisling Republicans who oppose the bill and risk condemning us to the largest federal income tax in history. That will cause the Republicans to lose the midterms and the 2028 election as well. They need to remember what Reagan said: if you get 80% of what you want, take it – and come back later to get the rest.
To be honest, I don’t know a lot about it but if the leftists are crying about it, it must be good for the average person and the nation. If the leftists hate it I support it.
Cant rely on mid terms.
Have to get this passed now or Trump may never have any legislation passed through congress.
No bill is perfect. And you’re fooling yourself if you believe Congress will ever completely cut spending.
But this bill has much of what Trump promised and voters want.
And unfortunately there still must be spending to help fix the messes created by Biden and Dems.
Pass the bill.
For Pete;s sake we need “line item veto” or nothing will ever get done, it seems our so called “Representatives of the people all want THEIIR piece of the pie, or all will be damned
The BBB isn’t a perfect piece of legislation, but many of its provisions are necessary to begin to reign in the administrative state. There are other follow up pieces of legislation that will address the shortcomings in the BBB. America is in a very precarious position with the ever growing debt. We can’t afford to keep kicking this can down the road. The BBB is the beginning point and not the end game.
This is a catch 22. I fully support the tax cuts but unless othe provisions in the bill ae clarified it will take us deeper into a debt we willl never repay. The congress fighting will continue and nothing will be accomplished. As for Trump and Musk you have 2 tough cookies who will push their own ideas. Good luck America if the tax breaks are not approved. Already looking forward to the gas price increase the Dems in Caliornia approved for July. This state is a mess. .
It needs to remove funding for planned parenthood and the abortion industry
We need to stop buying votes with the federal budget. Any bill needs to project a balanced budget. I agree tax cuts are appropriate to encourage investment. AND for sure we do not need to remodel the WH ballroom. STOP spending money we don’t have.
I unequivocally support renewing the 2017 tax cuts.
However, Congress needs to make a much stronger attempt at balancing this budget.
If that takes cutting into healthcare spending, so be it but the bill as written will explode the National Debt.
There are some good things in the bill. But I agree with Elon that not enough was done to cut spending. We cannot afford to add to the debt. The country is teetering on fiscal collapse. Our Wisconsin representative, Senator Ron Johnson is correct with his assessment. His suggests returning to pre-pandemic levels. I agree. We also need to implement DOGE cuts, eliminating redundancy, fraud and misuse of taxpayer funds. There needs to be accountability and transparency how taxpayer dollars are used. We also need a balanced budget.
Of course the democraps are going to cry foul, and try to convince everyone that this is terrible bill. That’s all they know how to do. They never once said anything against their very large spending bills over the last DECADES, so I just ignore their stupidity.
I’ll look at this bill as a success in that it funds ICE, funds completion of our southern border wall, and there’s no amnesty attached for Illegal alien invading mooching newcomers. That in itself will save the American Taxpayer the daily expense of funding, which is billions.
On Trump and Musk….
Wish Trump simply said something like
“I appreciate what Elon has done for us and he has a right to his opinion. We simply disagree on this subject”.
Then end it.
Musk is the rare one to match Trump on low-blows. It never should have gotten into a childish, personal attack on social media fight between the two.
Musk can afford to lose any tax breaks/subsidies his companies lose with this bill.
Hoping they make up sooner than later.
Trump has proven to forgive and work with some enemies/haters before and even bring them into his social circle.
First of all, we totally need most of this bill ie. tax cuts, no tax on overtime and tips etc. With that being said, I really respect Josh Hawley,Rand Paul and others that have issues with the bill. It is huge, as many of these bills are and should be looked at with a microscope. I respect our president and know that he is 100% for America, but this is a huge bill with many facets to it.
Funny how dems and media love Musk again.
Such hypocrites.
They’re morons how they change their attitudes over every miniscule thing in life.
Love. Hate. Love again. Hate again.
Its soooo exhausting
Unfortunately, Congress, being made up of career politicians, will never enact either a balanced budget or term limits, two things required for ultimate survival of this nation. And these issues are not partisan. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats want off the gravy train. Re-election is everything! I fear for the future of our children and grandchildren.
God has appointed HIS President and HE/GOD is in control. America MUST refocus and this BBB represents the ENTIRE countries people, not just a specific party and political agenda. The tax cuts on tips & overtime, help the middle American people who are the working class that make the country function. They need & deserve this break. I have adult foster children who it will affect significantly. America needs to encourage HARD WORK & revive the unified servants heart so this younger generation WANTS to WORK AGAIN. In Jesus Mighty name, let it be so.
Congress has a small window of time to wake up & get the job done. They blew it last time. We don’t need a repeat.
President Trump was not a politician in 2016. He learned a great deal about how to accomplish things. Elon doesn’t understand how things work, so he doesn’t realize that the bill is a step forward to get things fixed in the long run.
I feel that Musk was looking for an “All or nothing” solution. Trump sees that it makes very needed step, and is a good place to start on many other points. You don’t just place a building. You have to build a strong foundation first.
Elon created Doge in order to point out the fraud, waste and abuse in federal spending. This bill could have been a big beautiful bill if the Congress had implemented the taxing AND the 4 trillion dollars of spending cuts that were recommended.
Elon has a right to be angry. The government never intended to cut spending.
The government didn’t listen to a brilliant man that gave up his time to make a change for the better and then Congress spit in his face with this big, beautiful, bill which is neither.
The government is using their self created power to transfer the wealth of hard working Americans to a cabal of government employees and private industries that are stuffing their pockets with the graft stolen from hard working American.
Just another lie. It is a time for real change. We need real men in Congress and I am afraid that there are too few of us left.
The bill is a good start, but many more deep spending cuts need to be made..
I think Congress should pass the BBB as the 1st step. Then, more spending cuts. Doge has already exposed massive amounts of fraud, waste and abuse. Many of us have dealt with cuts in income due to events. We make adjustments in spending to accommodate the reality. It’s time our government learned to do the same. The legislative “tax junkies” need to go through a “detox” and learn to spend less. It may cause some short-term pain, but in the end, we will be better. I think more balanced trade will improve our financial position. Most of our government was funded by tariffs until the 16th amendment inn 1913 that allowed the income tax. It was the beginning of giving the federal government too much power. Perhaps, the founding fathers knew the ability to tax income would lead to corruption.
It’s deja vu all over again. No one has read the entire bill. No one! It’s “we need to pass it to see what’s in it” all over again. It’s too big and doesn’t fulfill Trump’s promise to cut waste and fraud or reduce the deficit.
Reagan showed us that we can grow our way out of difficult economic times. So that line of thought can definitely be applied here, as well. However, I would really prefer to see more reductions in spending.
I have reservations about the bill; however, I trust President Trump and his business sense to be on the right track. I have been unhappy with Congress and spending us into oblivion so many times that I am willing to try the President’s way this time because he has been right against all opposition so many times that I feel he deserves a chance. He says it will be a step in reducing the overspending and the deficit. I want to give him a chance to be right again. For sure it can’t be as bad as it has been since we have gotten ourselves into this quagmire. Let’s give him a chance and pass the bill.
Get the dam thing passed . Stop whining , complaining and show boating like the nutjobs do and stop listening to the rag free press!
I support the tax cuts. However, more spending needs to be cut. I also oppose raising the debt limit another five trillion dollars because it’s just an excuse to rack up new bills that will never be paid. Name one bill that was paid because Congress raised the debt ceiling.
The founding fathers of our Constitution prohibited income taxes. Our government funding was originally thru import duty taxes or tariffs. The official collection agency for revenue was the Customs under the USCG. And as far as I can tell it worked till about 1913.
The BBB is, sadly, the best we’re going to get out of this congress. I sympathize with Elon, however, the swamp is still deep and reconciliation can only cover “mandatory” spending which even many Republicans are loath to touch. Musk needs to learn patience. Throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater will do more harm than good.
I support the #1BBB because I choose to trust President Trump and his administration. I am a senior who has to work, to afford housing, healthcare and food. Bidenflation seriously outpaced increases in Social Security, for four years. Seniors, like me, are on the cusp of devastation and we must have relief to do more than just survive. Yes, there may be pork in the bill, however the good it will do vastly outweighs condemnation.
I am sick to my stomach of our reps forcing these big inclusive bills down our throats. Each part of bill ll should be voted on separately so that we know exactly what is in bill. I’m done sending any money to these people. Hey should do what our taxes pay them to do. They’re too busy trying to get re-elected to continue padding their own pockets.
If we are told the truth, then the bill can be passed and later adjusted. There is no reason that it will become like Obama care. First off, the bill has been thoroughly studied over no one is unaware of the provisions. Act like grownups and pass it. let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
I think it should be passed because it can be ajusted later depending on how it works out. It is a very important first step.
I trust Trump, his intent, plan, strategy and practicality. None of us can intelligently respond to this question without having read the bill AND appreciating the political gymnastics. If Trump says this is the right path, AMEN!
I think it’s not enough cuts of waste. Too many Rinos want things as usual. Defending Planned Parenthood is a MUST!! Let the so called “pro abortionlanlist figure out how to fund it and stop our tax paying money especially those who are against abortion like myself. It’s also good to defend PBS and NPR especially PBS for indoctrination our children with the let’s agenda. How dare you!! When I watched Sesame Street it was all about counting and teaching ABC’s. I haven’t obviously watched it but to teach our very young mind the crap that they are!! Again, how dare you!! Madness must stop and stop now!!
I would fully support the bill if it was what the President and Republicans originally wanted. It’s now a watered down version. Democrats have removed things that they didn’t like and added things that they wanted. And it’s full of pork. Several “Republicans” and Speaker Johnson are weak and wont stand up to crybaby Democrats.
CBO? When I was the last time the CBO had a correct, or even close, estimate of the effects of legislation? They were off by nearly a trillion dollars on the effects of the Biden bill. Of course, they were wrong in the opposite direction— it would improve the economy according to them. The reality was quite different. If they’re politically neutral I hate to see them biased.
As criminal stock trader, stuttering drunk, Nancy Pelosi once said “We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it”.
Never having read the bill it is hard to oppose or agree with I’m sure it has good and bad in it there is probably a bunch of pork in it
Better pass this bill or suffer the consequences the left would like nothing better than to see it fail
I’ll take what I get today. And keep pushing for more spending and tax cuts. There are sufficient DOGE savings to cancel the projected deficits. So we must keep pushing.
Too much pork!
