Russia, China, Cuba, and Iran, have used Venezuela as an outpost in our hemisphere to undermine our interests and undermine our security. The distance between Venezuela and the U.S. mainland is less than the distance between New York and Texas. This is right in our neighborhood, and there’s nothing between us except for open waters. So that’s left us vulnerable. Actions needed to be taken because hostile foreign powers like China, Iran, Cuba, and Russia were/are operating there.

This isn’t a war. It was an action with a specific mission. The objective that was achieved was to shut down the drugs to America, boot the Chinese/Russians/Iranians out of their operations base in our hemisphere, grab our oil assets back, and starve Cuba from their oil source. The rest of the world is on notice to clean up their actions that can negatively impact the U.S. or face the consequences.

The ignorant radial Left forget Venezuela was once prosperous before socialism crushed it. Chavez destroyed a thriving nation, and ignorance of that history fuels today’s bad takes. Controlling oil revenue can choke corruption and give Venezuela a real chance to recover without endless nation building. Strength abroad helps stability at home too.

Sadly, commie/socialist mayors in NY and Seattle have their heads in the sand (or elsewhere) and are history deniers. Furthermore, they are too chicken to leave the country they hate [U.S.] and move to a real socialist nation whose ideology they claim to embrace. I’d gladly pay for their one-way ticket out of here!

“Praise God forever and ever, because He has wisdom and power. He changes the times and seasons of the year. He takes away the power of kings and gives their power to new kings. He gives wisdom to those who are wise and knowledge to those who understand.”                                                                                                     Daniel 2:20-21

We’ve done what we can in Venezuela so let their people sort it out but keep up the operations on drug boats & oil tankers. It’s time to focus 100% on getting every illegal alien out of the US, start prosecutions of Democrat crimes and go after the sources that are funding the protests.

Same old song from Dems, they were for taking out Maduro before they were against it. Next old tune, it’s all about the oil. Please, the US is currently the world’s leading oil producer. Give Trump credit for seeing the BIG picture, it’s about renewing the Monroe Doctrine. Russian & Chinese influence were knocked down a peg and western hemisphere dictators put on notice to tread carefully. Venezuela was once a wealthy country, but yet another lesson in Socialism’s failure seems to make little difference to Democrat new found socialist supporters. Think about it. The left used to have a great saying, “The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it’s open.”

We should support the Venezuelan people and help them install a government of the people. Rid the country of gangs, drug cartels and other foreign influence. Ensure their oil does not go to Russia, China, Cuba or Iran and become a free country. They are too close to the USA for countries like Russia and Chine to establish themselves there.

Success will require a multi-focal approach. Prosecution, stabilization and support of a fairly elected freedom-based government, targeting and disrupting drug-trafficking, and leveraging oil resources are all part of the overall efforts. It’s not a pick 1 or 2 scenario.

Although I didn’t select ensuring Maduro is convicted inn US courts, it is important to ensure he’s not tried in any NY court because of the obvious bias.

These choices are far too 2-dimensional. There’s a much more complex operation going on right now and I trust 47 and his brilliant team to figure it out. There’s A LOT more to do.

I’m proud of the military members who got in, got the job done, and got out without a causality. Well done! And well done Mr. President. Yet another Amac poll that should have provided a couple or three choices or better still, an all of the above.

For the last sixty or so years, the U.S. has not been very good at Nation building. On the other hand, whatever the Trump administration comes up with has to be better than the UN running things.

If our goal is to encourage our oil companies to rebuild Venezuela’s oil industry, we have a substantial amount of work to do to make Venezuela safe enough so that our oil companies are comfortable with both sending their employees to Venezuela and investing billions of their shareholders dollars in the rebuilding.

I personally think that all of these things should be done. America first means we need to be focused on what is the best for America. Security physically and financially.

Another “all the above” poll. We cannot leave a leadership vacuum behind or the whole mission will have been useless. It’s imperative that democracy be re-established in Venezuela. Too many countries are turning to socialism/communism. We must ensure that this trend gets reversed in our hemisphere.

Venezuela had a strong economy and was a desired place to live back when US corporations built and controlled the means of production.
Then socialism stole those assets. Give those assets back to their rightful owners (US shareholders) and Venezuela will again be prosperous.
Capitalism always works. Watch out NYC if government takes over housing.

These days, I’m no longer surprised by the politicization of any activity taken by the Trump administration. From the openly socialist, Marxist, leftist politicians and media to the indoctrinated, brainwashed Gen-Z/Y-ers coming out of some universities, it’s defining what TDS truly is… a virus that apparently has no cure.

I heard someone say yesterday that if anyone other than Trump were president and doing the same things, there wouldn’t be the backlash we have today. I would have to agree with them. Here’s why…

  • Many of the actions Trump is taking were campaign promises by Clinton, Bush, Obama, and even Biden.
  • Full speeches by popular democrats over the years are being shared and broadcast today as reminders that highlight the hypocrisy.

The actions taken by the US in Venezuela to retrieve Maduro were actually sanctioned, and not setting a precedent, with examples from both Bush and Obama terms.

I applaud our amazing military for their expertise and dedication, and for flawless execution that demonstrates excellence and makes our foes recognize what FAFO means.

Regarding next steps, I’m no expert, but I honestly would like us to support all efforts toward stabilization and applaud the focus on investing in infrastructure upgrades. I am concerned about the following:

  1. With Maduro out of the way, I believe the cartel is quickly positioning his replacement, and they potentially could be even worse than Maduro.
  2. Until the cartel is crushed, there will continue to be a significant threat to that region, and any rebuilding of the infrastructure will be met with significant resistance, including violence towards the workers and companies helping to rebuild.
  3. With Cuba, Argentina, Mexico, Iran, Russia, and China benefiting and collaborating with Maduro, we need to ensure the US and our interests are secure. I’m anxious to hear what our plans are.

The political, radical left are bombastically pontificating and moral grandstanding like Monday morning armchair quarterbacks, and have no idea what they’re doing. It’s abundantly obvious.

Sorry for my rant – I’m just an old guy who was raised by the “greatest generation” and watching our beloved America enter into a civil war that’s being fought in the streets by activists and puppets who have no idea why they’re even there.

I’m a firm believer in FAFO, but we need hard justice with consequences. As much as I care about Trump, I think he made a poor decision in Bondi for AG. I think Gates would have been a hardliner like Hegseth is for our military, and that’s something we need right now.

Have the US Navy rocket every illegal drug factory in Venezuela. It’s best that it’s done in one giant attack so they can’t move drugs and machinery into safe places. No boots on the ground. Used drones to locate all of the targets.

::Sigh::

Maduro was no more “president” of Venezuela than Castro was president of Cuba. Edmundo González was the actual winner; Maduro simply declared himself the winner. Please don’t fall into the habit of using the language of the Left.

The USA now has an opportunity to help the people of Venezuela turn back to the Western values and principles the country embraced in the 1970s. But don’t underestimate the political “leadership” of the Left in the USA, and their ability to interfere and completely screw-up Western progress in our hemisphere.

Trén de Agua is only part of the problem. Maduro’s thugs (Think Deep State, like here.) and TdA still need to be rooted out and then González can safely return.

These people need a Constitutional Republic BADLY!! And, in that Constitution the citizens NEED, the right to keep and bear arms, to be able to KEEP their freedom!!!

That is why we have the Second Amendment to our Constitution here in the USA, thank God!!

The old saying is CORRECT: Socialism/Communism, vote your way into it, and shoot your way out of it!!!!

The United States should build two military bases. One in Caracas and the other in La Esmeralda. Then we will help rebuild the country and economy while making our presence known throughout northern South America. Eventually, we may be able to gain access and control over the country of Colombia, and then we will be able to control all drug, human, and migration routes headed to the United States.

GMAC, you not asking right questions. Ask what part of 2016-2020 election fraud did Venezuela participate in? Ukraine and Venezuela both connected. Trump administration is destroying the networks of criminal activity between the deep state CIA ops and globalist. Their goal was to take over the world. Trump is dismantling the infrastructure stealing American dollars. He is protecting the interest of America and negotiating to gain allies surrounding our country. We have learned of the fraud in every direction of our history, healthcare education, and our livelihood. The radical side, who has infiltrate our government with intent to destroy our constitution and invade us with illegals who hate us. There is more to this story than what’s being told with Ukraine and Venezuela. We’ve got to end the 2012 Smith Mundt Act in order to get truth back in our radio & news feed. This won’t happen until we remove those from federal, state and city politics who are blocking and likely paid. Minnesota is the first example of many.

This poll was a tough one. I don’t want the US to expend US funds to rebuild their country, they have oil for that. Let the US get them producing like they did years ago, bringing in money and rebuild it themselves. That requires a stable government, one that will enforce their countries laws, meaning police reaction to criminals, the Venezuelan military reaction to Maduro/communist based groups that wish to continue down the path they have just been rescued from. The US doesn’t have to garrison the country, it has to gets its citizen elected government back on its feet.

There’s no way to ensure Maduro’s conviction, let the court system play out (not that I trust it in NY). We should not be involved in “nation building”, but support the efforts of Venezuelans to reclaim their once prosperous country. The US apparently does not need their oil, but we can help them profit from it to get back on their feet. That will mean we don’t have to give them money, which we shouldn’t. The US should stop all foreign aid; loans would be preferable if absolutely necessary.

I have friends from Venezuela and they are so relieved. Their lives were destroyed. The interim government needs to be supported and stabilized and the government offices and services need to be streamlined and organized so that country can operate and function properly for the people instead of special interests.

Back in the 70’s Venezuela was a rich and thriving country and the envy of that region – then comes socialism- maybe the ought to teach this in the Ivy League schools – “the end result of socialism- the history of Venezuela”. There comes a time when the blood of tyrants and kings must be shed.

Most important is to impress on other powers the need to stay out of our hemisphere, unless they are involved in trade. Russia, China and Iran have been interfering for years, and no one did anything about it. God Bless President Trump for taking this on. Now, on to Panama.

You missed one part of the support a stable interim government. We need to make sure that they have secure and honest elections. Without the machines that gave the presidency to Maduro.

Then we can help with the oil. I have heard that the Venezuelan people are not all that concerned about the oil because now they have their freedom. But I think we can help fix any problems with the infrastructure with the equipment for the oil production and then turn it over to the people or someone they want to run the industry. No longer giving it to our enemies (China, Russia and Iran).

The US must see to it that the winner of their last election be put into office or have a new fair election and get the communists and socialists all out of power so they can’t regroup. Assist with getting their country up and running to become profitable so their people have work and prosperity. Show the world how to take out these terrorists and have more peaceful nations. Bring in our oil companies to assist in getting their oil refined so both Venezuela and the US will share the benefits. Do not let the oil companies take advantage.

Instead of the MSM promoting the protestors of these actions by Trump and constantly showing opposition to it, they should be running reports and articles showing the differences in Venezuela before and after Socialism/Communism to show the world a true current real life contrast of a country experiencing the result of both of those governing ideologies and let people make up their own minds about it.

Having worked in Venezuela on the oil rigs there, I believe the only way to get the oil flowing again is for America to help them, they need our know-how now more than ever before, they could without doubt become the “pearl” of South America as they have the resources and only need someone to show them how to get it.

While all the choices have value, it asked for the priority, and the first priority must be establishing a stable interim government until free and fair elections can be arranged. Rebuilding their economy is a longer term issue for sure and a robust, efficient oil industry is at the hearty of their economy. Obviously, the war on drugs must continue.

There you go with that “democracy” crap again. Democracy is mob rule, no ifs, ands or buts about it. The Founders despised democracy, which is why we’re a republic, with democratic functions. The Venezuelan people deserve nothing less, to function again as a free society, and dissuade the BRICS and Cuban governments from fomenting unrest again. To secure an ally and a communist-free Americas, this needs careful planning and oversight for a while.

So here’s my thoughts.
Be great if Machado got back and did something like the following:

Cuts a deal with El Salvador to assist with rounding up all gang member and narco terrorists.

Seizes all of their bank accounts.

El Salvador will hold all arrested gang members/terrorists at CECOT until such time as Venezuela is able to construct their own CECOT (using seized money of course)

Regain control of the oil industry and invite/encourage the US companies that actually built them to come back and run it again the way the original agreements (or better) were in place. Once that has been accomplished, petition for the lifting of the embargo and start shipping oil to the US at a steep discount for a set period of time (ie 10 years) at which point it can become competitive with the rest of the world.

Encourage any Venezuelans living in the US to return home and start up businesses with interest free loans using the seized assets. (or just outright give them a set amount of money for returning home)

Encourage the immigration of any persons illegally in the US (and without criminal records/history -with the obvious exception of 18 USC 1325) to lawfully immigrate to Venezuela to start businesses with low (or no) interest loans using the seized assets.

Just off the top of my head. Obviously wildly optimistic and mostly undoable. But just a thought.

That’s a difficult question. Certainly we don’t want foreign countries too close to our borders, we don’t want China to benefit from work that we did out in Venezuela, and we’d like to see Venezuela prosper like they had in the past. We certainly don’t want drug cartels running the country! The oil would be an asset for the United States. I would say years of Presidents that were asleep at the wheel are causing all of the problems that we are experiencing. Poor foreign policies allowed bad players to move in. Trump cannot fix everything! He sure is trying like hell…

Start arresting Clintons, Obamas, Waltz, Bidens, Harris and at least 99% of congress. Throw Israel out of the United States. Get U.S. out of the U.N. and the U.N. out of the U.S. all the money people behind the paid ICE protestors, all sanctuary city and state officials. Maybe we’ll start to have some faith in the government again.

All of the above except for “Unsure”.
A comprehensive plan exclusive of military action is required to stabilize the country and the entire region. Lots of moving parts.
The majority of Venezuelans are like others everywhere—they just want to live their lives in freedom and prosperity for themselves and their families.
However, there are always the sociopaths that want to subjugate and rule over the masses for
their benefit that complicates everything, either through fixed elections or force, just like our esteemed government officials.

Oh, my! It seems that the majority of respondents want the US to undergo another attempt to impose Democracy on another country. When has the strategy ever worked? Not in Afghanistan, Syria, or Iraq. The US should work to destroy the powerful Venezuela drug cartel, and the evil Venezuelan gang which Biden let into the USA!
