As evident by the numerous accomplishments President Trump has achieved to implement his “America First” agenda, he is clearly man of action by fulfilling his campaign promises (unlike countless other political blowhards.) One of those commitments was for the U.S. to acquire Greenland.

Remember in 1867 Secretary of State William Seward was mocked and criticized by journalists et al for his successful quest to purchase the vast wasteland of Alaska from Russia for $0.02 per acre. His critics labeled his acquisition “Seward’s Folly” and “Seward’s Icebox.” Well, look how that has turned out. Alaska has proven to be rich in gold, oil and other resources, while becoming a vital national security barrier to Russia. Folly? I don’t think so!

Interestingly, William Seward was interested in obtaining Greenland following the successful acquisition of Alaska, but that never came to fruition. Fast forward to President Trump’s campaign declaration for the U.S. to acquire Greenland, which is currently an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark.

Just like Alaska has proven to be rich in rare earth elements and other resources, as well as an imperative and strategic national security interest, Greenland may play an even greater role for America and the (wimpy) NATO countries.

Trump’s fixation on Greenland is not whim or folly. In the end, Greenland is not about spectacle or bravado. It is about whether the United States chooses foresight over complacency in a world where geography still decides power. Sadly, enemies of Trump would rather wallow in there TDS than do what is best for all. Nations are rarely forgiven that see the obvious and still refuse to make decisive moves.

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”      James 1:5

His negotiating style still angers and scares a lot of people. He goes in like a bull in a china shop sounding like he’s ready to start WWIII. Eventually, after scaring the you know what out of a lot of people, we find out what his real goal is. He knows what we need and usually gets his way. He has shown the world that America is still the leader in so many ways that they don’t want to mess with us.

It is so sad that America is fed so much baloney in the MSM. That baloney fuels TDS and prevents people from considering President Trump’s wisdom and forward thinking. Rather, we have to fill the headlines with anti-Trump crap while the real news is ignored. It is a relief to see so many on this website supporting President Trump.

Trump’s interest in Greenland is forward-thinking given its strategic position in the Arctic.

While we have had a continuing right to expand our presence in Greenland, during the past several years, we have lost our focus on keeping a strong presence in Greenland which has now been renewed.

Once again it is the forward thinking of President Trump that is going to save this country. If people in this country would pay attention to what he is doing by doing their own research instead of just listening to the mainstream media which doesn’t have a clue. The only thing they care about is using ANYTHING to make the president and his administration look bad. All of the moves so far Greenland, Venezuela, helping Argentina, the Panama canal and even taking out the nuclear sites in Iran. They all boil down to America first by protecting the western hemisphere from China and Russia influence in our own backyard. And if he could, he would acquire Canada as well because they are totally dependent on the USA for their defense also.

Greenland is not Denmark’s property but a land with an Indigenous people whose right to self-determination long predates European rule, and Donald Trump’s intervention usefully exposes the hypocrisy of a declining post-colonial declining Europe that still clings to its remaining possessions while preaching decolonization elsewhere; Denmark’s authority over Greenland is a colonial residue, not a moral mandate, and administrative control cannot substitute for consent or permanence; the people of Greenland should demand a clean break and the freedom to choose their own future—whether that means a new relationship with the United States or with any nation or arrangement they freely decide. The real scandal is not disruption but Europe’s refusal, including European Union complacency, to apply to itself the very principle of self-determination it insists upon everywhere else.

I think as usual the Liberal media is trying to undermine the President by making this sound like he’s a Tyrant. He will get it done through diplomacy. Whether we actually take over Greenland with a deal or if he has meetings and negotiations with NATO to let us build bases and mines. He’ll get it done.

Although it is his usual creative deal-making approach, it is also his four moves ahead, forward-thinking to protect U.S. national security and counter China and Russia’s growing Arctic presence. And it is also about the fact that we already pay for most, if not all, of their security/protection anyway.

It’s in America’s best interest just like Venezuela China and Russia have made moves in South America that I thought should have been addressed before now so his interest in Greenland is thinking ahead in my opinion and I agree with it period

It never ceases to amaze me how Europe and NATO have absolutely no appreciable defense strategy or the ability to realize the need for deterrence. Maybe they should learn to speak Russian!

WE [the true Americans] know Trump’s bargaining style–make a bold proposal, wait for a response, then shift to a “more reasonable” position. Why the “lamestream” media haven’t figured it out is amazing! All those college degrees and pseudo-educations taught them NOTHING about real life!

I feel this is a very bold and a much needed move for the protection of not only the US but Greenland and Canada, whether they will admit it or not. To say we cannot trust China or Russia, is a gross understatement. Their combined efforts at world domination are despicable and frankly, quite unnerving.

Different proposals have been put forth, for acquiring Greenland, since the Eisenhower administration. It is vital we get this done, not by force, but by handshake. I fear that, if we don’t, sometime in the future, Russia and/or China will take it by force. We would then have Communist forces, with nuclear weapons, on our doorstep. We need Greenland for missile defense.

President Trump made a perfect deal to protect the USA and solidify the NATO alliance. Denmark will retain control and still fund the population centers around Nuuk, while the USA can establish defense bases and the Golden Dome in any other part of Greenland. The exclusion Russian and Chinese interests is icing on the deal.

Please….remember Who is really in control.
Pray for all those in leadership, here and abroad Complaining and whining is not pleasing to God, and demonstrates you think you are wiser than He is; your plan is much better than His perfect plan ! Just because you cannot see into the future, you still think you have a right to know every detail.
What happened to “Fear God, and obey His commands”…does God owe that to you? No!
So, get on your knees and pray.
2Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
This, my friends, is OUR command to obey. God is faithful. Are you?
It’s not all about politics…. but pray for them!

For years we’ve had Presidents who do very little in the best interest of Our Republic. Now we have a President who is looking out for our future and the left is furious. I would say that the left are our domestic enemies! Enemies within trying to destroy everything that they can. Stop this, Stop that, Protest stupid issues….I think Americans need to get with the program and start thinking like Americans!

Trump didn’t make this up. The acquisition of Greenland has been on our “radar” for over a century, and is essential to US national security interests. Trump is not the usual politician – who navel gazes for years hoping a problem will go away. Trump solves problems, tackling issues head-on. America First.

Trump’s approach is a win-win. It draws attention to the threats from China and Russia and the need to protect America’s interests and security in Greenland while at the same time his rough/tough talk has spurred EU countries to increase their defense spending and mobilize for “action against American aggression” — the kick in the pants that they needed to man-up and start preparing to defend themselves instead of relying on the US to protect them.

BOTH to protect USA national security AND access natural resources which will benefit USA. Actually, we know China and Russia are entrenching themselves worldwide using their traditional mechanisms. Their goal is entirely self-centered.

From what I’ve heard, it’s more likely that the province of Alberta would become a state than Greenland. The security situation is serious concerning Greenland, but the economic advantages of Alberta would be ginormous. Nobody will have ever seen anything like it before. My votes is for Edmonton, USA.

Trump is fighting an information war with unelected Globalist who lie, steal, kill and are a bunch of control freaks who believe they are better than all of gods other creations. Trump can’t tell them the truth about what he is actually doing. He also needs the backing of the majority (which he has). Therefore Trump says what he has to say to accomplish the ultimate goal of destroying the Globalist. Once Tariffs are Funding the Federal Government good bye Central Banking and the Globalist funding source.

We have had a military presence in Greenland since 1951. As far as I know (limited knowledge of course) our presence there has always been accepted as welcome. Greenland is in a strategic location to protect much of the “free” world from the encroachment of communist forces through that area. I don’t see that there’s a need to “own” Greenland though, any such actions could be construed as colonialism.

Trump certainly has a creative approach to most problems, but given the threats from Russia and, especially China, the buffer zone of Greenland is needed. I don’t believe our country has a “conquerer” approach and this deal will benefit both countries, as well as Europe (even though they may oppose it).
