The idea of an AMAC webinar on the concepts of inflation, unemployment, interest rate policy , supply chains and the housing market sounds great ! This is a very important issue, the more people understand about these topics the better.
An increase in the knowledge of economic matters is fundamental to thought of having more manufacturing here in the United States of America. Everything that encourages having the ability to make what is needed here in the U.S.A. is vital , the idea of depending on another country for important goods has been shown to be a large mistake. O.K. , so be it , mistakes will happen. It is time to correct the mistake and see to it that the Made in the U.S.A. spirit is something that will build strength and confidence for a future that respects Liberty, respects the rights of people to decide for themselves how to best live in accordance with the values of Faith, Family and Freedom.

These issues are where the rubber meets the road, where I lack understanding is how to best choose investments with such an incompetent administration at the wheel. But dealing with the fallout of biden’s bad decisions is challenging to say the least!

Our economic illiteracy nationwide is a big reason why we have poopie-pants Joe living in the White House and a Congress filled with insane politicians who are similarly ignorant. This is where we need to apply effort, but unfortunately, AMAC is already made up of educated people–it’s the leftists to vote based on feelings and are ignorant about basic economics and think we can just print money who need the education, but they won’t come, ignorance is where they want to stay because it’s easy and they’ve never beed educated in school or by parents or the school of hard knocks (like having a JOB and paying taxes). Willful ignorance (AKA STUPIDITY) reigns in the USA.

I’m aware enough to recognize the missteps by this administration. Paying bonuses to people for not working, sending stimulus money that only increased inflation, gloating about the low unemployment while people working full time struggle to live with record inflation. Hamstringing the oil industry to enable him to shove his climate agenda down our throats. Pushing for electric vehicles that the average American cannot afford and the power companies will not be able support without mandatory blackouts. Probably know too much to be able to sleep well.

This would have been more useful if it had been done in a quiz format so that we could have tested ourselves on how well we do or don’t understand this concepts.

Would suggest that everyone, especially Seniors, enroll in investing/banking curriculum classes at your local technical college or community college. You will learn how our fractional reserve banking system works, how the Federal Reserve operates. What fiscal and monetary policy is and how all
of it relates to your own investing/business in the economy/politics. I did years ago and it has helped greatly.

Never mind us … How about Janet Yellen, Liz Warren, Paul Krugman, and other geniuses that got into this financial and economic mess? We know enough to know that they don’t know enough to do their jobs well.

The economy means very little to me. The rise and fall of the market does not affect me in any major consequence. I am not a greedy man and I trust the Lord to see us through, HE has never let me down. I live my life in a manor (as best as I can) to uphold the word of GOD. There have been ups and downs in my life, based on decisions I’ve made, but never any fault at GOD’s feet.

With 2 degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, where I minored in both economics (through intermediate macroeconomic theory) and psychology (through psychopharmacology and theory on the origins of behavior) with physics required through quantum and special relativity, and math from calculus 1 through calculus 5, and statistics, I can only say that the bad guys study all of the above, and more. Their brainwashing techniques seem to turn 67% of the American public into truth-dislikers. (not truth-haters, mostly hypocrites, don’t really want to think about any important topic.) I see the public schools as our best bet for long-term solutions. Keep rallying parents to get involved and fight the lefties, not just on politics, but on ALL content. And teach the top 20 false-logic techniques to detect and confront at an early age. It seems that more than 90% of Americans love false logic! We need to counter that.

I pay attention to the economy. I see the prices at the pump which is a good, general indicator, but I also sell welding supplies and am acutely aware of supply chain issues; price hikes; quality of goods; etc. I’m also aware of the Socialist mindset and Socialist economics and the negative effects that those policies have on economies (taking from the haves and giving to the have-nots). On the other hand, I’m not an expert on the issue and wish I had a deeper understanding of the issue of economics and who’s really pulling the strings.

I didn’t do the survey but I’m very well aware of what’s happened to my budget since Biden took office. Illegal I might add. He is ruining this country with what he and his people behind the scenes are doing. The climate change and demands we all buy electric cars is a farce. God is in control of the climate and these climate alarmists have predicted things that haven’t happened. We need to have a great turning back to God and a drastic change in who is controlling the government.

I think the most important thing to be learned from this is it really matters who you vote for. An acquaintance said that the President doesn’t set gas prices. I replied “ no, but his policies do. All of this happened very fast. Anyone who governs by executive order is a tyrant!

I happen to have degrees in Accounting and Finance, so that is why I picked the first option. My siblings that are also educated, but are in the health field and computers, are clueless when it come to these subjects. They also are following the crowd, hateful of conservatives and will not speak of current events.

Those are the macro issues. Even scarier is basic financial illiteracy such as the many folks who accept paying credit card interest in perpetuity for non essential impulse items. The core of this issue is the belief that financial decisions should be made on the basis of how badly the individual wants to buy something as opposed to whether they can actually afford it. Eating out 3-4 times a week is another hallmark of this. Why is this scary and not just a private matter? When people so afflicted go bankrupt they look to govt to bail them out. Dave Ramsey made a career out of offering shock therapy to these folks.

Minored in Economics in college and enough Accounting classes to understand balance sheets, income statements, etc. But, I’m not current enough on the data regarding today’s economy to hold my own in a discussion with someone fully up-to-date, otherwise I’d have selected the first option.

100% agree this is all a manufactured crisis — how much is intentional and how much is stupidity is harder to say. (I’ll put it this way, stupidity leads them to make intentional goals/decisions that result in these kinds of problems).

I’m definitely not a genius when it comes to economics however I can see when our government, large corporations and very wealthy Influential individuals push and exert pressure to control the economy to favor their power and wealth. I believe a personal conservative approach to handling our income, investments and spending would serve as a good foundation to personal economic stability. Also, closely examine who you vote for and (especially) what are their fiscal policies record.

Like most on this site I went to school before the department of education and actually learned useful things such as economics and how the U S Government is supposed to work, along with the history of this country, good and bad without sugar coating. Could I have studied harder and learned more? Of course, we all could and should have. I also had a great set of parents that instilled the value of the dollar and to have a plan.

Although I have a pretty firm grip on these issues, most are still beholden to the media’s distortion of facts surrounding them. The AMAC seminars are a good start, as well as a more middle of the road, economics-based online news source like the Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times will help supplement knowledge.

I was required to take Economics in college and it helped me understand how things should work. I also ran our family business for 11 years, so I have first hand knowledge of practical application. Our country is suffering from the greedy desire of the Democrat party to rule with an iron hand. They do not care if the people suffer and even die, if they can rule over the country. See the Cloward Piven strategy of destroying our country and rebuilding it as a Socialist utopia. This sort of government has proven disastrous in other countries in the past: China, Russia, 3rd World nations, totally corrupted from the top down. President Biden and his WOKE cabinet need to be arrested for Treason! Everything the left accused President Trump of doing is actually happening and 10 times worse with this administration.

My father was a banker for 50 years and instilled in me the importance of having a monthly budget that you stick to and follow . I retired from 48 years in banking and followed his same principles. We as a country cannot continue the spending binge we are on and survive. The current administration has no common sense.with a leader who cannot function and we are going to push this country into total monetary chaos at the current rate of spending. We as individuals should each have a monthly budget we stick to, if you can’t afford it don’t buy it. With the current banking system rates anything you put on a credit card, without paying it off in full monthly will kill you. Let’s face it, the Democratic party is a Socialistic party who wants to control everything you do.and they cannot be trusted no matter how they spin it. Vote Joey Dumbshit and they whole crew out in ’24 and reclaim some sanity to this country.

It’s not enough to be focused on inflation or any one thing, because in order to fully understand any one issue, one also must see everything else gong on, and how it affects the entire picture. For instance, inflation, buying power, etc. is dependent on how much the present regime has printed money, along with this regime starting and escalating war in Ukraine effectively along with the sanctions against Russia and really against all of us, all of the un-natural and manmade disasters effecting food supply, energy supply, transportation, news propaganda, bailing out mismanaged banks (another method of money-laundering)—–ALL of this affects inflation and the value of money–BUYING POWER OF WE THE PEOPLE. One cannot consider or discuss or understand any one issue, without considering the big picture.

I work in the mortgage industry. I know more about that than the other problems with the economy that have beset our nation because of Biden’s bad decisions.

I know that the economic situation has hit the mortgage industry hard. My company did not give raise last year and we have been having layoffs. The layoffs are after a time of increased employment in the industry. My company had been adding people until last year. This is how you know the economy hit the mortgage industry.

I could use more knowledge about the other things. I do find stuff out online and via some radio programs and podcasts.

Knowing and understanding the above issues is great. However, it takes common sense to develop legislation and enact policies that can fix the issues to benefit the country and its citizens. Common sense is seriously lacking in the current WH Admin; an Admin holding steadfast to passing an almost 7 trillion dollar budget when the government only receives 4.8 trillion in revenue, which will ensure the continuation of raising the debt limit. We have got to get rid of these people…

I know enough about these issues to be certain that Joe Biden (aka: Traitor Joe) irreparably damaged America on his first day in office by ending America’s energy independence and making us reliant on Communist nations, once again, for our energy needs and putting our nation into a death spiral.

The questions, as I see it, are not the problem(s). “We” don’t need to be able to discuss, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Employment / Unemployment, ETC! Inflation, (SEMANTICS!) The Taxpayers of this country do not need (Want?) to intelligently discuss any of this, “We” are living it and there is no “Rock Solid” plan to change any of it. “We” are way past the point of discussion. What “We” need is LEADERSHIP and no amount of discussion, especially from taxpayers, will affect change. This country is currently being run by different groups of people that are, spineless, motivated by their donors (Is that Bribery?) consumed by personal agendas, have a lack of motivation and / or whose one goal in life is Political Correctness & Mediocracy. They are doing a job that is in deference to the oath that they took. Yes, I could go on, but that is basically “OUR” problems.
“We” may have gotten to the point of understanding that having anyone other than an International Businessman become President is ABSOLUTELY LUDICRIS. “They” are in charge of The Biggest Business in The World and their concept of running it is when things get tough, spend more & RAISE TAXES.

When our two sons and daughter were in their early teens, my wife hauled me to the goodwill store and we purchased a game of monopoly, took the play money and copied it on the printer to have enough for her economics class 101. We made fake credit cards and then the game begin, they had jobs, income, and they had lots of expenses. The credit cards always helped them out and we let them run the debit up to 25,000 at 18% interest. They soon discovered that the interest was more than they could pay. Now they have children and realize that our country is going broke, the USA won’t be able or can’t make the interest payments. Our grandchildren will probably, if the spending continues, will have to pay about a 60% tax rate. In their world, they work 22 days in June, at the 60% tax rate, they will get to keep everything after the 14th, the first 13 days go to the government. The country continues to elect politicians who in their socialist world keep everything they have, while the rest of the electorate gets to redistribute their assists. In the near future if we continue to elect democratic communist (hopefully not), the government will send you a card that has what they think you need to spend, there will be no more need for cash, coins or crypto currency.

The White House and the rest of the dems do not want educated people. They have been dumbing down our kids since Brandon came into office.
What we need is to stand up against this tyranny. The dems are selling America piece by piece to the Chinese. Spending is out of control. Printing of money to have America fall is almost here.
The MSM reaction to Trump and the town hall on CNN showed how much hatred the dems have for him and those who support him. There is no tolerance. Questions this moderator asked were hateful and you could see the hate in her face. And Brandon is asked what flavor ice cream he likes. No amount of education about the economy is going to change that. There is a sickness in America that is going to destroy this country from within. This administration is governing to those they can manipulate and those with an opinion different from them have to die. Those who stand up against them are arrested and those who commit crimes are deified. Is it too late? I am afraid so.

In order to understand our economic system, one must wrap their heads around the concept that we (the US) do not have a capitalist system (or even a libertarian one). We have a fascist system where our economy is centrally controlled by a PRIVATE central bank who is responsible for our money. This CB represents the interest of big banks (by assets) and through collusion with corrupt politicians, runs our economy. Their goal is to make YOU the middle class paupers and put you on the government dole where they can control you. If this sounds harsh, it is because it is, but this does not make the narrative false. It is an invitation to do your own research on what the Federal Reserve really is and the purpose of the Exchange Stabilization Fund, which is skimmed off the taxpayer and fake fines to these big corporations. This fund manipulates the stock market and is where the Avatar in the pretend White House is getting his money to send to the Ukraine. This fund is why 95% of retail traders fail. It is by design, to take your money and line the pockets of those like former Speaker Pelosi.

Even though I am 80, when I was in college economics was my minor because it was very interesting. That knowledge gave me the basics to understand what is going on today. The terrible monetary mess this country is in now is definitely the result of the Biden administration’s printing and spending money that only makes the cost of everything we buy ridiculously high. People who do not work but are capable should not eat.
