I might not be as smart as a fifth-grader, but it’s not difficult to see how these blue cities and states have gotten to the condition in which they find themselves regarding rampant crime. When your ideology has blinded you to reality where municipalities and states refuse to enforce the laws and hold criminals to account, your homicide; rape; burglary; car-jacking; arson; drug-related crimes; human trafficking etc. will grow exponentially.
When these socialist lunatic leaders continue on this path, all it does is harm and negatively impact the citizens to which they were elected to serve and protect. President Trump campaigned and was elected partly due to his promise to restore law and order. Again, it’s simply common sense to want to have our citizens be safe.
Trump’s executive orders to deploy National Guard to address crime have already proven to be a smashing success in our nation’s capital. In fact, D.C. Mayor, Muriel Bowser had to eat crow and admit that Trump’s plan is working: car-jacking down 87% and robberies have dropped 42%, and not one homicide since National Guard was deployed. Keep it going…we have a lot more blue cities to save.
If these radical left mayors and governors refuse to abide by Trump’s executive orders, claiming that their communities are safe, here’s a challenge to all you lying deniers: Get rid of your vast detail of 24/7 police protection. Then venture about in your communities and see just how safe they are under your rule. But they don’t have the cojones (or whatever) to do that, because their axiom is “Safety and protection for me, and not for thee!”

Deployment in DC is allowed.
Deployment in sovereign states is not.
So says the U.S. Constitution and the D.C. Home Rule Act.
President Trump rightly acknowledged that limitation when he said he’d deploy to states only if they ask for the help.
Remember, there may be future demented “Bidens” or marxist “Mamdami’s” and we don’t want them using troops unlawfully against us in our states.
What President Trump did in DC was AWESOME and legal – he proved what can and should be done.
Now, use that success in campaign ads as an example against soft-on-crime judges, $oros-funded DAs, and horrible politicians. Demand bail and keep criminals and dangerous people incarcerated or confined.
Don’t blow it by giving the D’s what they want – another excuse to scream “tyrant.”
Just look at the crap that goes on in Blue states. They have no intention of cleaning up crime, or anything else. Newsom in California is a joke and between crime, homelessness and illegals it is and will continue to be a mess. Chicago is another city that is out of control with crime. When will Dems ever grow a set and clean up these places? Trump is doing what Dems won’t do.keep on pushing big D.
There is no greater use of American troops than defending American citizens from threats… foreign and domestic.
I’m not a fan of federal involvement, but these mayors and govenors are putting the rest of the nation in harms way. They are violating immigration laws that are meant to protect both citizens and immigrants. These laws are not to keep people out of the US. They are in place in ensure a benefit for the US. There is another approach that would solve this problem. The states are sovereign and can do as they please, but we don’t have to fund them. Simply revoke all federal funds! If you want to be independent then don’t take funds from other states that want to stay United (as in the United States).

There should have been an additional voting option: Only if invited by local authorities. We get the government we deserve. No bail laws have been around for years, and have failed. Yet blue cities and states continue to vote for the officials and parties who have made their homes unsafe. Until they wake up and fend for themselves, Trump should not waste time, money and effort to help people who refuse to help themselves.
Yes, but much of the crime we have in Chicago springs from gang activity on the West and South sides.
My concern is that the the Guard will spend most of its time patrolling the Mag Mile, Grant Park and other areas in the Loop rather than patrolling areas of the city that have serious gang activity.
What we really need is more cops in the neighborhoods.
I voted no because it would give democrats another reason for suing the president. My suggestion is, let the people of the crime-infested cities decide by who they vote for. If they continue to vote for liberal democrats, then they don’t care if their city is crime ridden. If people are that stupid that they continue to vote for the same people, for example Scott of Baltimore and Johnson of Chicago, and live in fear, hiding behind closed and locked doors, then so be it.
It is only a temporary fix. Can’t hav the federal government police every large city for ever.
I don’t think he has the authority, it’s a great idea and am glad he cleaned up DC, but we do have states rights. I wish these blue state Governor’s would do their job, but each state is gonna have to change.
How about: The President of the USA has the responsibility of protecting each and every citizen in the USA. Correct? Meanwhile, The anti-American Left policies of allowing criminals to kill at will, crime run rampant such as car jacking and rape, only to be released if and when caught has been adopted by the Democrats which has obstructed the citizens safety. Should President Trump, activate the National Guard to these high crime cities, to counter this, so that American citizens, their families, ARE safer and MORE secure within the Homeland, their homes?
It’s time for the citizens of these states in trouble with crime to step up and vote in those who are capable and willing to fight the crime epidemic. For far too long others have gotten themselves in trouble (sometimes by their own fault/vote) and then reach out for someone else to bail them out. Enough! Citizens can recall politicians they voted in for not doing their job, they can make sure the next election those are not back in office or for that matter they can just move to a place that offers them safety (as much as any place can) and security. Just look at the exodus from states like California, New York and New Jersey. Many others are following suit as well. Mr President, offer it, but if they say no, respect their choices, but do not help fund them. They wish to do it themselves… prove it!
No, the National Guard is not designed to perform these duties long term and this use negativity effects their ability to be available for valid, vital missions.
The state governors need to step up and use their resources to protect and defend the citizens of their state. Hold them accountable or replace them.
Everyone is seeing the positive changes in DC. Except the demonic Dems. Taking the national guard into crime infested blue cities, along with ICE, is necessary to make our country safe again. The lunatic left will run around screaming & getting under foot, but citizens want to feel safe in their cities. Only us seniors can remember not needing multiple locks on our doors, & knowing our kids could play safely outside. We didn’t grow up automatically suspecting everyone we didn’t know well had evil intentions. Don’t today’s youth deserve the same sense of peace ?
I think he should at the invitation of the mayors or the governors. If those that give him approval have their crime rates go down then those that don’t will have egg on their faces and will have to answer to the voters. It is like the tariffs. To some just the threat was enough to others, like Canada, it took a real hurting on their economy and her citizens to pressure the government to capitulate.
While it is extremely to clear to anyone who has a working brain that the presence of additional law enforcement in D.C. has substantially brought down crime, I am not sure if sending in the National Guard by without state consent is such a good idea…at least not at first. He should make the offer to those governors and mayors who have refused to uphold the laws that have been passed in their state and cities. Let them be the ones to make the decision to utilize all possible means at their disposal to successfully fight crime in their cities. To force the National Guard on them would seemingly only serve to further entrench them against the President and allow them to cause more pain and suffering for the people of their state/cities.
The governors that refuse the help should publicly be put on notice for the entire nation to see. Give them 60-90 days to turn things around and start enforcing the law. Encourage the citizens to cry out to their leaders to stop crime and put pressure on them to accept federal assistance. If, after that allotted time they haven’t enforced the law and still refuse federal assistance, cut ALL federal funding to the state. Leave them to destroy their state/cities. Make assistance available to citizens who wish to flee that state to assist them in finding housing and paying for moving expenses. Eventually, the leftist leaders will either concede they are failures and seek federal assistance or they will succeed in totally destroying everything. At that point, the federal government can move in to restore law and order, and arrest the leftist leaders who supported crime and criminals over their citizens.
I know this sounds pretty drastic but sometime drastic measures are needed. Someone with an addiction to something often needs to be allowed to hit rock bottom before they will acknowledge their need help and accept that help. Maybe the DOJ and FBI should look into filing charges against the state and city leaders who allow crime to run rampant. Many of them are probably on the take from gangs and criminal organizations anyway. At the very least they are extremely corrupt and should be charged for that reason alone. Ultimately, it may take the citizens finally rising up against their leaders in order to make a change.
I am ultra conservative but had to vote no on this. There are other options. Federal monies being cut off and the people at the voting booth electing Republicans who will welcome President Trump’s assistance. We have a law that anyone aiding and abetting illegal aliens is guilty of a crime…start arresting a jailing governors and local reps who are disrupting ICE cleaning out the cities. Start an information campaign to educate citizens on how they can help clean up their town…once they see how they made a difference, the positive results will be longer lasting. I do not want to set a precedene of sending in the national guard…it sets the stage for a President to use it against the citizenry…think obumba. It is time the existing laws are enforced and Congress to pass new ones to protect our country. No foreigners elected to positions of government representation, only paper ballots, death penalty for anyone harming a police or ICE officer, and laws holding accountable parents, social workers, teachers, school counselors, principals, and law enforcement who identify a person with disturbing tendencies who may harm themselves or others but fail to follow through on getting them help, and laws that allow police room to investigate before a crime is committed rather than having to wait for a crime to be committed.
Democrat run cities are encouraging more crime as that is the long term plan of the Marxist regime. Create chaos and also divide and conquer. America has most certainly dodged a bullet with the election of the Trump administration. Aggressive intervention has become mandatory as these blue cities (not states) have allowed and encouraged a festering gangrenous criminal takeover.
States and local governments need to step up as well as citizens that want a safe environment.
The citizens of all these communities need to pay more attention to whom they are are electing. People tend to vote only in the presidential elections and ignore their local elections…this is how all these radicals got into office. Trump may be president, but we are still dealing with all the leftists judges, district attorneys, and mayors that were allowed to get in power. And New York looks on course to elect an actual socialist/communist. Until the masses wake up and realize they keep voting in the very destruction of their communities, nothing will change. If Trump brings in the troops, it will only solve the problem temporarily, and set a bad precedent. Even though,honestly, I would love to see those evil mayors and governors eat crow. We all know more taxes/government money is not the answer. The only answer to crime is punishment. Period.
Tough poll. No doubt the Dems will fight tooth and nail. But Trump isn’t one to back off a fight, nor should we. Tough on crime has always been a strong position going back to the 1960s. And it’s clearly working in DC. Even the lefty mayor had to admit that.

Going off topic, it is just after 8am, Saturday August 30. I just watched the Cowboy Logic program, on Real America’s Voice (RAV), featuring testimonies from J6ers that sang the National Anthem every night while incarcerated in the DC Gulag. What they suffered was positively not something any American citizen should have to suffer. Their Constitutional rights were totally violated by the politically left! Anybody who loves this country needs to be speaking up against what the Biden Democrats unlawful justice department did to J6ers. My brother is a retired Chicago police detective that worked sex and violent crime for half of his 24 years. He can easily attest to the City crime statistics being adjusted lower, or incidents not categorized as murder or assault. So the real frequency of crime and the real % of crimes solved is lower than the low ball number that the city is asserting
The US Congress has the responsibility for managing the District of Columbia. Since the early 1970’s they have given that authority to the city and have not bothered to assure the citizens of their safety.
The Executive Branch has no authority to go to other states, so by doing that they are outside the boundaries of the US Constitution.
We are entering the area of having the “police state” take over and when that does, it will be whoever is in power makes the rules and can change them when they want.
No longer following the recipe written in the US Constitution changes our republic dramatically.

If any Democrat mayor wants the help of the National Guard, they can ask their state’s governor for authorization. President Trump can point to the results of doing so in D C, can recommend and even cajole, but constitutionally it’s up to the states and cities. If Dem voters don’t care about the quality of life where they live, the consequences are on their shoulders.
It is not constitutional without invitation. Full stop! Governors have the authority to deploy the national guard in their state! Y’all keep your head right on liberty.
You know, I think the “medicine” the Left wing, democrat run cities are getting is what they deserve. The people of these cities and states voted for the government they are getting. Yes, they voted for what they are getting! And what has it gotten them? Murder, rape, drug trafficking/dealing, thuggery, car jacking, child molestation, etc. All they have to do is look at Washington D.C. to see that it does not have to be this way. If sorry, low life politicians get off their backsides and let the police do their jobs, crime will go down significantly. Disappear, no. Law enforcement and politics is a very bad mix. The police chief dances to the mayor’s tune, and if not, the chief loses his/her fat paycheck, fat benefits package, and fat pension. That’s how it works. The mayor tells chiefy-poo to tell his/her officers which laws to enforce and which ones to look the other way on. Just look at the recent thuggery in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The police were of NO help at all. So, when you hear some lowlife government official tell you you don’t need a gun, because the police will protect you– go laugh in their face! There is not one politician, VIP, big shot, A-lister, head honcho whose life is more important than yours or mine, agreed? I see the heads nodding in unison. If armed protection is good enough for them, then it is for us, too.
Let the people in the communist run cities I mentioned, (and there are more), see how crime can be suppressed in D.C., and that is does not have to be the way it is, where they live. When they have finally had enough, they will act and vote. Well, at least rational people will vote the correct way. Who knows what these people think in some of these cities. It does not take the National Guard to fix the issue, the police can do it, if they are permitted to do the job. I understand that many of these cities are short police officers ( remember “defund the police”?); that takes us back to what and who the people in these cities voted for. Lastly, as mentioned by one of the commenters below, if the National Guard is brought in, it sets a precedent for the democrats to use in the future. Imagine if a “president” Newsom ( isn’t that scary) decided to flood cities with the Guard to confiscate guns from citizens. Hm, not a pleasant thought, is it? Our own boys in uniform now become the enemy of all freedom loving Americans, backed by your friendly local police, who will now be, mysteriously, let to do their jobs.

Democrats depend on a constant state of victim-hood to continue to promise solutions while never delivering. The Soros elected mayors and DA’s continue to decrease the police and release their criminal peers back into the world to continue the cycle. Democrats have destroyed the family unit and created a new government owned slave state paid for with free programs and lowered education to keep the people ignorant.
We need to elect responsible leaders and take our education system back from the indoctrinating leftists!

While conditions in Blue cities are deplorable in a free democratic republic military should NEVER be used against citizens. It is a very slippery slope. State’s rights are critical. The feds have no business in enforcing local laws.
It is a touchy situation. But, our motto with the Engineer Battalion I was with was; “What ever it takes.” If it takes the Guard, send in the Guard. If it takes the Marines, send in the Marines.
We have a fairly short window to get crime under control before the midterms, that can’t be accomplished unless President Trump moves forward aggressively.
Yes indeed, this is one way to directly fight george soros and chaos he has caused by funding the campaigns of demonic judges that won’t put these criminals in prison and other bureaucrats that halfheartedly enforce laws. When an offender is apprehended by the National Guard they should be whisked away to Guantánamo Bay for water boarding to get information on the rest of their cronies, and prosecuted in a honorable federal court, and get appropriate prison time!
The strategy works and would do a lot of good, but it will turn into a big legal and political battle that Trump could lose. Plus, it would distract from the other positive things that are being done.
The success in DC will show the citizens of democrat run communities that it’s possible to clean up their communities if their local government is willing to do their job. The people must choose to change their own “leaders” before that will happen.
Deploying the national guard without the overwhelming support of the people and the local government will only lead to mass protests and law suits, tying up the courts and wasting time and money that could be better spent on other projects to help American citizens.
President Trump has clearly demonstrated that solving the crime problem is possible with the right leadership. Now, it’s up to the people to elect the right city and state leaders to accomplish that goal. Until the people realize that “progressive” policies are not progress, but are in fact destroying their lives, the quality of their lives will continue to decline.
The democrat party used to be the party of the people.
Now it is the party of controlling the people by keeping them in fear and dependence.

My first thought was ‘man who fart in church sits in his own pew!’ If the demonrats don’t want the help, don’t do it. The citizens will then understand that help was offered, but since it was from Pres. Trump the dems don’t want it. Never mind how unsafe the citizens feel. Just goes to show you that the dems are more interested in abetting criminals than the safety of law abiding people. And just to clarify, illegals are criminals too. Mayor of DC seemed to think it helped A LOT. Pritzker and Johnson are doing nothing but grandstanding and theatrics.
Unfortunately (for those residing in high-crime and deep-blue cities), the 10th Amendment limits what the President is allowed to do in the way of deploying troops into those cities. There is, however, an opportunity to show the people of those high-crime areas which could help them to understand how they’ve been misled and mistreated by those to whom they have entrusted their vote . . . IF those people can get past the propaganda spewed by the MSM!
As soon as the Guard leaves D.C., the crime will come roaring back. If the DA’s, judges, etc. don’t change, it’ll be right back where it was in no time. The basic problem is Democrats firmly believe that criminals are criminals only because society has harmed them and they are just fighting back. They need to be coddled and all will be well. The Dems are blind to the fact that it’s not working. They continue to believe that eventually the poor souls will see the error of their ways, we just have to throw enough money at the problem! Far-Left Democrats do nothing but try to deceive citizens who really don’t know what’s going on in their own country USA — they only know how to complain about Trump but do nothing to solve problems so Trump has to take over somehow, and it’s not Naziism. Democrats don’t even know the problems as the concern is only power. Trump has the support and power to save it from destruction.
Look at the EU nations (UK, France, Germany, some Scandinavian countries, etc) and all the Far-Left/Socialist ideology taking control with helpless citizens because the people vote(d) for Far-Left politicians who favored open borders like Biden (and vice versa).
Another frightening on-going problem is that our country is being targeted for takeover by Islamist groups who want the US to be a country like they fled from (they escaped so now they can be powerful here). Notice the declining birth rates in many countries except the Islamists — do you know why? Look at Minnesota as an example, and New York mayoral candidate!
Apart from drugs and crime there will be more strife coming because people are angry, emotional and not knowing what’s really happening; they don’t know their country’s history, a constitutional republic; they are American citizens who actually hate their country for no real reason that makes sense.
I hope “sleeping” minds wake up and not only follow what the majority are shouting and rebelling about.

For years Democrat run cities & states have let crime run rampant. Drug cartels, gangs, street thugs terrorize citizens daily. Police departments are underfunded & undermanned. Many places have downgraded felonies to misdemeanors to fool crime statistics. Media is complacent with these policies.
While it sounds like a good idea as a way to deter all the killing and car jacking, it is ultimately like putting a band aid on a broken leg. The thugs will wait until the Guard is gone. And as for the fact that the majority of these things happen in Cities and States run by Democrats, with their no bail policies, then the crime is on them. They should be made to answer for it at the Polls.
I keep reading how States are sovereign and that POTUS only has jurisdiction in D.C. However, didn’t POTUS take the same oath the military took: to defend the United States from foreign and domestic enemies? Plus, many of the demonic, blue state leadership were NOT duly elected. Did we forget about ballot harvesting, election fraud in those same blue hellholes, the theft of the 2020 election?

Some cities in red states are crime ridden. Maybe the Governors of those states should ask for help first. When crime goes down in those cites hopefully the Governors of Blue states will request help. If not then the citizens of those states should vote them out
There are many Hot Spots [No Go Zones] where terrorists have been building camps so to speak that may be governed by those wanting to harm and/or take over the US. Most in blue states. They need to be rooted out to protect our country, our people and our freedoms. When we are strong and healthy we can then help others.
Trump hopefully will send troops to all blue states and arrest all criminals and politicians that obstruct!!

I don’t like how that pole is worded. I do think Trump should deploy troops in other crime ridden cities to clean it up, but not for the purposes you list. It’s about safety for the people.
