This party-size tropical fruit salad is ideal for bridal and baby showers, graduations, picnics, family reunions, and birthday and anniversary celebrations. The recipe serves 10 to 12 but can easily be doubled or tripled to serve an even bigger crowd!

No party? Feel free to cut down the recipe to serve fewer people.

A note about the dressing: This fruit salad recipe contains a lime dressing. For those who dislike lime, no worries. Simply substitute with one of the following: some citrus poppyseed dressing, a drizzle of lemon juice, or some high-quality lemon olive oil. One may also omit the dressing altogether.

Recipe note: When using canned fruit, drain the liquid and reserve for another use.

Fruit salad ingredients:

  • 1 cup canned or fresh Mandarin orange segments
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup grapes (your preference red or white), halved
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup sliced kiwi
  • 1 cup canned or fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup canned or fresh mango chunks
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Basic lime dressing:

  • ¼ cup pure honey
  • Zest from one medium-size lime
  • Juice from one medium-size lime

Directions:

Combine the fruit in a large bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, lime zest, and lime juice. Add the dressing to the fruit bowl and gently toss to combine. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately. When preparing ahead, store the fruit covered in the refrigerator undressed. Dress and garnish the salad just ahead of serving.

Leftovers should be refrigerated and eaten within 24 hours for maximum freshness.

Note: Fruit salad can be incorporated into a healthy diet. Typically, the basic recommended daily intake of fruit for adults is 1.5 to 2 cups of fruit per day. However, requirements can vary depending upon age, sex, height, weight, physical activity, and personal health conditions.
