The Protect America Act presents a clear and principled framework for strengthening the rule of law.

February 6, 2026

The Honorable Eric Schmitt
United States Senator for Missouri
404 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Schmitt,

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens, with over 2 million members nationwide, including over 48,500 residing in the state of Missouri, I write in strong support of the Protect America Act.

Many of our members remember a time when laws were enforced consistently, borders were respected, and communities could rely on public institutions to prioritize safety and order. A nation that fails to enforce its immigration laws ultimately fails its citizens, especially seniors, who are often among the most vulnerable to the consequences of crime, disorder, and strained public resources.

The Protect America Act presents a clear and principled framework for restoring lawful governance. We strongly support its four central planks: permanently ending sanctuary city policies that undermine federal authority; enhancing penalties for illegal entry and re-entry to deter repeated violations; protecting law enforcement officers who serve our communities with courage and professionalism; and defunding rogue non-governmental organizations that enable or benefit from unlawful activity.

As an organization representing senior citizens, our members value responsibility, accountability, and respect for the Constitution. Your bill reflects those values and offers a decisive response at a moment when the nation faces a choice between continued lawlessness and a return to order. Upholding the law is essential to preserving the sovereignty of the United States.

Thank you for commitment to creating an immigration system that is lawful, fair, and strongly enforced.

Sincerely,

Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
