The Honorable Vern Buchanan
16th Congressional District of Florida
2409 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Chairman Buchanan,

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to express our strong support for your bipartisan legislation, the Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act.

At a time when our healthcare system faces rising costs and increasing strain, your bill represents a commonsense, patient-centered solution that empowers seniors to receive safe, high-quality care in the comfort of their own homes. We especially applaud your leadership in ensuring that over 200 hospitals nationwide, including 23 in Florida, where AMAC Action is headquartered, can continue offering this innovative “Hospital at Home” program.

The Acute Hospital Care at Home model delivers better outcomes and lowers the risk of hospital-acquired infections, preserves patient dignity, speeds up recovery, while reducing taxpayer burden. For our members, this approach aligns perfectly with conservative values of personal choice, efficient care delivery, and reduced government waste.

By extending this successful program through 2030, your legislation provides the stability and certainty hospitals need to invest in long-term home-based care solutions. We also appreciate the bill’s requirement for rigorous study and oversight, ensuring this model remains accountable, effective, and safe.

AMAC Action applauds the House Ways and Means Committee for moving forward on this important bill. We thank you for your steadfast support of America’s seniors.

Sincerely,

Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
