3:24. Took me forever. I couldn’t even spell the first word. Used too many letter hints on it. I’m confused about where “maypole” fits into Oktoberfest.

I gave up on MAYpole for OKTOBERfest!
I was stationed on the east/west German border in the early 1960’s in the US army. We were not allowed to leave the post for 3 days prior and 3 days after Mayday. We were told that Mayday was a communist inspired holiday. It was feared that the communist presence in the near by cities would create ugly incidents with GI’s.
