Susan 10 months ago Never heard of Mike Fink or the last person with many names… Sharon 10 months ago I googled Sally Ann; she was one of Davy Crockett’s wives. Alligators surrounded their home after she had given birth to their first son. She fought off the alligators to save her son. I didn’t see anything about her wrestling a wildcat. Could have been in another article somewhere, though. She was also quite good with rattlesnakes. She tied several together to make a rope to save Davy, who had gotten his head stuck in the crook of a hickory tree! Sam 10 months ago 9/10. Sally Ann? Ponder that 10 months ago #10 was to wordy. The last answer if you look it up on the Internet said Ms. Crockett tackled grizzly bears, but you say wildcat. Oh well. Not a good quiz for me. Patriot Paige 9 months ago 10 out of 10! Love History, and Tall Tales, and Good Stories! Mike L 10 months ago Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crockett – no mention of her wrestling a wildcat. Did mention she was “faster than a wildcat with his tail on fire” (American Folklore by S.E. Schlosser). First time I heard of this character. Did hear of Mike Finn, Pecos Bill, John Henry, Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed (real name John Chapman) and Davy Crockett (of Alamo fame). Walt Disney made cartoons for most of this characters, even had a series for Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier with Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen. Danm80 10 months ago 7 correct!!
