It was a special day for our family. We attended a small parade, then attended a ceremony at the cemetery, then home to plant garden. Listened to the Indianapolis 500 on the radio. Very busy day. Was sadden when the congress moved it to the last Monday in May for a 3-day weekend. The observance of the day was diminished. Patty L 2 years ago 8/10…. Pat R 2 years ago 8/10 Disappointed I didn’t get them all since Virginia has been my home for 3/4 of my 82 years; and my husband is buried in Arlington Cemetery. He retired from the USAF after serving a year in Viet Nam, during the Tet Offensive when he and a comrade were caught in a crossfire and awarded Bronze Star.
