All the answers were Air Force service related. My father got a Bronze Star as a 1st LT serving under Patton in WWII. Infantry only. His medal was for risking life & limb staying under heavy enemy fire so he could call in artillery strikes to save his company from being blown to bits by a German artillery barrage. No planes or flying involved. Bob S 1 month ago The bronze star is not the Air medal. It is awarded for gallantry in combat and is a notch below the silver star. Annoyed in Illinois 1 month ago Question #5 is a bogus item. None of the AMAC-provided answers truly tell for what efforts the military awards a Bronze Star. ConnieD 1 month ago I was awarded a Bronze Star serving with an artillery Battalion in Vietnam as a member of the US Army. I had nothing to do with the Air Force, never did. Number 5 is in error. J. FARLEY 1 month ago 8 for 10, God Bless our American Service Men and Women! Raymond Summers 1 month ago 9/10 do not know how to get 10/10. Number 5 was unanswerable. Lane P 1 month ago The Bronze Star is awarded for: Heroic or meritorious achievement or service while engaged in an armed conflict against an enemy of the United States or while serving with friendly foreign forces in an armed conflict; or Meritorious service or achievement in a combat theater not involving direct contact with the enemy (when authorized by regulation). Sue 1 month ago My hubs & I took it together – he (Army Vet) got 10/10…no surprise there! I got 7/10 – not too terrible. And, yes, Question 5 is so wrong. Rich D 1 month ago 10/10 #5 is bogus. Janice Moore 1 month ago Everyone else has said it, but I’m adding support. Number 5 is wrong. My father, an armored scout for Patton, was awarded the Bronze star for gallantry in WWII. Also, I would contend there are two correct answers for the Medal of Honor. It is indeed awarded for gallantry above and beyond, but also only during war. Stephan 1 month ago #7 has more than 1 answer. The medal of Honor can only be given during a wartime engagement. ConnieD 1 month ago I was awarded a Bronze Star for service with an Army artillery battalion in Vietnam. I have had nothing to do with the Air Force. Q – 5 is in error when stating that this is an Air Force medal. Philly 1 month ago 10 for 10, My father was 680th GFAB WWII, brothers were Navy corpsman, Airforce and Army chopper medivac Vietnam. Toni 26 days ago 8/10 Thomas J 1 month ago Someone at AMAC messed up #5. I have friends who received a bronze star that had nothing to do with an air medal. I worked in an officer’s personal records section and officers were always coming in to have us find out about their air medals because of the number of flights they wee involved in. My dad got two bronze stars in WWII as a truck driver in the combat engineers. Danm80 1 month ago 8 correct. Missed #’s 9 & 10. Learn something new everyday…. JKHero 1 month ago Question 5 makes no sense. How can a Bronze Star be awarded for “Air Medal” ? I can understand that a Bronze Star is an Air Medal or that a Bronze Star is awarded as an Air Medal. However, awarding a Bronze Star “for Air Medal” is grammatically impossible. KateL 1 month ago 7/10. I hate to say I don’t know much about medals. And most were guesses.
