Question one says the first naval victory was Valcour Island, but in the explanation it tells us that battle was a British victory. ???

6 out of 10. I saw the first question and knew I was in trouble. Got it wrong. Maritime History is a subject I could stand to learn about a lot more.

Question 6 about the US Merchant Marine during WWII; stated just the Atlantic Ocean. Was cargo shipped in the Pacific theater carried only by US Navy cargo / tanker ships? My father-in-law was a US Navy anti-aircraft gunner on Liberty Ship Daniel Webster serving in the Mediterranean Sea. His ship got torpedoed off the coast of French Algeria in Jan 1944. The captain was able to run it aground before the ship sank.

Missed no1. You ask for a naval victory, not a tactical victory! Then you give an answer that you yourself admit was a naval defeat!!! Obviously written by a Naval Academy Grad….
Go Army!

I knew when I read the quiz title that I wouldn’t do well (7/10), but due to some educated guesses, not too bad. It was a history lesson for sure,
