Patrick Joseph Killian, my paternal great-grandfather, came over from Killkenny, Ireland in 1860, at age 18 and joined the NY Zouves, an all-Irish regiment. He fought for the Union in Antietam, Fredericksburg, and one of the Bull Run battles, along with some minor battles, as well. I’m very proud of him.
