On November 24, one day after President Biden announced the release of 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.39.
Biden characterized the the release from the reserve as “a tool matched to today’s specific economic environment, where markets expect future oil prices to be lower than they are today, and helps provide relief to Americans immediately and bridge to that period of expected lower oil prices.”
This morning, more than a month after the announcement of the SPR release, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.28, according to the American Automobile Association. Eleven cents saved per gallon! That’s almost as much as the 16 cents the Biden administration saved Americans at their Independence Day cookouts.
By historical standards, that’s still pretty darn high. Since 2014, the average national price per gallon for all grades was below three dollars per gallon, sometimes much closer to two dollars per gallon.
Enjoy all of that immediate relief, Americans!

Gasoline here in Oregon has continued to rise. Just this past week, gas prices rose from 3.83/gal to 3.95/gal. Some stations are over 4.00. If you use credit, gas is .15 higher per gal. Undoubtedly, state fuel taxes will increase effective 1/1/22. Who knows how high gas will be in 2 days.
That’s the benefit of living in blue Oregon.
Try living on the left coast of communist california ,we pay 5.40 dollars for a gallon of diesel
the Illinois suburbs pay $3.20 to $3.45 for low grade gas . We don’t drive to Chicago , but prices are much higher there .
Taxes on our gas . . .
Excise tax : 0.19 cents per gal.
Additional tax : 0.01 cents per gal .
Total : 0.20 cents
Illinois taxes on dIesel too . . . $0.23 cents
They also tax jet fuel, kerosene, LP, LNG, and of course natural gas.
Some of these taxes were supposed to pay for our road repairs . Who knows what they’re doing with the lottery, gambling, and marijuana taxes . Illinois ( where Obama , and Emanuel , and the Daleys’ are from) has been corrupt since I’ve been a little boy. All Democrats .Hmmmmmm . . . I can’t imagine what New York, & California are paying. I wish, and pray that Chicago residents will wake up one day, and vote for the right politicians. Happy New Year !

Gas prices continue to rise here in AZ. Prices increased from $2.30 in Jan 2020 to $3.70 or higher now. We haven’t seen any decrease in prices.
Joe Biden and his staff of fools caused the price of gas to go up. And they don’t care; they’ll blame someone else and their followers believe them. It’s crazy!

We need to look at Biden’s bigger picture & agenda to go to all electric vehicles. Biden is starting this before we have a solid plan in place to accomplish this. What percent of the batteries are coming from China, does the USA have rare earth minerals to build these, where is electricity coming from to charge the batteries, Are batteries being recycled at current time or any plans to do this or —will this create another solid hazardous waste product in this nation. Be careful with this or we will end up one of the poorest nations in world & without vehicles for travel .
Or just build the pipeline and drill/pump, drill/pump, drill/pump and continue driving the vehicles we have and continue heating our homes as before. And quickly return to the prosperity we had with Trump!

I live in northern California. I paid $5.49/gallon. California is punishing its citizens with all it’s high taxes. When one political part is continually in power, it can do what it wants. That is what is happening in California.
Only Californians can fix that!
We’re in the same boat in Oregon. Super-majority of dems in state congress. They are able to raise taxes and fees with impunity and NOTHING goes to the voters anymore. Funny thing is, Californians leave their state because they don’t like the politics, cross the border into Oregon, a once politically-balanced state and, viola, they vote the same way they did in Cali.
I’m also from Oregon, and many are leaving this state. Our Dictator controls everything, even the courts.
