During 2019, the AMAC Foundation hosted a daily drive-time radio show on WFAX and WFAX.com, a Falls Church-based AM/FM station serving Virginia, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The daily half-hour program, titled “Senior Talks: Deciphering the Social Security Maze,” shared knowledge about this critical senior benefit program and delved into the myriad rules and regulations confronting folks aging into—or already participating in—Social Security.
AMAC Foundation, formed in 2013, is a non-profit affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), America’s fastest growing conservative organization. With a clear mission of supporting and educating America’s seniors, the Foundation seized on this opportunity to share its extensive base of knowledge by providing guidance to listeners seeking a better understanding of the program’s complex issues.
Participation in the daily broadcasts featured all members of the Foundation’s Social Security Advisory Staff, a team of trained and accredited professionals dedicated to aiding the public. Each broadcast covered selected portions of the Social Security program, providing insight into how the rules and regulations apply to individual situations.
In total, over a hundred individual sessions were aired during the six-month program and were simultaneously recorded for inclusion in the Foundation’s storehouse of Social Security information. These recordings are now available via the Foundation’s website and can be accessed on-demand by selecting the “Podcasts” menu item on the site’s menu bar. All recordings are keyword searchable by entering terms in the “Search Podcasts” block at the top of the page. The site’s search engine will display only those broadcasts containing that term.
