On behalf of the 2.1 million members of AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, I am
pleased to offer our support for the PATIENT Act, H.R. 3561. The importance of this legislation to reduce the cost of healthcare cannot be understated.
The PATIENT Act is a product of bipartisan work by the Energy and Commerce Committee, and AMAC cannot thank Chair Rodgers and Ranking Member Pallone enough for spearheading this effort to increase transparency to lower the cost of healthcare. AMAC has followed the process this legislation has taken through multiple hearings and markups to produce this bipartisan legislation which was voted out of committee unanimously.
AMAC has asked our members to reach out to their Representatives and urge them to cosponsor the PATIENT Act. We are happy that the legislation has reached over 20 bipartisan cosponsors. AMAC offers our support for the PATIENT Act on behalf of our members and applauds the Energy & Commerce Committee’s hard work in bringing additional transparency to the complex healthcare industry.
Thank you, Chair Rodgers and Ranking Member Pallone, for your efforts to reduce the cost of medical services and for helping patients take more control over their healthcare.

Adding my support and reaching out to my Representatives urging them to cosponsor and support the Patient Act. We need this now more than ever. Thank you to Cynthia Fisher for her commitment and to our elected Representatives for supporting her efforts.
This is great news! It’s encouraging to see bipartisan efforts aimed at lowering healthcare costs and increasing transparency. Making generic drugs more accessible will definitely help a lot of people afford necessary medication. Speaking of accessible, I was just trying to improve my basketball skills, and found an amazing platform for training – Basketball Stars. It’s really user-friendly! Anyway, it’s nice to see positive steps being taken in healthcare as well.
I am adding my support to the schoolboy runaway and engaging in communication with my representatives to encourage them to co-sponsor and support the legislation. We require this more than we ever have before.
For some of us, standardized herbs work. More studies are needed so that FDA will give some kind of approval for healthcare professionals to recommend these botanicals and give patients more options than only pharmaceuticals.
I am by profession, a health insurance advisor and agent. I see the need for transparent pricing. I also see the need to return to personal responsibility in our own health abd partnering with our own doctors to find affordable solutions to our Healthcare needs. Cynthia Fisher and team are doing an important work. I would like to see health insurance companies wake up to this and get away from meddling in the doctor-patient partnership.
I believe I have found a couple insurance carriers who actually advocate transparent pricing, such as using the tool “Healthcare Blue Book”, now called “Fair Pricing”. So much improvement needed in the first industry to waste a trillion dollars.
