As an organization comprised of many members who are veterans or who have family members who have served or are currently serving, AMAC is pleased to support this legislation. We recognize that it is our duty as grateful citizens to honor and support our brave veterans, including protecting them from fraud

The Honorable Tim Burchett
2nd Congressional District of Tennessee
1122 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Congressman Burchett,
On behalf of the 2.2 million members of AMAC – the Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 6,900 residing in TN-02, I write to offer our support for the “Veterans Protection from Fraud Act’”.
As fraud committed against military veterans is well documented, support for the subject and core concern of this bill comes from several sources including the Government Accounting Office, the Federal Trade Commission, the United States Postal Investigation Service, Veteran Service Organizations, and other significant representative organizations. As noted by previously proposed legislation, this bill recognizes the negative reality of fraud that veterans are facing, and that this issue is not recent, or isolated.
This bill, when it becomes law, would lay additional heavy penalties on those convicted of defrauding American veterans in any age group under five specific areas of law including fraud by wire, radio, or television; bank fraud, and healthcare fraud.
Our American veterans, men and women who not only served our nation, protected our country and way of life, but volunteered to do so, richly deserve our protection now. This bill adds a shield for these deserving Americans.
AMAC thanks you, Representative Burchett, for your vision and strong leadership in introducing this important legislation to protect our great American veterans.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President
