The Honorable Bill Flores

2228 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Congressman Flores,
On behalf of the over 2.1 million members the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), I write to you in support of your legislation the Stopping the Ever-growing Reckless Deficits (STEWARD) Act H.R. 3982.
By the end of 2021, important thresholds that hold Congress accountable on discretionary spending are set to expire. Nearly a decade ago, the Budget Control Act (BCA) was passed as an effort to curtail wasteful spending and prevent ever increasing deficits. In attempt to accomplish those goals, caps were created which limit funding each fiscal year to many federal programs. Unfortunately, Congress has already outspent the discretionary caps multiple times. Under the STEWARD Act, Congress must create discretionary spending caps annually to help them plan and keep spending under control and stick to them.
AMAC is proud to offer our full support of H.R. 3982 which will encourage Congress to spend responsibly and stick to a budget like nearly all Americans and small business owners do annually.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President,
