AMACAs an organization representing a demographic that is highly at risk for the coronavirus, it only makes sense to have all of the necessary clinical capacity needed to treat those suffering from the virus.

The Honorable Dan Bishop
9th Congressional District of North Carolina
132 Cannon House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congressman Bishop,

On behalf of 2.19 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 4,000 residing in NC-09, I write in support of your amendment that would prevent any funds in the Social Security Act, Section 1122, to be used to penalize states for expanding hospital beds and facilities outside of restrictive Certificate of Need (CON) laws.

As an organization that represents a demographic that is highly at risk for the coronavirus, it only makes sense that our first responders have all of the clinical capacity they need to treat those suffering from the virus. The last thing Americans need now are impediments to manage COVID-19 caseloads.

Thank you, Congressman Bishop, for continuing to take proactive steps to mitigate the effects of this pandemic. AMAC is pleased to offer our full support for your commonsense amendment.

Sincerely,
President, AMAC Action
