It’s The Super Bowl of conservative gatherings. The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is sponsored by the American Conservative Union. This year’s four-day event took place at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, the second year in a row for “The City Beautiful.” The title of the event was “Awake – Not Woke.”

AMAC had a strong presence, most notably a prime double media booth location right outside the General Ballroom entrance and exit in what is known as “Broadcast Row.” AMAC CEO Rebecca Weber and AMAC Action Senior Vice President Andy Mangione interviewed conservative commentators, sitting members of Congress, 2022 congressional candidates, and key influencers in the conservative movement. Many interviews were live-streamed on AMAC’s website and on YouTube Thursday through Saturday. Big names included Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, Mercedes, and Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union and organizer of CPAC.

Also in attendance were AMAC’s co-founder Judy Weber, Vice President of Advocacy Jennifer Bengtson, Jeff Szymanski from Political Communications, Terri Haverly from AMAC Action Advocacy, Social Media and Marketing Manager Alyssa Lopresti, and Chief Technology Officer Dave Kane with his IT support team. Dave’s crew hit a home run in making sure everything ran smoothly.

“This was my fourth CPAC, and it was quite a change from past years to see so many prominent conservatives coming to and seeking us out to thank AMAC for its advocacy on behalf of mature Americans and to share their thoughts on conservatism today and what is happening with policy in Washington,” noted Szymanski. Mangione called the event a “huge success” and noted “virtually no available podcast slot went unfilled. We interviewed guests practically non-stop each day.”  Weber said of AMAC’s involvement, “It’s critical to network, make connections, and have a strong presence, and we did all that and more in Orlando.”

Just a few of the over 125 speakers on the main stage at the conference included Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, Candace Owens, Jim Jordan, Kristi Noem, and Byron Donalds. The event featured a prime-time speech Saturday evening by former President Donald Trump.

Attendees agreed that The Rosen Group hosted a first-rate conference. AMAC will soon begin planning for CPAC 2023, wherever it may be held after what this year’s attendees hope will be a successful “Road to the Majority” campaign season. Attendees often describe the event as an unforgettable experience that never disappoints. There is effectively no other place in America where one literally rubs shoulders and bumps into today’s movers and shakers in the conservative movement, as they’re packed in all under one roof.
