79th Anniversary of D-Day Invasion
This week marked the 79th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II, commonly known as D-Day. Officially named “Operation Overlord,” it was a turning point in the war in Europe, was the largest invasion in military history, and involved land, sea, and air operations. The primary forces of “Operation Overlord” were made up of troops from the United States, Great Britain, and Canada, but also included service personnel from Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, Poland, Greece, free France, Czechoslovakia, Norway, and New Zealand. The invasion began on June 6, 1944, and it kicked off what would be the 11-month push to not only liberate Nazi-occupied northwest Europe but end the war in Europe.

H.R. 3206 – Senior Citizens Tax Elimination Act
This bill reduces the tax burden on federal benefits for millions of seniors and allows them to receive the full compensation they were promised.
H.R. 3029 and S. 628 – Primary Care Enhancement Act of 2023
This legislation cuts the prohibitive red tape in the U.S. tax code to allow Americans to apply their hard-earned, tax-free cash through their own Health Savings Account (HSA) to cover the monthly payment made to their choice of Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices.
S. 778 and H.R. 2968 – Cost Openness and Spending Transparency (COST) Act
The COST Act will increase visibility for concerned taxpayers and also opens the door to future legislation allowing the voting public to understand where their tax dollars are going and to hold executive branch departments accountable for their spending.
H.R. 3784 – Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity Theft Act
This bill would ensure the Social Security Administration is adequately prepared to help victims of identity theft secure their information including their social security number and ensure access to their retirement benefits.
H.R. 45 – Small Business Tax Fairness and Compliance Simplification Act
This legislation would extend tax credits to salon employers and improve the general welfare of small businesses in our country allowing them to grow, thrive and contribute to our economy on a larger scale.
Calls-to-Action
A new call to action went out to the Louisiana State Senate in support of Louisiana H.B. 311. This anti-corruption election bill proposes an amendment to the Constitution of Louisiana to prohibit the use of monies from partisan third parties, including foreign governments or nongovernmental sources to fund elections.
AMAC members were successful in helping get the bill passed in the Senate. If the bill ultimately becomes law, it will allow Louisiana voters the opportunity to decide once and for all whether these partisan financing schemes should be allowed to corrupt Louisiana’s elections.
Other active call-to-action campaigns are supporting the HEALTH Act and demanding JP Morgan Chase stop its assault on protected civil rights.

AMAC Action leadership is at the 14th Annual Western Conservative Summit in Denver, Colorado. This is the largest annual meeting of conservatives outside of Washington, DC. Next week we’ll have their report!
