Democrats Scramble to Win Back Latino Support Ahead of Midterms

AMAC Exclusive – By Andrew Abbott

As the midterms race closer, Republicans appear to be continuing to gain traction with Latino voters, a key constituency in winning control of Congress in 2022. While Democrats initially denied that such a demographic shift was even taking place, they are now in a desperate scramble to salvage their support among Hispanics.

Perhaps the clearest indicator of Democrats’ struggles with Hispanics has been President Joe Biden’s performance with the group. Though Biden won Hispanics 59%-38% in 2020, that represented a net 17-point decline from Hillary Clinton’s 66%-28% margin in 2016. Moreover, Biden’s approval rating with Hispanics is now hovering below 30%, one of his most dismal ratings among any demographic.

A number of polls over the past several months have also found Democrats only slightly ahead of Republicans in terms of support among Hispanic Americans, a dramatic shift after decades of Democratic candidates reliably earning anywhere from 60-80% of the Latino vote. Though Republicans aren’t likely to win a majority of the Hispanic vote in 2022 or even 2024, narrowing the gap to within a few points over just a few years is a drastic change given that such shifts often take decades to occur.

One big reason for Republican gains among Latino voters has been the rise of strong Latino candidates in dozens of races throughout the country. In a Texas border district earlier this year, Republican Mayra Flores, a Mexican immigrant, shocked the political world by flipping a U.S. House District that had been held by a Democrat for more than 100 years. In Virginia, Yesli Vega, the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, is another potential rising star within the party. Many of these candidates have powerful personal stories of overcoming adversity, and their message of preserving economic opportunity and traditional family values for future generations has resonated with voters of all backgrounds.

Republicans are also increasingly talking to Latino voters about issues that matter most to them – in particular, the economy. Hispanic Americans consistently rank inflation as their top issue heading into November, an ominous sign for Democrats.

Crime has also continued to be a major concern for Latinos, particularly in the wake of the BLM and Antifa riots of 2020. Latino communities and businesses were some of the hardest hit by the wave of violence that swept through dozens of U.S. cities two summers ago. Some were explicitly threatened by BLM activists. In June 2020, for example, a group of more than 20 businesses in Louisville, Kentucky, many of them Latino-owned, were sent a series of demands ordering them to “employ at least 23 percent black staff, buy at least 23 percent of their inventory from black retailers, or make a recurring donation of 1.5 percent of their net sales to a local black charity,” lest they be targeted by rioters. One Cuban immigrant and small business owner named Fernando Martinez who spoke out against the intimidation tactic made signs stating, “We left Cuba because of socialism. Be careful what you wish for.”

A key test of Republicans’ newfound strength with Latino voters will be in Nevada, where the seat of incumbent Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto – ironically the only Hispanic woman in the Senate – is a top GOP target. Latinos comprise nearly 20% of the Nevada electorate, or just above the national average of 19%. Cortez-Masto will likely need to win the Hispanic vote by around a 2-1 margin to stave off Republican challenger Adam Laxalt. While Cortez-Masto currently holds a 3-4 point lead in polling, a wave of disaffected Latinos could hand the race – and perhaps control of the Senate – to Republicans this fall.

Clearly concerned about a decline in support among Hispanic voters, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus last month announced a six-figure outreach effort aimed at shoring up the Latino vote in November. The campaign, “our Lucha” or “our struggle,” is built around a series of YouTube videos that will “unpack a variety of topics that matter to our communities.”

However, the content of the outreach effort appears only to underscore further why Democrats are losing support with Hispanic voters. The actual videos released by the caucus come across as dismissive and demeaning, labeling conservative-minded Hispanics as “crazy.” One video asks, “Do you have a superstition-loving Abuela or a crazy tio who’s always saying crazy things about stuff he heard en la radio? So do we. So, let’s talk about it.” The videos and other Democratic outreach efforts to Latino voters also routinely use the “Latinx” label, something which a majority of Hispanic Americans have repeatedly said is out of touch and offensive.

Regardless of the outcome in November, Republicans’ standing with Latino voters looks stronger than it has in decades. By some estimates, if the GOP is even moderately successful in 2022, the number of Latino House Republicans will increase by 50%. This complicates not only Democrat attempts to hold onto this vital minority group, but also their efforts to dismiss their opponents as militant racists. As Republicans diversify, statistically speaking, Democrats are becoming whiter, more “elite,” and less connected to the American people than ever before.

These idiots refuse to accept the fact that they lost that support the instant that they had gone total stink-eyed over control of our children!
And, this is not just exclusive to how Latino families feel about their audacity!

Well, good luck with that one. I can speak from experience; I am Colombian, worked as a nurse in this country, USA that is, for forty years. I know well about Communism although my home country has been a Democracy of sorts. It is a well known fact that Colombia was the last Democratic stronghold and that the Cuban narco Communist regime has been after it since the 50’s.The last two US Democratic presidents have done their part to ‘help along’ the election of the present President, a well known narco guerrilla thug, out of sheer madness or malice on their part. In 2017, Obama took US $400M out of our pockets to hand over to the Colombian guerrillas, apparently to help with a peace treaty that was only on paper and never took place. Then, in November 2021 in a bold move, also out of madness or malice, Biden took off of the red list the most violent narco terrorist group in the world, FARC. These thugs contribute to the most cocaine export to the US and Europe (thru the ‘Ndrangheta in Calabria-US $64 BILLION in cocaine only). This past June the narco terrorist Petro was elected President thru the same dirty tricks we are now familiar with. In other times, the US State Department would never give the OK for this sinister thug to be President of Colombia, and would have asked instead for his extradition a long time ago.He has beautiful homes in Boca Raton, and is not even a citizen of this country, nor has legitimate means to acquire such properties. Representative Salazar of Florida has exposed him several times, to no avail.) Latin America has suffered so much because of these dealings, and because of Obama’s flirting with Cuban Communism, that we are fed up with Dems, we will never again give our vote to the Dems.

Regardless of the chatter coming out of DC, the simple question to ask yourself prior to voting in November, regardless of race, do YOU feel better off than you were two years ago? Is the economy today having a positive or negative impact on your life? Do you feel the policies by the President and politicians in DC are benefitting or negatively impacting your life? Then, vote.

The Demsheviks honestly believe that they can keep stiffing folks on every level, patronize them on a continuous basis while inwardly actually having great contempt and disdain for these Americans, and then truly expect that these “stiffees” will continue voting for the Demsheviks regardless of such treatment.

The Demsheviks will never understand “why” these folks are deserting them, and will trot out all sorts of (factually incorrect) rationales as to why this is happening. And, of course, none of this is, or will ever be, “their” fault, but actually the fault of all those treasonous, Constitution hating, anti-Democracy boogey men of the Republican party. The sad part is that the Demsheviks actually believe this “false gospel” of their own propagandic rhetoric. MAGA is the only antidote to this disease. Let’s hope the Demsheviks get a LARGE dose of the MAGA antidote in both the 2022 and 2024 elections!

When I was in American Samoa, I needed to hire crew for a ship I ran. Several people there told me not to hire American Samoans; that they were all lazy. I should only hire Western Samoans. This struck me as bizarre advice. No only because the culture is no different in Western Samoa, but also I was being told that the locals were the ones that were lazy, not the immigrants. Usually you encounter a bias in favor of the locals, not opposite. I paid no attention to the advice and hired both with no regard to nationality. I was quite surprised to find that over the following three years, the Western Samoans were all very hard workers and most of the American Samoans didn’t work out and it took me awhile to understand how this could possibly be.
I finally concluded that since American Samoans could get citizenship automatically by applying for it, anyone with any ambition, drive or desire to get ahead would get a passport and move to Hawaii, California or elsewhere in the U.S. where the opportunities were greater. Western Samoans couldn’t get to the U.S., but they could get to American Samoa, where there was more opportunity than in Western Samoa. So in American Samoa you were seeing the people who stayed (the American Samoans) against the ones who left (Western Samoans) and believe me, there was a huge difference.

The American Dream may have been killed in Chicago. It may be dead in Detroit and Baltimore; but it’s alive and well in Latin America. The vast majority of people flooding across the border are people looking for a better life. They aren’t woke, they aren’t looking for a handout and they aren’t killing their babies. The are seeking a better life and are willing to work hard for it.

The donkeys think they are changing the demographics of the country. They are, but not in the way they think. The inner-city blacks may be content to take the welfare dime and that’s the future of the democrats; but anyone who is walking from Chili or Argentina to Texas will not settle for anything less than freedom. They will be the future of the Republican Party, and they will figure that out pretty quick.

AMAC …. this is a forum on current events from members … not a forum for people who want to spread the tactic of creating a flood of people to many phones and make robocalls to annoy most people. Basically, by allowing such posts in this forum encourages people to hook up with a system that relies on annoying many people with pressured advertising to buy products, join organizations, make charitable donations, and other types of advertising. I must presume that posters of such posts are paying a fee to AMAC to allow them to post??????

Rather than court the votes of Heritage Americans, the Repubs vainly chase after Hispanics, who, at worst, cast 60% of their votes for the Dems. The Federalists and the Whigs are waiting for the GOP to join them in political oblivion.

How could the “Lyin” Biden Dictatorship be struggling to attract Hispanics to his party when a couple of million Hispanics are entering our country illegally crossing our open borders this year alone! . . . I’ll end with “Let’s Go Brandon!”

Most folks in this country live by the founding principles of this country. Most folks also live by the morality established by God almighty, whether they worship Him or not! The leftist Democrats have left those principles and morals. It wouldn’t surprise me if more minorities embrace the right politically since the left hates anyone who doesn’t worship their elitist ideology which puts leftist in the place of God!

Hispanics may be moving toward the GOP, but white suburban women are going hard left, because they want to ensure that their teenage daughters can have abortions. So it will probably balance out, with some Hispanic districts going Republican, and some affluent suburban white districts electing Democrat congressmen.

If the Latino’s are smart they would run as far away from the Weaselcrats just like the smart black folks did.
Under PRESIDENT TRUMP
I know everybody did better and had money in their Bank accounts and pocket’s . We weren’t TAXED to Death on EVERYTHING and SPIED ON or ATTACKED by Government Agencies. Many people got to Open a Business or Purchase a Home for the first time fulfilling their Dream under PRESIDENT TRUMP.
Now like so many other people they are at RISK LOSING IT thanks to DICTATOR Beijing biden’s INFLATION and ‘INFLATION INCREASE ACT’.
Today, the Latino’s like the rest of OUR COUNTRY are under ATTACK by ILLEGAL ALIEN TERRORIST INVASION and DICTATOR Beijing biden.
Just ask those living by the Border how SAFE they feel under DICTATOR Beijing biden and FASCIST liberal policies.
