America’s most radical left-wing movement is no longer content to protest from outside; it is now working to dismantle the republic from within.
It would be a grave error to dismiss members of the Democratic Socialists of America as mere campus radicals or online agitators. In New York City and beyond, the group and its allies have scored primary victories, toppling incumbents and capturing nominations. The DSA wants power, and it is learning how to seize it.
That is why its agenda demands scrutiny.
In June, as City Journal reported, DSA national leadership adopted a revamped platform titled “Workers Deserve More!” The innocuous name belies a radical program to upend America’s constitutional order.
The document calls for scrapping the U.S. Senate, replacing the president and Supreme Court with bodies chosen by and subordinate to Congress, drafting a new constitution, and creating a “democratic socialist republic.” It goes far beyond higher taxes or regulation: it seeks to abolish the separation of powers crafted by the Founders.
The DSA is not demanding different policies. It is demanding a different country.
While much attention has focused on the party’s socialism and hostility to Israel, the deeper threat is its hostility to the American republic itself.
The platform calls for abolishing the “carceral forces of the capitalist state,” sharply cutting military power, granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants, ending sanctions on rogue regimes, and placing key industries under public ownership.
It would effectively erase America’s borders by allowing free migration, demilitarizing the frontier, ending detention and deportations, and granting full voting rights to noncitizens. Taken together, these steps would render American citizenship politically meaningless. Anyone could enter, stay, receive amnesty, and vote, thereby stripping the American people of their sovereign right to shape their nation’s future. That is not democracy; it is the disenfranchisement of citizens.
These proposals form a single ideological project: weakening every constitutional safeguard that constrains power and protects Americans from radical rule. The DSA views the Founders’ checks and balances not as bulwarks of liberty but as obstacles to overcome.
When institutions stand in the way of the Left’s ambitions, they are branded illegitimate: the courts, the upper chamber of Congress, the police, borders, capitalism, even America’s military. What remains is raw power.
America is imperfect, but the DSA mistakes its flaws for its essence. Instead of building on the republic’s strengths, it seeks to uproot them in favor of ideological rule.
American Jews have rightly warned about the DSA’s anti-Zionism and antisemitism. Yet the danger extends to every citizen who values ordered liberty, constitutional government, public safety, private enterprise, secure borders, strong defense, or the rule of law.
America does not need a new constitution written by those who despise the old one. It needs renewed commitment to liberty under law, limited government, civic responsibility, free enterprise, religious freedom, and human dignity.
The DSA calls its platform democratic socialism. Americans should recognize it for what it is: an assault on the republic. And it must be vigorously opposed before these ideas move from the fringes to the mainstream.

I see a lot of comments on this subject and it’s getting tiresome. It’s the mid terms season so get off the couch and get to voting, and support the GOP. It’s the only way to stem this tide. Yes, they aren’t perfect either, but to keep our country, don’t give it to the Democrats. Our 250th birthday bash will be for nothing if we let it go this fall.

Unfortunately for the vast majority of Americans, we will be forced to hand over private property and the fruits of our labor to fund the ideals these misinformed young radicals prioritize above conventional needs and free enterprise. Only the elite few–those with the loudest and most obnoxious presentation–will decide what you and I can have or enjoy. Open the borders, legalize all the immigrants (including hundreds of thousands of criminals), do away with law enforcement and presumably all laws that protect the people, kill the fair elections process, let tyranny reign!
This can’t happen, please! Republicans had better get on the ball and organize community events advocating support for Constitutional freedoms. Every town–even my little rural town in North Carolina, stages an annual “No Kings” rally. This is a solidly red region, but I never see events that support conservative ideals. For every liberal nonsense event in our towns, we need to have rallies that fortify the liberties guaranteed by the Constitution…before the socialists tear it up.

Am I the only person that understands the name “Democratic Socialist” is an oxymoron?
Neither part of that name belongs in the United States. We are a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy. Our Constitutional Republic is light years beyond, and better, than any kind of democracy, socialist or not.
Most Americans that are registered Democrat are not paying attention to one serious fact….when Bernie Sanders said it was now the Democeat Socialist Party he was not kidding. I watched in the U.A.E. a man being beaten in the street for opening his store during a funeral for a leader of the country. I’ve seen people being shot in the back of their heads in Africa for being Christian. I’ve seen these firsthand, not someone told me. Their first such candidate was a bartender/actress named AOC . She answered an ad for an acting job . She did her interview and was approved for their support . They got her onto the ballot using Democrat Party Designating Petitions and thereby forced a Primary election against an incumbent well liked moderate Democrat . The DSA sees the Democrat party as ripe for take-over . Their success with Alexandria Orcasio Cortez was followed up with Mamdani . And later with three endorsees of his . I believe it is illegal for the DSA to use the word ‘Democratic‘ as it makes voters and members believe that it is part of the Democrat party . In NYS , it is illegal to use another party’s name or even a part of another party’s name .
