The Great American State Fair, taking place on the National Mall from June 25 to July 10, has announced a thrilling new addition to the lineup of events: a massive rodeo honoring the quintessential American tradition of the cowboy.

In a statement, Freedom 250, the organization putting on the Great American State Fair, explained that “Rodeo 250… will combine horsemanship, storytelling, western entertainment, music, and live rodeo demonstrations to tell the story of the people and traditions that helped shape the American frontier and the nation itself.” Rodeo 250 will include shows featuring “Spanish vaquero traditions to cattle drives, Wild West performances, charros, trick riding, Roman riding, trick roping, and the emergence of modern professional rodeo.”

Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach explained that the rodeo event will serve as a celebration of the values that helped build America.

“For generations, the cowboy has represented the very best of the American spirit — grit, determination, self-reliance, and optimism,” Krach said. “Rodeo 250 is more than a western showcase; it’s a celebration of the values and traditions that helped build our nation. As we commemorate our nation’s 250th anniversary, we’re proud to bring this uniquely American experience to the National Mall and share an important chapter of our nation’s story with visitors from across the country and around the world.”

Freedom 250 said that Rodeo 250 will take place daily at the American Heartland Arena during the fair. Shows will run Sunday through Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. There will be a special July 4 performance at 3 p.m. The rodeo is open to the public and admission is free.

Rodeo 250 will be produced by the Cervi Rodeo Company. The company has been known for producing professional rodeo shows for over 50 years. Binion Cervi of the Cervi Rodeo Company explained how important rodeo is to the history of the nation.

“The story of the cowboy is the story of America,” Cervi said. “As our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom, innovation, and perseverance, there is no better place than the National Mall to honor the men and women whose grit, determination, and spirit helped build the American West.”

Freedom 250 provided a list of performers who will be participating in the rodeo shows, including stagecoach performer Shawn Howard, announcers Justin McKee and David Sharp, flag presentation from Audra McNicholas, Roman rider Ginger Duke, horseback performer Gavin Graham, liberty horse performer Ruia Merritt, and many others.

The organization Freedom 250 is working together with the White House Task Force 250 as well as other federal government agencies to serve as the “official public-private partnership that connects, aligns, and amplifies national and local efforts to deliver the defining presidential moments of this anniversary year.”

Rodeo 250 is just one of many events planned to greet visitors as they arrive for the Great American State Fair. The event is expected to feature more than 150 exhibits from all 56 states and territories, along with family-friendly attractions, movie screenings, musical performances, military ensembles, spectacular flyovers, daily cultural programming, and an iconic Ferris wheel on the National Mall.

The event is free and open to the public.

So do the rest of us get to see any of this or is it going to be pay to view like the fights? And those poor rodeo riders having to go to DC. No one could be more out of place than a cowboy on the DC mall. This whole Trump celebration is out of control.
