Erika Kirk has had enough. And who can blame her?
For almost three months, right-wing influencers have trafficked in outlandish conspiracy theories about her slain husband and his assassination for engagement-bait.
This week, Erika stepped out for a press tour to promote Charlie Kirk’s last book — and to excoriate those who have forgotten that their family is the collateral damage of their irresponsible rhetoric. In graceful fashion, a tone she owes to no one (least of all the online agitators), Kirk appeared on Outnumbered on Fox News on Wednesday appealing to the tinfoil battalion to summon their better angels, leave Charlie Kirk’s colleagues and family out of it, and let the legal process do its work.
“I want to be able to have one thing left that is sacred to our family, to my in-laws, to my babies, and to my parents,” she said.
When Erika Kirk noted the “hundreds of thousands of dollars every single episode” that have been generated on content related to Charlie’s killing, everyone knew whom she was talking about.
Candace Owens has dragged Charlie out of the grave repeatedly to dissect his assassination under the pretense of caring about her “friend.” She’s gone from accusing Israeli intelligence of playing a role in Charlie’s assassination, to now implicating TPUSA’s upper management and the U.S. military. Her latest video is about a tipster, a military man under the pseudonym Harry Meyers, and how he claims to have spotted the suspicious scene of a dozen lieutenant colonels meeting in Arizona, where the Kirks live and Turning Point is headquartered, two days before Kirk was murdered. She attempted to keep painting the picture, however unclear, that the feds were in on it.
And Erika, saintly woman that she is, still gives Owens and other conspiracy theorists the benefit of the doubt.
“You know what I thought?” she said on air Wednesday. “I thought, ‘These people are all human, and they are trying to find the answer to something that happened that is so evil.’ They are trying so hard, and I get that. We are doing the same. Anytime we hear a lead, or anytime we hear anything, we send it to the authorities, ‘Please dig into this.’ No rock will be unturned. I want justice for my husband, for myself, for my family more than anyone else out there.”
Except Owens’s search for the truth is not earnest. In this age of independent journalism, anyone can play private detective, collecting sources and chasing scoops. But Owens entertains the most outlandish theories without substantiation, posing her declarative judgments as mere musings. For having such a loose evidentiary standard, she should welcome challenges, but she responds to those who question her theories by turning herself into the victim. Commentators who have identified the holes in her argument have been labeled complicit and profiteers, from right-wing podcaster Tim Pool to Allie Beth Stuckey to Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon. She’s sown a pundit civil war that gets uglier by the day.
Her trick is to make the audience think there is a huge revelation coming in every episode. She’s leaving them breadcrumbs, kernels of international intrigue, and supposed whistleblower testimonies, with a dramatic delivery that makes listeners feel like this is a James Bond movie. It’s a highly lucrative enterprise, if nothing else.
Talking about Harry Meyers’s supposed story, Owens wrote on Instagram, “I genuinely cannot see this as anything other than an immediately answered prayer. A story from a man in the military that is about to blow this case open.”
This is the podcast version of reality TV. It’s the Real Housewives of the Right. And it will go on forever if people with a moral backbone don’t band together, condemn this noxious shtick, and heed Erika Kirk’s words.
“This is a duty to my husband, and it is an absolute honor, and I will never back down,” Kirk said. “And so my message to them is to ‘stop.’ To ‘stop.’”
And yet, while online grifters have so readily weaponized Kirk’s public courage, forgetting that healing after tragedy is a complicated and non-linear process, she continues to petition for their understanding and, undoubtedly, their souls.

Enough is enough. Candace, I used to enjoy you but now you need to back down. Leave TPUSA and the Kirk family to the peace they deserve.
Bless her heart, she is being kind, understanding and courteous to those who do not deserve her gracious words to their statements. I cannot imagine what nightmare she must live every day in facing her life, children and her pregnancy while maintaining her composure to what has happened. Most widows are in shock as they mourn their husband’s death, and the death that took her husband was evil, but she has even forgiven this person, just as Jesus forgave and extended compassion to those who participated in his passion. What a lovely and compassionate young mother and widow. I know God will shower blessings on her and her family.
Owens challenged Turning Point into a debate regarding “evidence” she claims to have-any time any place they named. They did-Dec 15 at their office. Owens then came up with more wild claims. I now refuse to click on any of her videos-she is delusional.
God rest Charlie. bestow graces upon his family. This is going to be a rough Christmas for this wonderful family.
I don’t know what’s happened to Candace. She used to be bright, inquisitive & informing in several of her previous venues. Over the last couple of years she’s turned into a tin foil wearing conspiracy-around-every-corner lunatic.
Candace Owens, like Tucker Carlson and MTG, got into some locoweed somewhere or is higher that Hunter Biden! These loons disgrace the conservative movement. Were [are] they ever REALLY conservative or just hangers-on?

Candace Owens was, at one time, a voice we could trust. Now, I strongly recommend she be added to the Media Hall of Shame.

Even people like Pastor Jesse Lee Peterson have been mocking and criticizing Erika Kirk. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. SMH.

The stuff that is going around after Charlie’s assassination about Erika are awful, disgusting people that are making money of her tragedy. It’s enough to lose a husband but then to be vilified afterwards is beyond the pale. But isn’t that what democrats do? They twist everything. The truth is not in their vocabulary or in their mind. Only blame others for all the things that go wrong in America and the world. And Candace Owen’s has been sensationalizing rumors and innuendo for years. Big podcasts about Macron’s wife and where is the proof she promised. Of course she had to stop. Mrs Macron sued her. I don’t know what’s going on there. It’s none of my business. We will never know the truth, do we care? After 65 years we still don’t know for sure who killed JFK or MLK or RFK. Heck we can’t even with certainty say who did 9/11. Or Jan 6. Powers that be have let time pass so that most eye witnesses are dead or have forgotten details that a smart clever defense attorney can cut apart after such a long time. Justice should be swift. But it never is especially if it is a high profile case. And those in power made it happen. Like the pipe bomber in DC, the FBI under the dems had all the info to find him now 5 years later conspiracy theories are running rampant. And those guilty will never be prosecuted. Mangione and Robinson the same. Look at the murders of the 4 students in Idaho. This was thrown out that was thrown out. In the end these murderers have fans. Candace Owen’s and others of that ilk know this. So they get sued, more publicity and public opinion is on their side and money is rolling in. It’s a dirty world out there and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

It’s disgusting that the liberals look the other way at all the good Charlie Kirk did for young college students and America’s youth and want to pick apart every word to try to discredit him and somehow suggest that he deserved what he got. I feel so badly for this woman. She lost her beloved husband, she’s now raising her two little kids alone and she has a deranged podcaster demanding the First lady of a foreign country drop trou and prove she’s a woman and within a short span accusing Ericka and Charlie’s co-workers of killing him. Her list of those responsible is astonishing in it’s diversity. Tim Pool did a very good clip of explaining how her tactics are something from social engineering, and, they seem to work very well for her. Anyone that has spoken out against her wild theories is attacked on social media. Everything Ericka does is scrutinized and criticized from her outfits, her actions and her expressions. Unbelievable. And every wild accusation made is accompanied by a DEMAND it be responded to. The sense of entitlement is unreal. A spoiled, entitled, narcissistic brat. It comes across as though she wanted Charlie to marry her, he chose more wisely, and hell hath no fury like a woman scored. She wants to burn TPUSA down. She’s even called for donors to ask for their money back. What a great “friend” she was to Charlie.
The truth will just keep coming. Soon we will all find out.
Whether you believe anything about what Candace Owens has been uncovering or not, there are so many obvious questions and inconsistencies surrounding Charlie’s murder, the recent developments in his organization, the TP donors, the handling of the crime scene, the murder suspect, and the subsequent investigation. There is nothing wrong in questioning what is happening with this. I’m even more concerned with those people who are attacking her for asking questions that many of us have. Follow the money and continue to question those who you are not allowed to question.
It’s not like Owens and I are best friends, but what little interaction we’ve had fif nothing but emphasize my high opinion of her. She’s on to something here which time will reveal. For a highly intelligent Black FEMALE to be a conservative places her on the firing line. Anyone who has not listened to the last few months of Candace’ show does not have any right to expound on what she has said, or not said. She has facts, more so than what we have heard from the media or the authorities. She also has millions of listeners who have sent her tips on many and varied angles that she is looking into. If you listened to some of her shows, you would have questions too. The most telling are the facts that days before his death, Charlie told people he was going to die. Turning Point is never going to be the same. There will never be a replacement for Charlie- not Mikey and not Erika. If my husband were to be killed, I would not stop asking questions until every one was clearly answered. That is what Candace is trying to do for her friend. This myopic view is exactly what the Democrats do – tow the party line, keep the narrative and don’t ask questions!
