Bohemia, NY — [12/1/2025] — The AMAC Book Club is pleased to announce its December Book of the Month: Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, one of the most influential works of Christian thought in the modern era. As the holiday season invites reflection, faith, and gratitude, this classic serves as a fitting companion for readers seeking deeper meaning amid the season’s celebrations.

First published in 1952, Mere Christianity grew out of a series of BBC radio broadcasts Lewis delivered during World War II — messages of hope and reasoned faith that resonated with millions. In this enduring work, Lewis presents a clear, logical exploration of the core beliefs that unite Christians, focusing on moral law, virtue, forgiveness, and spiritual transformation.

“C.S. Lewis reminds us that the heart of faith is not found in division, but in shared truth,” said Rebecca Weber, CEO of AMAC. “Mere Christianity offers a thoughtful, accessible guide to the foundations of belief — a message that feels especially meaningful during the Christmas season.”

Throughout December, AMAC Book Club members can explore Mere Christianity through discussion questions, focusing on themes of humility, redemption, and the call to live with purpose. The book’s timeless insights continue to inspire readers of all backgrounds to reflect on what truly matters — not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.

As 2026 approaches, the AMAC Book Club invites readers to slow down, gather with loved ones, and engage in meaningful conversation about faith, morality, and the hope that lies at the heart of the Christmas story.

Come Jesus come, we need You today.

The greatest comfort for us comes from the fact that we can trust what Scripture says about both our faith and our future.

Our hope of eternal life rests on what the Bible reveals about Jesus’ death and resurrection and what it promises because of our belief.

We can confidently proclaim, “The Bible says!”

For our future, we rest on the same assurance. Jesus spoke this comforting promise to His disciples as representative of us, His church:

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

Meeting Jesus “in the air” and returning with Him to glory is our future (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18); the Bible assures us of it.

There’s no greater assurance than that:  Come Jesus Come, we need You right now.
