Making Blue States Red

Maine, like many blue states, has long suffered from reckless, uneven, increasingly ideological, and ultimately damaging leadership, which boils down to having little or no leadership. Hope springs eternal that a strong conservative will lead the state out of the desert. How is that done?

First, at every level of government, good people must be encouraged to step up and run. Not needed are more worn-out old pols, cue cards, old ideas, and names, especially not legacy names. Needed are fresh ideas, fresh conviction, and a willingness for good leaders to step up.

How do we do that? From school boards to legislative races, from the house and senate to the governor, a willingness to throw down, say “enough!” to untruths, lack of integrity, and misguided policies must be cultivated. From local school boards to those who go to D.C., red leaders must rise in blue states.

Second, understanding where the landmines are is vital, the bureaucracy’s bag of tricks, how they beat and outlast a good leader – so that leader can beat them at their own game. Reasonable people must be hard-bitten at times to get deadwood out, make government accountable. Seeing the problems clearly is one thing; fighting effectively to fix them is the aim. Knowing how is key.

Third, knowing what people really feel, their real pain points – not blasting them with shared opinions, but understanding what threatens their day-to-day “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” – is part of winning, and by winning, being able to fix what matters most.

In Maine – and many blue states – artificially high costs, driven by reckless spending, are a huge pain point, and will be until government becomes accountable, more limited, and rolls back waste, fraud, and endemic abuse.

In this state, everything from fuel oil to housing is out of reach, and getting worse, boxing out young people from home ownership, robbing seniors on fixed incomes of their homes. That can be reversed, and fast with good leadership.

Then, the state – like others under blue domination – has a shiveringly high level of drug trafficking and drug addiction, a turn to darkness that kills 40 to 70 kids a month here, and shatters families across the state. That can be stopped, then a get-well-stay-well plan offered for those affected.

Finally, driven by out-of-state influences, Maine’s education system – like many blue states – is near the bottom, and that is tragic, because it robs young people of hope and the American dream. At the state and local levels, a reversal is in order: accountability, efficiency, and outcomes.

People have many flow-down concerns, but public safety, trust in government, a chance to make a living, stay in a lifetime home, give kids a chance for the American Dream, home ownership, and a career, rank high. Listening is not just about letting people vent; it is about learning so you can act.

Fourth, understanding the institutional structures, the broken legislature, the broken executive branch, preparing to remove incompetent, ideological, and corrupt actors – getting good constitutional officers back in place – is central to success.

Finally, in this same vein, a complete, whole-of-government audit – looking to unearth what is plainly mass corruption within the executive, should be paired with a remake of the judiciary. In Maine, Supreme Court justices serve seven-year terms and often repeat.

The next conservative leader in Maine – optimally hard-charging and thoughtful at the same time – will have the chance to remove six of the seven left-leaning Maine Supreme Court justices, and should do so. The last one can be replaced at the start of a second term.

Bottom line: Blue states can be fixed, it just takes awareness, energy, and a determination that red leaders are historically better, and need to step up. That is why my life mission now is to restore good leadership – high integrity, high efficiency, lower costs, peace, and public safety  – to Maine.

We need to stop the red/blue, Republican/Dem titling and push the “Common Sense” for America theme. If people who are lifelong “Dem” or “No party” voters would understand that its the Republicans who represent the people and common sense, less government, more control over your own lives, states rights not the big bad fed, the Democrat party will die a natural death. The only thing keeping them alive is that people actually believe their lies. Heck, for the past 60 years, the Dems have convinced black Americans that they had their backs..even though history definitely proves otherwise.

RBC, nice article for fixing Maine’s situation that needs to be copied by other Blue states. The question is –“Will the voters get out and make the right choices to save their states?” Only time will tell.
Have a good 4th of July and weekend.

Will the voter wake up to see the situation as is and the mess he is in, that is the question, he is the only one to change anything and make it right. again.

Colorado’s influx of libturds from the West Coast states, combined with the gerrymandering, has turned the state into Cali-rado. I fear that there’s no turning it back to a red state.

In order to get good conservatives elected, the messaging has to be right. The liberals out there will never be convinced by logic, but a more emotional tone might appeal. That’s difficult for those of us who value commonsense and thoughtful reasoning.

America’s Blue States hold the highest , most tragic records in the country for the following:
1. The Highest costs of living
2. The highest and deadliest crime rates.
3. The highest numbers of illegals.
4. The highest numbers of drug-related deaths.
5. The highest numbers of unemployment.
6. The highest numbers of lazy, able-bodied parasites receiving taxpayer assistance.
7. The highest numbers of homeless.
8. The highest numbers of and the filthiest cities, neighborhoods and streets, covered with human waste, needles, and other garbage and trash.
9. The highest numbers of failing and failed schools.
10. The highest numbers of sexual perverts, deviates, and mentally ill males playing in female sports.
11. And the highest numbers of ignorantly arrogant, dumba$$ Left-wing, progressive, socialist, America-hating, Commie voters in the country.

And that is just a small list of reasons why Blue States are cess pools of consistent FAILED DEMOCRAT POLICIES. Their entire platform is based on INSANITY.

Only one thing that can turn this devastating horror around and that is IF all, or at least MANY, of these DUMBA$$ Demorat voters WISE UP AND SEE THE CAUSE OF ALL THEIR MISERY.
Sadly, it’s not going to happen.

The Republican Party needs to rise up and recognize ALL “Americans” regardless of color.
One step is to help, not keep a hold on, by instilling values and principles into their lives by recognizing and enhancing racial justice.
I know we will always have those that have no desire to better themselves, but I also know that there are those that are just victims of their environment.
So how do we help those that want to rise above? We need to saturate these areas with hope, love and respect. Perhaps move those that want to progress into better lives to truly become contributing members of society by placing them into better housing/places, among society. Why have these people flounder in the projects and amongst gangs? Not all want to live like that.

I just loved this piece by Robert Charles. Clearly laid out path for returning sanity to blue states. There is a surge of emerging young adults voters who are finally seeing the destruction dem ideology has brought to their states. It’s simply unsustainable

.Never wrestle with a pig. You get all dirty and the pig likes it. Stupid DemoKKKRAT voters seem to like getting dirty, because they still wrestle with LIEberal Socialist pigs every election and nothing changes. Anyone with a brain leaves these hellholes and the rest wallow in filth. Good riddance to all of them.

Trump campaigned that he would unify this nation & the more the Red/Blue states the more divided this nation becomes. We need a POTUS that is for all Americans and not just the ones that vote 100 percent as he tells you to. And please tell me what Trump considers the Golden Age for USA as I do not see this in a divided nation. The Golden Age of America was the years after WWII when Americans were unitied.
