Trump’s Gains with Black Voters Could Decide 2024—and the Future of American Politics

President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race and endorse Kamala Harris makes Harris – the first black and female vice president – the heavy favorite to become the new Democrat nominee. While conventional wisdom suggests that Harris would be able to reverse Biden’s dramatic polling collapse with black voters over the past four years, polling data indicates that a Harris-led ticket might actually continue former President Donald Trump’s surging popularity with that demographic.

Throughout Biden’s presidency, Harris has remained consistently less popular with blacks than Biden. A 2021 poll showed that just 38 percent of blacks believe Harris cares “a lot” about black people – compared to 78 percent who said the same of Obama.

According to a CBS News poll out this week, Trump is performing about the same against Harris as he was against Biden among black voters, winning about 21 percent of the demographic group.

That’s bad news for Harris, as some polls have indicated that Trump’s support among black voters has more than doubled since 2020 (up from 9 percent) while Biden saw a stunning 12-point drop (81 percent to 69 percent). Among younger black voters (ages 18 to 49), Trump now enjoys a historically unprecedented 25 percent support. Even the far-left Washington Post was forced to admit that Trump is well on his way to setting “modern-day records” with black voters this fall.

“No Republican presidential candidate in the past 50 years has approached receiving 20 percent of the Black vote,” the Post reported last year. “Since Republicans took 18 percent in 1972 and 16 percent in 1976, according to exit polls, they haven’t taken more than 12 percent of Black voters. Their average share over the past 50 years is 9 percent—about half of where Trump currently sits in the polls.”

While no one expects for Trump to win the black vote outright, even a five to 10 percent bump from 2020 could propel him to a sweeping electoral victory.

Some of Trump’s strength with black voters can likely be attributed to his campaign’s aggressive outreach and presence at events specifically targeting black voters. In June, for instance, he hosted a community roundtable discussion at a black church in Detroit in which he condemned Biden for being the “worst president for black people”—specifically noting the extent to which the border invasion has harmed the African American community.

Harris, as Biden’s vice president and Border Czar, owns all of these failures as well.

Trump also addressed the Black Conservative Federation in February, where he promoted his first-term accomplishments and articulated the high stakes of the November election for black communities.

“I’m thrilled to be here tonight with Crooked Joe Biden’s absolute worst nightmare: hundreds of proud, black, conservative American patriots,” he said at the event. “If you want strong borders, safe neighborhoods, rising wages, good jobs, great education, and the return of the American Dream, then, congratulations, you are a Republican. It’s pretty simple.”

Notably, under the Biden-Harris administration, real wages for black Americans have fallen by nearly six percent. The overwhelming majority of new jobs created under Biden have also gone to foreign-born individuals, many of whom are almost certainly illegal aliens. Naturally, Trump has been hammering these points on the campaign trail.

The Republican nominee has also been regularly touting his impressive history of achievement for the black community, which includes record low African American unemployment and poverty rates, a record increase in black homeownership, and funding for historically black colleges and universities.

Why, then, are so many black Americans flocking to the Trump campaign now, as opposed to this time four years ago?

In reality, many signs point to the fact that Trump’s success with black voters did not occur in a vacuum, but has been long in the making.

In the early months of 2020—before COVID-19 reached America’s shores and the nation’s Democrat-run cities descended into anarchy—Trump might in fact have been well on his way to achieving a historic share of the black vote. Despite Democrat-induced racial division that caused many voters to retreat back into their familiar ideological camps following the death of George Floyd, Trump still increased his share of the African American vote by 50 percent compared to 2016 (going from 8 percent to 12 percent)—an extraordinary feat given the context in which it occurred.

If it had not been for the so-called “summer of love” and the “fiery but mostly peaceful” protests that wrought havoc on American cities and communities for months on end, it is not unreasonable to speculate that Trump might have even more significantly outperformed his 2016 performance with black voters. As such, black voters’ recent movement away from Biden could reflect a more permanent shift toward Trump’s populist Republican Party that has been long in the making.

Barring another violence-fueled stunt by the left in the final stretch of this year’s campaign, Donald Trump could very well be on the verge not only of winning a historically large share of the black vote, but also of ushering in a political realignment that could shatter the entire Democrat coalition and transform American politics for decades to come.

“The Republican Party is bigger, stronger, more vibrant and more united than ever, ever, ever before,” Trump declared at a campaign rally in Doral, Florida, just days before he faced an attempted assassination. “Every day, we are welcoming more Americans to our ranks. African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, young people, old people, union members, non-union members—basically everyone is joining our movement because it’s a movement of common sense.”

If he manages to win a share of the black vote that even comes close to what current polling reflects, Trump’s words could be truer than anyone expects.

I have never understood just why the Blacks in America vote so strongly for the Democrat candidates. Any research into the history of the Democrat Party would expose its true hostility to all minority groups. The only time the Democrats even address these minority groups is just before an election cycle.
Kamla Harris comes from a family that subjugated Blacks. She could boast about her ancestors who exploited Black workers who were treated with less dignity than the serfs in czarist Russia. Any Black who supports this women next November 5th is honoring her family’s history of taking advantage of Black bondage.
In plain words, it’s embarrassing for ANY Black American to vote for a Democrat candidate.

If all people decide on hiring decisions based on merit not picking winners based on DEI standards, we will return to common sense. Electing a president is a hiring decision.

One more left wing administration will probably be the end of our republic. If you are a patriotic American, no matter your skin color, you better get out and vote Trump.

Black voters saw the dems calling the white race racists and they know that the majority of whites are not racists. Kameltoe convicted black criminals more than white. She uses her heritage when it is beneficial to her. Even lying that she was in the movement in the 1960’s with her parents. She accused Ole Joe in a debate of racism and then she accepted his offer as VP. She has called young voters between the ages of 18-24 stupid. Take note you youngsters, where you are ranked in her mind and policies of Kameltoe going forward. Black voters are seeing where the blacks are placed in the dem party and their leaders. They see being used as it serves them to gather votes. After that they are forgotten. The dems have no heart for the working class. Obiden’s address to the nation showed that. The truth was hidden from the people and their own aggrandizement was at the forefront in the speech. His grandiose plan for the next 6 months sounds like he is God and will better the world in 7 days. The brainwashing they are doing day in and day out, nobody believes them anymore. We all have brains and see right through their deception. Everyone. Black or brown, Asian or white or indigenous people. We are onto you. Truth is winning out over lies. Love over hate. VOTE TRUMP-VANCE.

The truth is that we are all Americans, black, brown, white, and should not be separated by the color of our skin but united by the love for our country. That is what America is and that is what President Trump and Vice President Vance will restore when they MAGA.

Anytime someone like “Aaron Flanigan” mentions what ‘current polling’ reflects yet won’t sign his name to his own commentary, I get nervous.

I will be interested to see what steps the Trump campaign takes during the next four months to increase the Black GOP turnout in November.

The democrats USED to be a party for the people! Then Obama was elected at all racism rose! You’d think he’d realize that racism wasn’t got him elected! I grew up in W TX and E New Mexico – they’re weren’t many blacks of any race there back then, but the one’s that were there were liked by all of us! They were just boys and girls! They were our friends! We got along with no problems! I know some of the southern states had problems, KKK, etc, which was sad… But ALL people don’t like being lied to, like Biden and K. Harris have done to the people of this country! Praying Trump will bring this country back to what it was and could be again! HAPPY USA!!!!!

AS DJT said in 2016 and 2020, “What the h*** do you have to lose by voting for me?” DIMMs, the party of the KKK, slavery and Jim Crow, have done NOTHING for blacks at large. They play up to race hustlers like Jackson and Sharpton and the terror mobs of BLM but keep mainstream blacks in failing schools and crumbling housing!! WHY do normal blacks not see what is going on right before their eyes?

I note that a number of “man on the street” snap interviews uncover the surprisingly increasing sentiment amongst blacks that Biden hasn’t done jack for them but Trump does have a positive track record (no matter how the left wants to spin it) with addressing black issues. Some even indemnity as having voted Democrat their whole lives but have had enough.

this is to all of you who are apprehensive about President Trump – he really loves this country (i am his age and have seen videos thru out the years, with him expressing how patriotic he is) Trump truly cares about all people in America and wants safety for all! Trump doesn’t want illegals coming here – has nothing to do with being racists – the man is a realist! President Trump is sincere about doing the right thing bc he belongs in lawfulness! Please please if you care and love your family, children and this country vote for this man who keeps his promise – i am not with any political poll place, i’m just a concerned citizen like many of you. It breaks my heart, to see this country go down the tubes – it’s like a bad nite mare! you have to see how horrific the left is in “leading” this country! GOD BLESS AMERICA – TRUMP 2024

african americans are not dumb and a lot of them woke up when trump was elected , first of they seen firsthand that they did better under trump than they did under biden , they also are not comfortable with the costant persecution of trump which to many older african americans brings back memories about the persecution they suffered.
But its not just this but also that they realize that a lot of policies that harris supports are disproportionally hurt black americans from a ban on fracking to ban of gas powered cars

In all probability, black America is getting tired of being “categorized” as being “owned” by the democratic party. Black Americans see themselves overlooked in favor of others as in Hispanics and the new influx of illegal immigrants. They should, as they are the ones who will suffer most on the economic scale.

Unfortunately for Democrats, black men know and understand how black women operate. They know it only too well. And they do not like it or want it. So it will all depend the % difference between black male and female voters making it to the polls.

As Joe famously said: “If you don’t vote for me, you’re not Black”…. Democrats do not deserve anyone’s vote. They need to earn it, but they don’t. They will promise the sun and the moon at election time and once elected, are MIA.

First off Camel toe is not BLACK. Imagine if you will A voter base so ignorant that even when their candidates promise to take away their guns, their money, and leave their boarders wide open, they will still vote for them simply because they are DEMOCRATS.
I got that from a twilight zone meme. But is so true due to the lack of good honest media.

By the way this also applies to Hispanics whom are not productive citizens and so-called white trash in Appalachia. Just ask the actual hard working people of West Virginia that you see on Youtube what is going on there with the deadbeats that oppose them.

Why is it that “poor” people can’t figure out that the “help” from kindly people friendly democrats is the reason they remain poor Dems need them to stay in that category in order to get their votes. Democrat of Harry Truman kind has been dead for three generations now and still gets their vote.

Blacks will never in this generation vote their conscience as a whole. Too much free welfare floating around which induces gang activity, which in turn repeats the vicious cycle. Add in absentee or non-existent fathers and the family structure crumbles, and illicit behavior is bound to not only seep in but take root. Compassionate people of all colors need to act responsibly and stay out of lawless imprisonment in order to contribute to society rather than leach off of it. Until most black folks, whom by now should be able to see the light of true ‘wokeness’ start not only voting but acting non-criminally, then segregate them as they will choose to do so anyway, and give them their own president too, Harris or whatever. Black run cities are awash with this nonsense currently. Don’t try to change their minds whatsover, but do not stand in their way also. Let them reap the consequences of their personal choices. Do not believe the ‘polls’, blacks generically would consider it a betrayal of their very race to vote with a clear conscience for any white person that wasn’t also a socialist or a communist.
