While much of the political world watches the Biden-Trump fisticuffs, the House of Representatives voted “yea” on the most critical legislation of 2024: the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, which takes vital steps to ensure that only Americans vote in American elections.
Foreign nationals are already illegally on voter rolls across 50 states (and the District of Columbia and territories where voters participate in electing the president) thanks to loopholes in the National Voter Registration Act that do not require documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration.
The evidence of foreign nationals voting in U.S. elections is clear. Decades of research into voter rolls and federal law have established these facts. One study shows that it has been going on at least since 2008.
A recent report from House Speaker Mike Johnson clearly shows that noncitizen voting is a serious danger to election integrity, national security and voter confidence.
Johnson and Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, the bill’s principal author, shepherded the SAVE Act through the House. It is now in the hands of Sen. Mike Lee of Utah. We now call on all Senate members to pass it and for President Biden to withdraw his veto threat.
The SAVE Act will close many loopholes being exploited to register foreign nationals. For example, when noncitizens comply with the “honor system” on federal registration forms and answer “no” to the citizenship question, many states register them automatically. And there are vast numbers of undocumented aliens and noncitizen residents automatically being added to state voter lists when getting driver’s licenses or filing for public assistance — often without realizing it is happening,
Ballots intended for noncitizens illegally registered are susceptible to exploitative manipulation by the advocacy groups that got them registered. This act of illegal voting also subjects these individuals to deportation or being refused citizenship during the naturalization process.
By requiring states to obtain proof of citizenship to register to vote, the SAVE Act stops all of this. Among its many common-sense measures, the act requires state election officials to confirm citizenship status before providing voter registration forms or adding people to the voter rolls.
The bill helps citizens by accepting various documents to register to vote in federal elections.
The act supports America’s newest citizens by requiring the Department of Homeland Security to notify a state chief election official whenever an individual has been naturalized to ensure they can exercise their right to vote.
The act deters illegal ballot harvesting operations by directing DHS to conduct removal proceedings if a noncitizen has been identified as having registered to vote in federal elections.
These are common-sense measures that Americans of every political persuasion support. Yet, House Democrats, ignoring their constituents’ wishes, steadfastly oppose the bill.
The SAVE Act is an excellent start to a long-overdue need to fix a national voter registration system that never contemplated a federal government ignoring our immigration laws. It is a common-sense response to years of state and federal officials ignoring the growing problem of foreign nationals influencing American elections.
No matter one’s political views, all Americans deserve to have their votes secured, not canceled or stolen by foreign nationals flooding the voter rolls.
As if Americans’ heads aren’t spinning enough with the latest crisis engulfing the executive branch and with millions pouring into the country illegally from more than 150 countries, the threat of foreigners influencing America’s elections in 2024 is not theoretical. It is real.
The SAVE Act can help calm the waters of a nation in crisis.

Yes the big question is what will “Chucky Schumer” do with the bill in the Senate. Will he just sit on it like he did the H.R. 2 bill or will he make a concerted effort to help get it passed. From what we have seen in the House only five democrats voted for this bill which makes one very weary of the senate democrats position. Many on here have asked “why another voting bill”. Well to me this bill makes it very clear you have to show proof of citizenship when being resister to vote. Too many states are making it too easy for noncitizens to vote.
Any Congress member who votes against the SAVE Act should be tried and convicted of treason against the United States of America. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
Old Joe has said that regardless of congressional voting, IF it makes it to his desk he will veto it! Joe’s pens need to be hidden from him until we can legally remove him (and her) from power!

The Left-Wing media used to follow this and actually post the number of illegals who voted. I saw a report after the 2016 election that it was estimated 6 Million illegals voted on the Left Coast. Naturally they quit posting this and don’t really care now.
While we can wholeheartedly subscribe to ensuring the sanctity of only citizens voting, which should be codified via legislation like SAVE, until the house, senate and executive office are controlled by like minded representatives of our republic, we are screwed.
Now we know how come O was elected president in 2008. He was a nobody that was put up on stage at the 2004 convention and became president 4 years later. No questions asked. But illegals voted. Not themselves but someone for them because they found the loophole, it has been stopped but can the senate stop it with kameltoe the deciding vote? I wrote my senators and congressman. I doubt anyone cared for they are all dems. You know dems don’t listen to the other Americans in their state. But you got to keep on trying. I will send another email to tell them my point of view on this. The most important privilege a citizen can do is to vote and they make it into a free for all. Not a privilege and honor.

So it’s been quite some time since Obama pushed through the Motor Voters registration gambit. Anyone who gets a driver’s license will be asked if they want to register to vote, but some States it’s just automatically done.
We’ve had foreign exchange students get registered in Michigan and other areas.

Machines are tools that people use programs and papers to tabulate the Vote. Papers are supposed to be only one type. Not many types. Mail in ballots are usually machine folded in an envelope with a personal signature. People check the signature. People open the envelopes. People process the paper.
Programs tell machines what to do.

It will take more than a bill from congress. We have immigration laws which are being ignored and states that think that it’s appropriate for non citizens to vote in local elections. It definitely sends the wrong message.If the Democrats don’t believe that securing our borders or our elections is a fools errand, then they should immediately remove themselves from our government. Their job and oath of office states that they must protect and preserve the constitution and protect our country from our enemies both foreign and domestic. There is nothing that says they can pick and chose which laws they can ignore.

It is unbelievable that anyone except citizens can vote in our elections. Voting should be on Tuesday from 7am to 7pm. No extensions, no early voting. If the vote isn’t cast and counted on that Tuesday, it doesn’t count. You must show proof that you are a citizen of the U.S.A. in order to vote!

Considering that some 6-8 million non-citizens voted in our elections prior to 2016, and knowing that Obiden’s Admin. has allowed in another 20 million (a low estimate) illegals since 2020, how many MORE illegals do YOU suppose are poised to Vote in Nov. ’24??? And how do you think most ALL of THEM will vote, well-knowing that it’s Dems who have been ‘funding them’ when they come through our borders unimpeded??? could EASILY make the added ‘difference’ in Voter Rolls for Dems! FOREVER! Why would Dems EVER vote to STOP THIS??? BUT we need to AT LEAST get them ON RECORD as opposing this small measure to try to inhibit ‘Illegal Voting’ according to our U.S. Constitution!!!
