We Need Republicans to Deliver Our New Leadership

As November elections approach, the glaring and deeply troubling headline I see is Americans becoming increasingly alienated from their own country.

There has never been a greater need for a new generation of leaders to restore clarity about American principles and plant them in American hearts and minds.

The Wall Street Journal reports that all branches of the U.S. military are coming up short in recruiting goals.

The U.S. Army will fall short by 25%, meaning 20,000 soldiers. The Air Force and Navy are also falling short.

The WSJ offers various technical explanations as the source of the recruiting problems facing the U.S. military. But most troubling is the observation that, per surveys, “fewer than one in 10 youth are inclined to serve.”

It makes sense to expect that kids growing up in a country where they are taught that they live in an evil, unjust, racist nation will have diminishing enthusiasm to put on the uniform, no matter how much they are paid.

A Gallup poll from June showed only 38% of our citizens saying they are “extremely proud” to be an American. This is the lowest since Gallup first did this survey in 2001, when 55% said they are “extremely proud.”

On a similar note, a new Gallup survey shows trust in all branches of our federal government has cratered.

The percentage expressing trust in our judicial branch stands at 47%; in our executive branch, 43%; and in the legislative branch, 38%.

It is the first time all three branches of government fell below 50% in trust.

Gallup notes that when it first did this survey in 1972, at least two-thirds expressed trust in each branch of the federal government.

This is a leadership crisis.

Former Democratic Party congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard drew attention with her announcement that she is pulling out of the Democratic Party.

In an interview on Fox with former Republican congressman Trey Gowdy, Gabbard ticked off her complaints about the Democratic Party, including her concern that Democrats do not carry the banner for “individual liberties,” “limited government” and our “God-given rights enshrined in our Constitution.”

Some have noted the precedent of Ronald Reagan leaving the Democratic Party.

But Reagan left the Democrats and became a Republican.

And Gabbard? She says she is now an independent.

It’s tough to fathom the genuineness of Gabbard’s disillusionment with her former party, given that she endorsed socialist Bernie Sanders for president in 2016.

Reagan articulated a clear vision of America, about limited government and individual freedom, and then fought to capture leadership in the Republican Party so the party would become the platform for these ideals.

This option certainly is open to Gabbard. But, no thank you. She’s an independent.

Americans are disillusioned because too many so-called leaders are playing games with them.

We need leaders who understand and feel, at the deepest level, what our nation is about. A great definition of leadership/heroism that I once read says that it is someone who embodies “by the cast of destiny, the virtue of their whole people in a great hour.”

Inflation is a sure sign of a corrupt political culture. It begins with irresponsible government spending and printing of money.

Alongside our corrupt political culture is the corruption of our society with the breakdown of marriage and family, and the disappearance of children.

A free society is not about economic issues or social issues but both.

In Reagan’s farewell address to the nation he said, “All great change in America begins at the dinner table.”

He knew that in America, the family passes on the values of freedom.

The press wants to focus the upcoming elections on individual races.

This election must be about party. Republicans versus Democrats.

Voters need to turn the country back to Republicans and pave the way for new, great American leaders.

I would agree that the Republican Party needs new leadership in the Congress. Neither Mitch McConnell nor Kevin McCarthy are the right people to be in the leadership of Congress going foward. Both are what would charitably be described as “Institutionalists”, who are committed to preserving the status quo of “go along to get along” with a Democrat Party that has finally dropped any pretense of being anything other than America’s Socialist Party in all but name. As such, both McConnell and McCarthy seem all too comfortable with compromising constitutionally conservative principles of a much smaller federal government, with greatly reduced powers over the American people, and real fiscal discipline versus the Democrat vision of a United States completely transformed into a socialist democracy where the federal government dictates to the people, on a daily basis, what is permissible or not according to the whims of the Democrat Party leadership.

I understand what the WSJ means by leadership change in the Republican Party, as their editorials often call for a less Reagan and Trump pro-growth, pro personal freedom policies and more of a return to the type of Republican Presidents who basically kept the seat warm for Democrats and raised taxes to pay for previous Democrat administration’s spending sprees. So sorry I can’t endorse that ludicrous goal. We need a RINO in the White House, like we need 4 more years of Dementia Joe wandering aimlessly on stage as POTUS.

Thomas Jefferson once said “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” This analogy was true then as it is now.
Our form of government has been distorted to the point where it would no longer be recognizable to our founders and to some extent we, who know history and constitutional government. Compromise and balanced rule of law no longer exists. For democrats, remaining in power seems their primary purpose, keeping in mind that it’s their policies which ruined this nation but trying to convince us only their party that is capable to fix their folly. Republicans are by no means innocent, deficit spending, bending over compromise and soft on arguments has been their calling card. No wonder Americans has lost faith in our leadership.

We need Term Limits in all areas including Supreme Court. It is like hiring your Gardner the longer they work for you the less they do

We can’t just vote for Republicans. We need to vote for conservatives or we end up with people like Romney, McConnel, McCarthy etc.

I would like to find out if anybody else suspects this, meaning that the Democratic party has gone about doing Everything Wrong.

I think that there is something else going on, these people “Democrats” and in particular the Obvious Socialists ( progressives ) it just seems to scripted and obvious, Conservatives, GOOD, Liberals / Progressives BAD ( which of course they are SO Obviously Tyrants ).

It’s at least been obvious to me that this whole Administration has been advertising their Incompetence, stupidity, and down right treasonous actions with no one calling a trader a trader.

Has anyone that you can think of in history EVER done So Much in such a short time to bring this country SO Close to being ruined? Every alphabet agency has been corrupted some A LOT more than others but the amount of corruption is staggering.

The time of trusting our Government ( and or Representatives ) is GONE, every one of them needs to be watched and Term Limits needs to be enacted.

BUT if we can not get a term limit law passed then I say we put EVERY person that wants to run for a public office to take a test to find out if they show signs of being either a psychopath or signs of a sociopath, YES they can tell with a brain scan, I truly feel that there are to many of them in power already.

Look what has happened already, the actions of some of these idiots in positions of power are staggering WE Have GOT to get a handle on this before it is to late. And please if you think I am wrong and just seeing things prove it.

What with the foolish debacle of the USA’s Afghanistan withdrawal, leaving tens of thousands of Americans wondering why they fought and killed died and were wounded for 20 years, plus the new “woke” military with all of the pronoun nonsense and experienced veterans canned because they don’t want to be forced into taking a questionably safe and effective vaccine, why would any normal Americans choose to enlist in the armed forces now? It’s not complicated to figure out.

The Repubs blew it when we elected Trump. Paul Ryan became House Speaker and promptly became Romney’s lacky by stopping anything Trump wanted to do. So ,for the Repubs just winning an election dosen’t mean much. The question is what will they do with the power. Run their months or actually DO something

I have to remind this crowd every night that we elected Biden. Frankly, I don’t blame Biden. I
blame we voters. Its not the DC crowd that worries me. The voters worry me.

The adoption of a Central Bank Digital Currency is the biggest threat to our Republic and the Bill of Rights. Nonetheless, Senator Rubio and Scott have refused to date to state their positions:

Sen. Cruz Introduces Companion Legislation to Rep. Emmer’s Bill Prohibiting Unilateral Fed Control of a U.S. Digital Currency
March 30, 2022

emmer.house.gov/press-releases?ID=F27590F0-8B13-4841-9EEF-3E60A42AB0F5

Washington, D.C.— Today, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced companion legislation to Representative Emmer’s (MN-06) bill prohibiting the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) directly to individuals. Representative Tom Emmer first introduced this legislation on January 18, 2022.

Specifically, the legislation prohibits the Federal Reserve from developing a direct-to-consumer CBDC which could be used as a financial surveillance tool by the federal government, similar to what is currently happening in China. The bill aims to maintain the dollar’s dominance without competing with the private sector.

Representative Emmer said, “I’m glad Senator Cruz has agreed to offer a Senate companion to my legislation limiting the Fed’s authorities. The Fed must only craft a CBDC framework that is open, permissionless and private – meaning any digital dollar must be accessible to all, transact on a blockchain that is transparent to all, and maintain the privacy elements of cash. Anything less puts Americans on the road to CCP-style financial authoritarianism.”

Yes, we need Republican leadership. One that is not afraid and lukewarm about issues that frankly, are no brainers. It has become apparent that we lack such leadership; the Dems know this, and are taking full advantage.

All that may be true but when we elected Trump and a repub controlled house and senate in 2016, Paul Ryan, speaker of the house and a Romney clone, decided he had to save the nation from Trump.
He stood in the way of every Trump proposal. So gaining control is useless if DC dumbs it up as they did in 2016. And then the dims run to the courts every time they lose the vote. So our “checks and balances” can actually do damage although, overall, I firmly concur with the checks-balances system. Its actually brilliant.
