The Politicized FBI Ain’t What It Used to Be

WASHINGTON, DC, Nov 9 — For decades, the FBI has had a trustworthy, incorruptible image until the era of former Director James Comey continuing in the Biden Justice Department. The political bias of some of its senior officers and agents has sullied its reputation, causing their more faithful colleagues to blow the whistle on them. They are calling out their bosses.

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the stewardship of Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, is broken,” according to Congressman Jim Jordan [R-OH], the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee. He tweeted that message, referring to a massive report disclosing “alleged politicization and anti-conservative bias in the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ),” reports The Hill.

The report cites whistleblowers who say the current FBI leadership is “rotted at its core,” that it has created a “systemic culture of unaccountability” and that is “rampant [with] corruption, manipulation, and abuse.”

The 1,000 page report reveals that:

• A multitude of whistleblowers have approached Judiciary Committee Republicans with allegations of political bias by the FBI’s senior leadership and misuses of the agency’s federal law-enforcement powers. These whistleblowers have risked their careers out of fidelity to principle and a commitment to restoring public trust in the FBI. 

• The FBI is clearing the Bureau of employees who dissent from its woke, leftist agenda…and is actively seeking to “purge” FBI employees holding conservative views—or, in President Biden’s view, those who are a “threat to American democracy”— because they hold conservative views. The FBI has even taken retaliatory actions against at least one whistleblower who has spoken out.

• Whistleblowers have explained how the FBI’s “political meddling” “is dragging the criminal side [of the Bureau] down” as resources are “pulled away” from real law-enforcement duties. As a prime example, one whistleblower described how he was “told that child sexual abuse material investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies” so that he could work a Washington-directed politically charged case instead. Such a mis-prioritization is not only a dereliction of duty, but it is a grave disservice to the victims of crimes that do not advance the FBI’s political agenda.

The report comes in the wake of numerous incidents that clearly indicate a new bias on the part of the agency. In one case, 87-year-old Eva Edl, a NAZI concentration camp survivor, was arrested by the FBI for praying outside abortion clinic. Another pro-lifer, Paul Vaughn, is said to have been arrested for protesting in the vicinity of an abortion clinic. The FBI went to his house to make the arrest in front of his family. TownHall says “Vaughn was handcuffed on the porch in front of his kids after FBI agents raided the Vaughn family property while carrying assault rifles and side arms. Three of Vaughn’s children were outside walking through the backyard when an FBI agent armed with an AR-15 confronted the kids and questioned them. Several kids were asleep upstairs, and one child ran to her mother frantically crying, ‘The FBI is here, and they are arresting Daddy.’ Vaughn’s wife remarked, ‘They traumatized me and my children intentionally.  We will never forget this’.”

These actions and many more were enabled by what is known as the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances [FACE] Act. In a letter written by Congressman Chip Roy [R-TX] and signed by House and Senate lawmakers, he wrote we are “deeply concerned with the continued politicization of The Federal Bureau of Investigation [FBI]. The recent rise in high-profile FBI investigations into pro-life Americans raises well-founded concerns that the FBI has amassed too much power and has become a partisan cudgel wielded by the Biden Administration at the behest of progressive activists against political opponents and dissenters.”
