President Joe Biden finally delivered his “voting rights” speech in Atlanta, telling a crowd:
“The next few days, when these bills come to a vote, will mark a turning point in this nation’s history. Will we choose democracy over autocracy, light overshadows, justice over injustice? I know where I stand. I will not yield. I will not flinch. I will defend your right to vote, our democracy against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And the question is: Where will the institution of the United States Senate stand?”
These were little more than the mendacious ravings of a demagogue.
Biden’s argument is predicated on the idea that anyone who continues to support the legislative filibuster — a Senate rule the president defended for nearly 50 years — or voter ID laws, or time restrictions on mail-in ballots, or consistent hours for early voting, or bans on ballot harvesting, is no better than Bull Connor. “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace?” was the false choice offered by a man who repeatedly praised Wallace, and other segregationists, early in his career.
The president suggested that anyone opposing the Democrats’ voting rights bill was not only a bigot but a seditious “domestic” enemy of the United States — a designation that now probably includes six Democratic senators, if not more. The president pronounced the Senate a “shell of its former self,” lamenting that the GOP had used the filibuster over 100 times in the past year, skipping the inconvenient fact that Democrats had done so over 300 times the preceding four years. Biden, “the institutionalist,” then unloaded a litany of completely misleading contentions about voting laws to justify his abandonment of principle.
And the reason Biden is compelled to lie about virtually every aspect of the Georgia voting law is that the specifics are actually quite popular and do not inhibit a citizen from casting a ballot. Most of the requirements Biden contends are now compulsory for democracy to properly function had only been instituted in the past few years — many of them only during the last election. Biden’s comparing Jim Crow to contemporary voter integrity laws is detestable. One was a violent suppression of the minority vote; the other was giving voters only 11 weeks before an election to request a ballot and declining to keep expanding voting into the weekend.
At this pace, Democrats will be arguing that the disenfranchisement of illegal immigrants is the manifestation of the Dixiecrat agenda by 2024.
ID requirements are what the left detests most, yet this is the provision they talk about least. Why? Most polls find overwhelming majority support for limiting early voting hours and requiring photo IDs to vote. Fascists in Colorado and Connecticut and most other states, not only Georgia, still demand a person provide government-issued ID to vote. They, just like Georgia, allow voters without ID to provide the last four digits of their Social Security number, a bank statement or utility bill, a paycheck, or any other government document with their name and address. (Maybe if states allowed vaccine passports to suffice, Democrats would be up for it.)
But most Americans — most people in the free world — have believed it eminently reasonable to expect voters to identify themselves before participating in democracy. If Democrats believed the vote was sacred, so would they. It’s the Democrats who are advocating overturning the will of voters in Georgia and elsewhere. Let’s remember that HR 1 “voting rights” bill would have compelled states to allow ballot harvesting, to ban voter ID laws, to allow felons to vote, and to count mail-in votes that arrive up to 10 days after Election Day.
The president sprinkled his speech with feigned indignation and lots of podium pounding. Unable to contain his penchant for fabulism, he seemed to joke about being arrested (“the first time”) during a civil rights march. Maybe Biden was confusing that incident with the time he wasn’t arrested in South Africa for trying to see Nelson Mandela or didn’t defend the Black Panthers in court or never participated in a sit-in.
But one can suspect most Democrats understand well that this is all a nasty bit of cynical political theater since there is little chance of nuking the filibuster. Biden’s attempt to launch his entire agenda in a single reconciliation moonshot stuffed with progressive extravagances failed to get a simple majority. Stymied, the president has decided to preemptively undermine confidence in the 2022 and 2024 elections, smearing half the country as racists while cosplaying as a civil rights hero. “The Big Lie,” indeed. The consequence of this will be the further deterioration of trust in elections. More division. More anger.

The Biden speech was simply the latest showcase for the hate and vitriol the left has for this country and its people. That they cannot simply rule by decree and have to held hostage by a Constitutional limitation on their power, that they despise, is reflected in the ever more ridiculous and outlandish claims.
That Biden was the messenger was unimportant, aside from it being yet another national embarrassment for us all to endure. As most people capable of independent thought have known since the beginning of his presidency, that Biden simply repeats whatever someone else has written for him to say. That he frequently shouts and becomes overly agressive in tone is reflective of his dementia progressing. Whatever drug cocktail they currently have him on, to manage his deteriorating mental condition, will become less effective over time as his dementia worsens. That we, as a country, have chosen to endure at least another 3 years of this theater of the absurd is what I find most disturbing.
President Biden (as sickening as it gets) is a hypocrite and stowing a divide in our country like no other politician ever before. He’s calling out the Republican Party and conservatives for trying to determine how he could be legally elected when there’s so much to question about the outcome, and rightfully so. As for voting “rights”, Democrats want to force every state to make their cooked methods for stealing the 2020 election the law of the land. It’s as if the U.S. Constitution never explicitly left voting laws up to the states.
If that law is passed, I predict future elections will have near 100% turnout with near 100% victories for Democrats.

I am required to show my ID to use a credit card at many restruants and every time I take care of business with any government office or bank. The bank ID requirement is also a government requirement. The government wants to verify who I am and connect me with my accounts. Again, OUR GOVERMENT, the Biden government, requires banks to gain positive picture ID and personal information, including a social security number, residence and even estimates of potential income. Yet, this same Democtate version of our government wants no ID requirements to vote, WHY? Anyone who believes today’s elected Democrates support anything that benefits the American people is either simple minded, totally ignorant or stupid! The DNC simply wants power and wealth for themselves and the elitists who have been supporting them in their efforts to gain single party rule in America. These are the same tactics Russia, China and other communist and/or socialist groups used to replace their governments, fear, propaganda and out right lies to gain power. Stalin said once, “What controls the outcome of an election isn’t the number of people who vote, it’s the people who count the votes.” Voter fraud did impact the outcome of the 2020 election. There is no question it happened, with no way to prove the discrepancies, one way or the other. Biden became the president, but he didn’t win the election by the American people. Too many election changes and allowing resident voting, not citizen voting, in most of the Democrat states and counties. This is where resident voting was push. If you lived at an active address in these states and counties you could get a ballot sent to the address and harvested. Resident voting is against the law, but it was allowed in 2020. Actually, Puttin could have filled out an address on a ballot request and been sent a ballot. That’s why people chant, “Let’s Go Brandon”, they don’t beleive in that process, and regardless what the Democrates keep saying, President Trump didn’t sow the seed of dought, the reaction of the Democtates and the DNC did. However, their are still some American Democrates representing their states who were taught American civics in K-12 or college and have actually read and live by the Constitution and our Bill of Rights, which governs our Republic. This is the last opportunity these socialist Democrates will have to take over American politics and push their agenda on all Americans so, citizen voting with proper vetted ID is an absolute must. Resident address and names on a utility bill isn’t a vetted ID. However, a bank statement with resident address and the last four digits of the social security number could be vetted. Citizen only voting in American elections is the only way for Americans to trust elections again. So, any American who wants to vote should reach out today and get a vetted ID in process or find the records they need to verify they are citizens and have a right to vote!
All this voting rights stuff is giving me a headache. To make it real easy, why not just send the “ballots” to any foreign country that wants them. Then, EVERYONE gets the right to vote, and we wouldn’t have to track all the voting irregularities. What a country!
