Inflation Reduction Act-A Boondoggle of a Bill

One thing the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will not do is reduce inflation. According to Dr. Kevin Roberts, Ph.D., president of The Heritage Foundation, it is a “boondoggle of a bill” that will have a decidedly negative financial impact on seniors, working class, and middle-class families.

In an interview on the Better For America podcast with Rebecca Weber, CEO of the Association of Mature American Citizens, Dr. Roberts said that with endorsements from leftist organizations such as AARP, the effect of this new law will be terrible and long-lasting. It’s “a giveaway to so-called green companies, companies who might be engaged in energy sources that 40 or 50 years down the road are sweet-sounding and sort of fun, but they make our cost of living higher.”

He pointed out that in the days leading up to the passage of the bill, Democrats kept telling us that its purpose was to deal with the unprecedented inflation that came with the election of President Biden a year and a half ago. However, “since its passage, almost all that messaging has turned to how great this is for the environment, for so-called climate change, for the so-called Green New Deal. This is but a small down payment on AOC’s real price tag for her ideal Green New Deal, which she said would cost $10 trillion, basically over half of America’s gross domestic product … This bill is designed not to fight inflation. It’s not designed to help seniors or any Americans with their medication. It is designed to reorder America so that we simply don’t have access to reliable sources of energy. Why? Because it is the agenda of radical socialist members of Congress whose numbers are increasing to change the way we live.”

For that reason, in particular, he said it is important that we get out and vote so that, come November, we make sure conservative candidates are elected — men and women with a positive, ambitious governing agenda to actually deal with inflation. We need to take power and money from Washington, DC and return control to the American people.

“That’s what The Heritage Foundation exists to do every day. We love AMAC as partners because you have the same mindset. We must get back to common sense. I believe that we are going to galvanize public support against the legislation and against those who voted for it. It’s important that we not lose hope, if we can, in this election cycle and the next and put into office men and women who have fiscal common sense.” Dr. Roberts believes in his fight and the people. He believes that there is still time “to save this great republic.” He further thanked AMAC for the work we do for our great country and was grateful to be a part of Better For America. “I just want to encourage people not to despair. While our window of opportunity is narrow, it’s there. We just have to have the political courage to take advantage of it,” Dr. Roberts concluded.

I think we can now drop the Inflation Reduction Bill moniker and just call this scaled down Build Back Bettter Bill by what the Democrats always intended to name the bill: The Climate Change and Taxation Empowerment Bill. That more accurately describes what this legislation is all about. Even the Democrats running around enjoying their latest victory of the passage of this bill are no longer pretending this bill has anything to do with inflation reduction.

This legislation essentially locks the United States on the path of following Europe’s disastrous climate change agenda of much higher energy prices, higher taxes, higher inflation and greatly reduced economic growth coupled with far less personal options in your life as we experience a lower standard of living going forward. In very simple terms, it is a social reengineering bill where the climate change scheme is a mask for the government justifying wholesale changes to all aspects of modern living. Which of course needs to be paid for by the weaponization of the IRS to bleed the public for every cent that can be rung from them annually. Which in turn effects a huge transfer of the personal wealth of this nation into the hands of government bureaucrats. All of whom claim they know far better how your money should be spent and how you should live than you do. In essence, the bill just passed codifies America’s socialistic future. Where the federal government will become the dominant player in determining all aspects of your life on a daily basis.

EVERY Dem bill always does and was intended to do the EXACT OPPOSITE of whatever they name it. e.g. The “Affordable” Care Act.

It is a terrible shame that ALL Americans are going to have to suffer for years to come because of this, we can pray that in that suffering more minds will be woke up to the source. Keep in mind that when I say all Americans I do not include progressive elitists as they are NOT Americans. Will it be ok to say “told you so” on a daily basis?

This ramming through of the BBB with a new headline inflation reduction is so like the Obamacare forced on America when the public didn’t understand and approve.

the democrats know they have screwed up and are trying to get as much out of this administration as they can, while they can. They want to hand the next Republican President as much hell and fire as they can. They don’t give a rat’s patootie about us, only power and revenge. I just wish those in power could see the voter fraud, accept it as the horrible theft that it was and turn this sinking ship around. We need the real winner of the race in the oval office… Donald Trump

Have you noticed that Democrats have to lie when they name their bills. If you have to lie to get someone to vote for your bill, then it means your bill is worthless. Inflation reduction bill actually raises inflation. The infra structure bill a few months ago there was only 7% in the bill that had anything to do with infrastructure. A lot of the so called Covid bills was just another way for politicians to waste money and for many to enrich themselves. We need true conservatives to get in and set this country back on track. It will take a lot of work but it needs to be done and can be done by telling Democrats and the media to go pound sand .

I’m not sure if any of you have endured the hiring process of a government employee. I don’t thing “our” government can even hire 87,000 IRS auditors in this century. Let alone train them and supervise them. And the turnover rate will be unbelievable- who wants to be a career IRS Auditor?

AMAC, why did you cut over half of what I wrote? You never did that before.
You know I only put FACTS in of what I write commenting on article.
I appreciate the article’s and information.
But on AMAC, we all have opinions we share with each other. That’s what makes AMAC better than any other.

Another bill with a nice name from the Democrats that doesn’t help the American people. Only helps the Dems and their “friends” in the long run.
