Biden

The catastrophe currently playing out on our southern border has been caused almost entirely by the Biden administration’s loose (and illegal) application of asylum law. Under Biden’s policies, virtually anyone crossing our border from anywhere in the world is allowed to claim “political asylum” in the United States—a designation intended only for genuinely persecuted individuals. But now, as persecuted Cubans consider fleeing the island in the wake of new government oppression, the Biden administration has suddenly forgotten its affinity for any and all asylum seekers attempting to enter the United States—at least, as long as those asylum seekers are Cuban.

Last week, Biden Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas warned that people fleeing Cuba by boat won’t be allowed to enter the United States, saying that “if you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.”

Mayorkas added that his warning applies even to those who demonstrate fear of persecution. “If individuals…establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement,” he explained. “They will not enter the United States.” Moreover, he warned that Cubans caught attempting to flee their home country will be returned to Cuba by the Coast Guard.

This hardline approach by Biden and Mayorkas – himself a Cuban immigrant – has many accusing the Biden administration of hypocrisy over its asylum policy.

To understand why, consider the way political asylum works under U.S. law. In order to receive asylum, individuals leaving their own country are supposed to have to demonstrate a “credible fear” of persecution if they return home.

“Credible fear” means that if someone goes home, they will likely be abused, tortured, imprisoned, or killed. And under widely accepted international standards, asylum seekers fleeing genuine persecution are supposed to stop in the first country they reach where they will not be subjected to such persecution.

In other words, genuine asylum seekers are not supposed to be allowed to cross the entirety of Central America and Mexico to request asylum in the U.S.—and even if they do, they are not supposed to qualify for asylum just because they came from less developed, or crime-plagued countries.

Under the Obama and Biden administrations, all of these standards were suspended. U.S. asylum was (and is) granted to migrants from all over the world who did not stop in the first safe country they reached—and nearly all of whom do not have a “credible fear” of persecution.

It was exactly this problem that President Trump attempted to solve while in office—and with extraordinary success. The Trump administration implemented the Remain in Mexico policy, officially called the Migrant Protection Protocols, to address the rampant abuses of America’s asylum system, and also made agreements with many Central American countries to curtail asylum fraud.

President Trump’s asylum policies were not only more logical and humane—they were the primary factor in securing America’s southern border and dramatically reducing illegal immigration under his administration.

President Joe Biden ripped up those policies immediately upon entering the White House. On his first day in office, he halted and then formally ended the Remain in Mexico Policy, and launched historic new waves of illegal immigration to the U.S. border.

Indeed, the Biden administration has actively encouraged illegitimate asylum seekers from central America to come to the US and not to stay in the first safe countries they reach. Just last month, for example, Vice President Kamala Harris said she is “committed to making sure we provide a safe haven for those seeking asylum, period.” A few days later, the administration greatly expanded the number of central American children eligible to apply for asylum in the U.S. while still in their home countries.

All of which brings us to the Biden administration’s policy pertaining to Cuba. Despite actively inviting the rest of Latin America to the United States, the administration is harshly warning Cubans to stay away. Obviously, some of those Cubans actually do have a credible fear of persecution, and Cuba is one of the only nations for which America is the first safe country. Yet Biden is telling Cubans that they will be denied entry, returned to their oppressors, or actively resettled outside of the United States.

The hypocrisy is undeniable. The contradiction warrants an explanation.

It seems that for some reason, Biden’s team specifically wants to exclude Cubans from coming to America. If that is true, the reason why is all too obvious: Unlike other Latinos, the majority of Cuban Americans identify as Republicans. Biden and the Democrats want to open the borders to people from Honduras and Guatemala because, the thinking goes, they’ll vote for Democrats. But those Cubans have seen far-left rule up close and want no more of it. So, we can’t let them in, even if their fears are far more credible than alleged asylum seekers who are currently safe in Mexico.

Democrats relentlessly and baselessly accused President Trump for four years of opposing asylum fraud for political purposes. Now the Biden administration is encouraging asylum fraud, and opposing genuine asylum seekers, for political purposes. It’s not hard to see which is worse.

Once again, where do I begin? Finally, at the 2nd paragraph up from the final one does the TRUTH come out! The Democrat Party as a whole is in a word, pathetic…They care not an iota about the Cuban people’s misery living under a totalitarian regime…Yes Mayorkas himself a Cuban immigrant brings hypocrisy of this admins. to a whole new level…Yes, the vast majority if not 100% of the Cuban people are conservative folks. On that basis alone, the Democrat socialists will deny the Cuban people asylum into our country. ” They ain’t gunna vote for us, why let ’em in “…?
Meanwhile over at the southern border, Texas is being inundated by illegal immigrants from around the globe now, i.e. Mexico & all points south, Middle East, Romania, Africa & so many other nations now, MS-13 gang bangers, sex trafficker’s, human smugglers, i.e. coyotes, drugs, i.e. tons of drugs & weapons, etc…Biden is flying these people into our cities all across this nation, right this moment…
It has to end, we are losing our country in a rapid manner…
This will be a military operation all the way, both here & abroad.
Has anyone looked at Washington, DC of late? It is a ghost town as in the vast majority of Federal buildings are empty and/or boarded up…Rush hour traffic is non-existent…
Do they, i.e. Federal officials, all branches of the gov’t know something the rest of us don’t? I would suggest that yes indeed, they know what’s coming down the pike…
In summary, we are living in a historical moment in US history & I believe we are inching ever closer
to a military takeover over of the entire US gov’t because 98% of it is CORRUPT & it has in fact become captured by the enemy…The best is yet to come…

Communism has no humanity it only worships communism. They do not want Cuban refugees because they would more than likely vote REPUBLICAN. The Democratic party has been shifting towards Communism since the early sixties and now they feel it is their time and they are all in including parts of the Republican party. We need to push back and push back hard, emails, phone calls, written letters, in their offices and on the streets. When words stop working? 2nd.

Maybe the Cuban Castro Communist Era for Cubans will finally convince them that it is not in their National, personal, or welfare individual welfare interests to support Communism (so-called). Cuba merely has a Castro Monarchy disguised as Communism .. and media propaganda supports this misapplication of a description of Cuba’s system of governance.

I hope at voting time that all American Cubans remember how Biden and the Democrats showed no regard for their countrymen fleeing Communist Cuba. Shameful Biden and makes me almost want to weep as to how cruel Communists really are to other human beings.

At this rate California will go Republican; (the whole entire State too!) A debt of gratitude goes to the Democratic/Communist Party. They have given the best example of the WORST propaganda, spin, and brainwashing of any party in centuries! What is equally amazing is they believe that WE will believe their malarkey. After they smear our ‘Patriot Fathers’, they smear the American Police, then they proceed to smear any Republican they can get their paws on. Of course, this is all perpetuated by the Communist Main Stream Media! The only question remains, what will be their next strategy of propaganda, lies, and brainwashing? No, that’s not the only question, after all: How much are these imbeciles getting paid? Remember, the ‘Democratic Party’ absolutely loves to waste, devour, and shred millions, upon millions of dollars! Again, a debt of gratitude goes out to the most inept Party ever! Without which, I would still belong to their vile, stinking to high heaven ‘Party’!

The Cubans I have met are nice people. I hate to say this, but you often get the impression they are nicer than we are. They have experienced communism and could explain it to some of the misguided dems that seem to support it. Naturally Biden and his handlers do not want them in the U.S. because they would make Biden’s illegals look bad. Cubans that have seen communism would be likely to vote Republican. Just my opinion.

The reason for Biden’s policy is simple. Overland illegal aliens can eventually be counted on to vote Democrat and are being send to red counties so when they get amnesty they will turn the vote in favor of the Democratic Party. Cubans have historically voted for Republicans and must be kept out of the country at all costs.

The Demonrats and the left don’t want the Cuban people, because they tend to be more Conservative, more Religious, and the Cuban people know what real Communism looks like and will fight to protect their freedom. If the Demonrats thought they were another block of voters they would welcome them with open arms.

How evil! I doubt a lot of people know who they are serving, but as John wrote in One John chapter five, verse nineteen, We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. If our leaders aren’t serving God, the only one left is Satan. He wants to prove that he can out do God, and God allows it so people can choose the side they want. This life is short. No one will take anything from here into eternity. Choose God for eternal joy, or the other guy for eternal sorrow.

While Alejandro Mayorkas may be a Cuban exile, he is probably a “Fifth Columnist”. Or in other words, a shill of the Cuban Communist government. Many of them have entered this country over the past six decades, and have worked hand-in-glove with the communists in this country to destroy our Constitutional Republic. Additionally, they have worked to malign Cubans who love freedom and love the USA. They were very active during the Elian Gonzalez debacle. We saw this first hand in Miami.

Racism ? Let’s think about the communist F D R and his imprisoning of Japanese / American citizens. And yet that slime is revered by revisionist historians.

The next conservative / populist POTUS needs to fill the jails with them and start mass graves for Soros and his ilk.

I agree w all those comments on the need for holding people responsible for their actions. Corruption is pandemic in this country because no one is ever held responsible for their crimes. And it will continue and always worsening until true justice is served-just like bullies who are never challenged, criminals set free, horrific gang members invited into the country and repeatedly released after arrest, sanctuary cities protecting criminals, Hillary and Bill and their friends still walking free, Obama still running our country and Soros still manipulating one free country after another for the sake of a One World government. No consequences for any of them. We continue to allow this and we sink further into the abyss.

The current actions of the Biden administration and the Democrat party are perfectly consistent with their past history when it came to supporting the communist regime in Cuban over the captive Cuban people being held in life-long poverty and servitude under communism. I’m all for facilitating a means to assist the Cuban people in freeing themselves from the brutal communist regime they have been forced to live under for 62 years. I’ve even suggested in prior articles on this subject how it could be done. However, I have absolutely no illusions that the Biden administration will do anything of substance in that area to aid the Cuban people. Again, the Democrat party has always supported the communist party in Cuba over the people of Cuba. Expressed in clearer terms, socialists tend to support other socialists.

I’m neither shocked nor surprised by the Biden administration’s actions to date regarding anything discussed in this article. This is simply who the Democrats have been for quite a while and, if anything, they are simply dropping their pretense of being “progressive” for the more accurate and open self identification of socialist.

The only asylum we should be discussing and entertaining is the one where we commit Biden, Harris, Schumer, Pelosi, Schiff, Waters, AOC, and others of their ilk to permanent incarceration (preferably somewhere in a distant universe, but Guantanamo would be an acceptable alternate choice).

Oh! I forgot to think – that place is called HELL and I expect all of these idiots will end up there with front row seats where they can spend eternity adulating Satan, and luxuriating with the massive number of self-administered kissing hickies they placed up and down the inside of their arms and the self-administered contusions they placed on their shoulders from vigorously patting themselves on their backs at every opportunity, and all the while “joyfully” reminiscing about all the “good” they did for America on their watch.

The net outcome of their new residency is that these idiots will “Fake News” themselves into believing that all their dysfunctional and dystopian earthly actions actually constituted “nirvana” for America and the whole world. Oh, regarding HELL, I expect all these folks will genuinely feel right at home, and for some it will actually be an improvement over their earthly lives.

P.S. If I were Satan, I wouldn’t want them on my turf either!

Regarding the Cubans being more disposed to being Republicans based upon their first-hand experience with Castro’s “paradise” …

Let’s all pitch in and charter flights for Cubans into the USA, rather than having them brave the water crossing to Florida. There are enough “sanctuary” towns, cities and states around where Cubans could easily blend in and remain below the radar.

If the Demsheviks can pad their voter rolls with “their” immigrants, we should be able to do the same for “our” immigrants. Gee, things may accelerate into an “Immigrant Race” akin to the “Space Race” of yesteryear!

Lest we forget, Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas also referred to Cuban immigrants as “Illegals”. Its funny, I thought that according to their own rules, they can’t call them illegal anymore.

I propose a prisoner swap. Let’s ship the Dem party, Antifa, and BLM to Cuba so they can live in the authoritarian communist regime they want and as a gesture of thanks for Cuba for taking all these “people” from our country, we’ll take all the Cuban’s who want freedom.
