Senate Democrats have unanimously defeated Sen. Bill Hagerty’s (R-Tenn.) proposal to bar illegal immigrants from being counted in the national census, warning that their numbers go toward informing the apportioning of House seats and the Electoral College.
“Democrats’ unanimous opposition to this commonsense measure confirms that they’re using illegal aliens and sanctuary cities to increase their political power,” he said.
“With this vote, Senate Democrats chose to trample on the rights of each American’s voice. I will continue to fight and press this issue in the Senate,” Sen. Hagerty added.
Sen. Hagerty has made this accusation in the past, arguing that Democrats in sanctuary cities are allowing illegal immigrants into their regions in the hopes of gaining more votes and greater representation in the House of Representatives and Electoral College.
Democrat Calls for More Immigrants
Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), and several other Republicans were also sponsors of the Equal Representation Act introduced by Sen. Hagerty last month. According to the press release from Sen. Cassidy, the legislation came in response to a video that showed a Democrat Congresswoman openly calling for more illegal immigration to her New York congressional district because she “needs more people in her district for redistricting purposes.”According to the Republican senators, the excessive number of illegal immigrants in a state like California have helped the state take several more congressional seats and Electoral College votes than the population of citizens otherwise justifies. They accuse California and similar states of being more lenient with illegal immigrants in the hopes of increasing the power of their residents’ votes relative to those residing in states without a population boost from illegal immigration.
“This creates a perverse incentive encouraging illegal immigration and resettlement to increase political power,” the senators said.
“Since illegals are mostly in Democrat states, both the House and the Presidential vote are shifted ~5% to the left, which is enough to change the entire balance of power,” he said.
“This is a major reason why the Biden administration is ushering in record levels of illegals and doing so few deportations,” Mr Musk added.
Border Crisis Continues Causing Headaches for Biden Administration
The vote for an amendment to the Equal Representation Act comes as illegal immigration remains a hot button issue in the election cycle. President Biden visited the southern border last week and then called for Congress to pass a bipartisan border bill in his State of the Union address.“The brutal murderer who took the life of Laken was one of the millions of illegal aliens that the Biden Administration simply released and unleashed upon our country,” Mr. Johnson said.
“For Laken, and the countless many others lost to this border catastrophe, House Republicans will continue to fight tooth and nail for a return to law and order,” he added.

What a great democracy we live in….no longer “equal justice under the law” because the laws on the books don’t matter. How does these things keep happening and no one does anything about it?
Even if illegals, people here on green cards, and any other non citizen status are counted in the census, they should not be counted to decide the apportionment for Representatives or the Electoral College. We should know, to the best of our ability, the number of people in the country, but allowing them to influence elections in anyway is equivalent to allowing them to vote.
I do hope that Trump and other Conservatives will fight to deport all of the illegals that Biden invited to come here. The percentage of illegals that have come here with legitimate asylum claims is probably less than 1%.

We are no longer the great USA that I was once so proud to serve 20 yrs in the military to defend. It breaks my heart to say, that I am so disappointed that this is no longer the great USA I once proudly served, and I have lost my pride in this country since the Communists (Democrats) have destroyed what we once stood for and our values. I have lost all faith in our Federal and State government which has not lived up to their oath to protect and defend our country from all enemies foreign and domestic now that borders have been opened and we are being overrun with illegal dangerous immigrants. I will in the future use ARMS to defend my property from those moving into my area and even next door if necessary especially with catch and release in Illinois. If average Americans do not start defending what is ours since our government has turned on us, then no one will. It is up to each citizen now to protect what is ours, we can no longer depend on law enforcement or any part of our government to protect our rights.
So, once again the Democrats have proven that their only interest is in wielding power no matter if it destroys the country in the process. Common sense and civility are terms that do not exist in the Democrat world view. It matters not to them that we have thousands crossing the border into this country because all they can see is numbers that they use to justify their lust for power. One who is in a country illegally is NOT a citizen. If a citizen of the USA tries , in say Germany, to claim the benefits of citizen ship, is it allowed? I doubt it.

The census does ask three questions that cover information on place of birth, citizenship, and year of entry. It’s when they compile the info that they screw us over!!

What better way to sidestep the unpopular stacking of the Supreme Court by simply stacking the electorate which will eventually trickle down to congressional seats. In the long run the losers will be the democrat party (as usual) with the Texas population projected to be 95 million. Florida 68 million, California a measly 50 million and New York only 20 million. All by the year 2100. If Texas remains red you can kiss the blue states’ political clout bye-bye. If Texas starts counting noncitizens you will be able to bid them adieu a lot earlier!
No surprise here. Anyone with an iota of common sense can see that the Dems want to stack the voting deck this November (give illegals benefits, no ID required, etc, etc, ad nauseam).
The real issue is how can the Republicans stop this from happening. They have just 8 short month to do it.
