AMAC Action Delegates Participate in Fly-In Day in Washington, DC

Five teams of AMAC Action Delegates descended on Capitol Hill this week for 33 meetings with sitting Members of Congress and top-level staffers to advance key priorities of the AMAC membership ahead of this November’s pivotal elections.

The trip was a resounding success, with Delegates working to secure commitments from lawmakers to support the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE ) Act, a crucial election integrity bill recently introduced by Rep. Chip Roy and Senator Mike Lee. Among other important provisions, this legislation would require states to obtain proof of citizenship – in person – when registering an individual to vote and would require states to remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls.

Delegates also urged the legislators they spoke with to make the Trump tax cuts permanent. This would be a major boost for small businesses and working families, particularly as inflation and the skyrocketing cost of living resulting from Bidenomics continue to erode Americans’ financial security.

Additionally, the team of Delegates presented Congressional members with AMAC Action’s Social Security Guarantee, a plan that would financially stabilize Social Security for decades without raising taxes. As Social Security faces a solvency crisis, AMAC Action is leading the way to ensure Americans who have paid into the system for decades continue to receive the benefits they are owed.

AMAC Action President Bob Carlstrom issued the following statement at the conclusion of the meetings: “It was an exhilarating day on the Hill for our Delegates. They had the opportunity to participate in our lobbying efforts personally and gained valuable experience in the legislative process. Many look forward to another trip to Capitol Hill.”

AMAC Action Delegates are volunteers who help advance AMAC Action’s issues portfolio in their local Congressional District and at the state level. Delegates represent the voice of AMAC members in their communities and are a vital part of AMAC Action’s work.

Chapter Meetings

May 13: WI-05 Delegate Scott Kosteretz spoke to AMAC members about AMAC Action  news, Wisconsin capitol news, the upcoming Republican convention, and led a discussion on the Epoch Times Crossroads topic: “Some States Looking to Drop Electoral College for Popular Vote.”

May 16: AK-At Large Delegate Robert Coulter hosted the meeting and Nick Begich, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives (At Large), discussed election issues.

May 16: IA-03 Delegate Jim De Kruif hosted a meeting for AMAC members in IA-01. AMAC Action State Advocacy Representative John Whelan gave a Washington, DC and AMAC Action update and Chris Ingstad, President of Iowans for Tax Relief Foundation, provided members an update on Iowa property taxes.

Calls-to-Action

Support for Louisiana HB 608 – Women’s Safety and Protection Act

The Women’s Safety and Protection Act is a crucial piece of legislation that seeks to safeguard the privacy and security of women in various spaces such as locker rooms, changing facilities, school restrooms, prisons, and domestic violence facilities and keep them free from biological males. If you live in Louisiana, we ask that you contact your Senator and urge them to support HB 608.

Tell Your Senator to Oppose the World Health Organization’s Pandemic Treaty!

As citizens deeply concerned about the future of our nation, we must rally against the World Health Organization’s proposed pandemic treaty scheduled for May 2024. While international collaboration helps combat global health threats, this treaty poses significant risks to America’s sovereignty and ability to respond effectively to crises. Following the Biden Administration’s inadequate response to COVID-19 and the WHO’s mishandling of the pandemic, Americans must take action to prevent further violations of personal liberties and freedoms. Tell your Senator to vote NO on the WHO pandemic treaty!

Stop Non-Citizens from Voting in America’s Elections!

The Biden Administration has allowed millions of people to enter the United States illegally and given them a pathway to vote in our elections. This orchestrated effort by the Biden Administration to corrupt our elections and install Democrats as a uniparty must be stopped. Please contact your Congressman or woman today and compel them to stop non-citizens from voting in America’s elections.

Quote of the Week

“We need courage and we need honesty, and finally we need the saving grace of common sense. And we shall get good results from good citizenship exactly in proportion as the average citizen is developed along the three lines that I have indicated; for that is the man who will have high ideals, and yet will be able to realize them in practical fashion. That is the man who will keep his eyes on the stars, and yet not forget that in this world of ours he must have his feet on the ground. The man who will strive after a high ideal but strive after it in methods that will permit of its realization.”

― Theodore Roosevelt
