Steve 4 years ago 10/10 Thanks for the picture, it was a great help on the number of rays from her crown and which hand held the torch… 🙂 Candy Vidulich 4 years ago 9/10…. not bad for guessing on about 1/2 the questions numbersrunner 4 years ago Regarding question 6: Even though my W A guess was correct, I think that asking people to guess the weight among closely spaced numbers is ridiculous! The important point is that the statue weighs a couple of hundred tons, not that one can guess between close numbers’ numbersrunner 4 years ago Offering a test like this is good. I suspect that many readers are of an age when history and civics were taught in middle and high school and while they have likely learned most of the information in years past it is a good reminder of what our country stands for. It is unfortunate that so many schools no longer teach the basics like reading, writing, math, and government. One of the saddest moments happened when our 21-year old granddaughter saved a letter written by her nana and asked her to read it to her because she had never been taught to read cursive writing. Spike 4 years ago Got 10/10, guessed on the weight, Never been to the Status, but seen it on flights in/out of New York. Lilly 4 years ago 7 out of 10 Dan 4 years ago Other than the weighty question, I got 9/10. wolverine70 4 years ago 9/10 Fincy 3 years ago got 8 out of 10. Did not know the original name of the Island and the actual name of the statue. Made some lucky guesses and it helped to see the picture of the statue in the background so I could make two correct answers by looking at it. Morton Hurt 3 years ago I am looking forward to the quiz – I majored in European History Karen 3 years ago 9/10 because I didn’t know the weight. Ah, well, I was excited to go up in the statue back in 1974. Going up the spiral staircase was a challenge and I saw all the rivets and bits coming apart. It really looked dangerous. When I got to the top, in the head, it was a magnificent view. We weren’t allowed into the arm and the torch, though. I developed a massive headache because the inside of that thing was extremely hot. When we got back to our hotel I started heaving like crazy (I was a couple months pregnant). I guess all that heat was bad for a pregnant lady. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world, though. wpDiscuz260Would love your thoughts, please comment.x()x| ReplyInsert Login Login Join Renew Member Benefits Newsline Member Benefits Advocacy Our Actions About Advocacy Issues Get Involved Weekly Update Annual Report Find Your Representative AMAC App Better for America Podcast Book Club AMAC Blog FAQ About Us Overview Our Team Our Stance on Key Issues Magazine Medicare Games Voice Your Opinion in AMAC Polls AMAC in the Media AMAC Action AMAC Foundation Social Security Guarantee Prime Directives Brief Prime Directives Details Sweepstakes Contact Advertise with AMAC Terms & Conditions Privacy Policy
