Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis set $8 million in his 2022–23 budget to transport illegal immigrants out of The Sunshine State.

He proposed the spending in the Freedom First Budget to protect against harms resulting from illegal immigration. The spending may include the transportation of unauthorized aliens located within Florida to other states or the District of Columbia.

“In yesterday’s budget, I put in $8 million for us to be able to transport people illegally [in the United States] out of the state of Florida,” he said during a press conference on Friday.

The Republican governor listed Delaware, President Joe Biden’s hometown state, and Martha’s Vineyard, where former President Barack Obama owns a mansion, as potential destinations to relocate the illegal immigrants.

“If you sent [illegal immigrants] to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard or some of these places, that border would be secure the next day,” he said.

The White House and The Obama Foundation didn’t respond immediately to requests for comments from The Epoch Times.

DeSantis also encouraged more counties to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) 287(g) program, under which individuals who have been arrested on criminal charges and are being booked into the county jails are asked about their immigration status.

Other proposed measures to reduce the harms of illegal immigrants include listing convicted illegal aliens on a public website. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (top C) speaks with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott at a border meeting in Del Rio, Texas, on July 18, 2021. (Charlotte Cuthbertson/The Epoch Times)

DeSantis threatened to send illegal immigrants to Delaware back in November. He said his office is looking at legal avenues after his administration alleged that about 70 flights of illegal aliens were sent to Jacksonville, Florida, after being picked up by agents along the U.S.–Mexico border.

“We’re going to get together and figure out what we can do in the immediate term to protect folks in Florida,” DeSantis told reporters, noting that his options are limited because the federal government controls the immigration policies and actions.

But “if they’re not doing that,” DeSantis added, “then clearly the state should be able to come in and provide protection, and so that’s what we’re going to be looking to do.”

“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said, before proclaiming, “I will send them to Delaware.”

Jack Phillips contributed to the report.

Great idea! Should have been done it a long time ago! Keep sharing the love Governor DeSantis! I’m sure the folks in Massachusetts and Delaware would love to help out with caring for a few thousand illegals. I just hope Texas, New Mexico and Arizona will follow suit and bus a few thousand of their illegals there as well.

In theory, I agree. However as a Republican Conservative in DE, I don’t really want any more illegals here. If they would just stay in lyin’ biden’s neighborhoods in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, that would be ok, but I know that they wouldn’t. And of course, the Delaware Democrat Dictator (the gov) would raise our taxes to pay the illegals education, health, and living expenses. The best thing to do is just put them on planes and SEND THEM BACK to Mexico, Guatamala, Honduras, Chile. I wouldn’t mind paying for that.

On those 70 flights to Florida, why not seize the planes? I see it as human trafficking! Same with crews, and same with the buses that drive all over the country. I’m sure those illegals did not ask to be taken to Florida, so that is trafficking. Seize them all and let courts decide,,,in a year or two.

Come on you cant for a second believe he can do this do you? As much as I wish he could he stated the fact that this is a Federal issue and not a State issue. Do you think all the agencies that are paid for whores of Soros/Globalists will let him remove these illegals? The Globalists know full well there is nothing anyone can do to stop them from being placed in the States. Also take into account how many of the illegals are claiming “family” status with already been allowed to stay illegal’s so he wont dare separate the “family” or deport out of State those who have been here regardless if they have worked or collected welfare. Lastly the children cry will be raised and damn if I’m sick of hearing about children of illegals yet not of Real American’s children. Lets face it we are stuck, we are screwed, we are dead, as a country and her people. Oh and forget the “purge” talk and the “open season” talk that’s being thrown around as a last resort if the government doesn’t fix this because you will be either end up dead or in jail while the illegals will be coming and coming and coming.

Only if they are required to stay in the area (States) they are dropped in to for 20 years or so. If caught out of their area, they and their offspring (including children born in USA who will NOT have citizenship rights until their 18th birthday IF still in the country) go back to their original country and cannot ever return to this country legally.
Hehe! I can picture the citizens of Delaware and Martha’s Vineyard with angry scowls on their faces about that happening … they are such big supporters and are sure to be sidin’ with Joe Hidin’ Biden.

Maybe it is time to have a Constitutional Amendment that all illegals that are not promptly returned to their point of entry promptly after being apprehended, should be put in states in proportion to their state population density. The higher density populated state, the higher fractions of illegals would be placed there. I think that would go over like a lead balloon to the high population states.

If the illegals found out they were going to Washington DC, maybe they would stay home. The problem is, anywhere is better than in the corrupt s**thole they are living in!
