AMAC to Congress: ‘ Get Real and Start Dismantling Obamacare ’

obamacare-dismantlingWASHINGTON, DC, Oct 9 – “Americans are already paying through the nose for the ideological ambitions of Washington liberals.  The price tag will continue to go up.  Obamacare is steadily forcing new, higher premiums.  At the same time, Democratic lawmakers are hatching schemes such as the one that would have taxpayers footing the bill for health insurance for millions of individuals who are in this country illegally.  It just doesn’t make sense.” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

At least four independent consulting firms, Oliver Wyman, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Hay Group, and Milliman, are reporting that Obamacare premiums will soar next year.  Some reports say they will go up in some cases by as much as 60%.

In fact, Weber revealed, “the federal government confirms that, in general, health care costs associated with Obamacare are predicted to bend the cost curve up by 14 percent to 49 percent for most Americans.  Hardest hit by the rising costs are those who can least afford it, America’s older citizens.  Meanwhile, the Democratic leadership in Congress has come forth with a bill to provide illegal aliens nationwide with access to Obamacare– compliments of your tax dollars and mine.”

It’s time for our lawmakers to “get real” and create solutions for America’s problems, Weber said.  In an Op-Ed article posted at townhall.com this week, he called on Congress to start writing and passing sensible laws that address the top-of-mind concerns of Americans—particularly those that impact their day-to-day lives.

One of the key reasons for Obamacare, in the first place, was to cover the over 38 million Americans without health insurance.  Six years later 38 million are still without insurance.

Weber called for a thoughtful, common sense approach to issues of concern to taxpayers – including senior citizens.  “They are paying higher taxes (or penalties) for Obamacare, while now also paying shockingly higher premiums, and getting less before the benefits kick in, due to higher deductibles.  In short, let’s dismantle the house of cards that is Obamacare.

“Let us trumpet a return home for those who are illegally in the United States, not continue to belabor the issue, not provide them with sanctuary from our laws in cities facing rising crime rates, not add health care benefits – compliments of a generous but broke American worker and pensioner, and certainly not offer benefits that will now create new waves of illegal immigration.  In short, let us tell Congress to represent those who work legally, vote legally, and have done so all their long lives.”

How To Opt Out Of Obamacare. Know your options and become savvy self-pay patients. Join a health care sharing ministry. These are voluntary, charitable membership organizations that agree to share medical bills among the membership. They function similar to insurance, and are probably the best alternative to conventiongal health insurance. There are four of them, at least that I know of. Three are open only to practicing Christians (Samaritan Ministries, Christian Healthcare Ministries, and Christian Care Ministry) while a fourth, Liberty HealthShare, is open to anyone who agrees with their ethical commitment to religious liberty. They operate entirely outside of… Read more »

Will Obamacare be repealed or won’t it? Will Congress fund it or won’t it? Will the web site be fixed or not? Blah, blah, blah. We the people just need to do what we need to do and Democrats be damned. Resist. Refuse. Revolt. EXEMPT OURSELVES! We did not comply with Prohibition and we simply should not comply with Obamacare. For religious reasons. For privacy reasons. For the cause of liberty and freedom and in protest of the idea that the federal government (under one party rule, no less), can force private citizens to purchase anything with our own money.… Read more »

I didn’t read all of the comments, but as far as AMAC listing all of the congress members that don’t vote to repeal Obambacare, they may not want to alienate members that they have convinced to vote AMAC;s way, on other bills.

Why are you voting for Trey Gowdy for Speaker for Pete’s sake?? We need him the rip the Hillabeest’s knickers big time and get to the bottom of the Benghazi Debacle and shed more light on those disappearing Top Secret emails and the money hustle for the Clintoon foundation. He does not need to be hand-holding those RINO prima donnas in the House whose feelings have been hurt by the conservatives of the Republican Party. Wake up people!!

In regards to dismantling the Affordable Care Act, or as I like to address it, the Unaffordable care act, I believe Congress should have read the whole thing before passing this as law. I do not want to address it as anybody’s care because it isn’t caring for those who truly need health care and are unable to afford it. It is not Obamacare, it is nobody’s care. I recently went to the Dr. at which time I was given a sheet to instruct me how I can set up a patient’s portal to see my own health record, send… Read more »

Greed ! This is the one and only reason our Government no longer functions for the people. Everything in today’s society is driven by Personal Gain, instead of Personal Sacrifice for the Nation. I’m talking (almost) every Politician whether they be Dumocrat, or Rippublican, only do things for 1. Themselves, 2. Their political click of People, 3 People who give them Money. The people we “Vote for” and send to Washington, are supposed to do nothing more than be the Voice of the Local People who Voted them in and sent them there. They are Not Supposed to Pander to… Read more »

F D Roosevelt screwed up the health insurance system during WWII, when in order to prevent the union brothers from striking, and realizing that they were big dumbacrat voters, he threw them the sop of employer provided health care. At this time he also prevented the health insurance companies from operating interstate, like auto insurance companies do. Health insurance companies have to set up entire independant corporations in each state they operate in with the corresponding expenses. Look at the cost of auto insurance vs. health insurance! There also needs to be a cap on lawsuits, but that won’t happen… Read more »

I have to assume, please correct me if I am wrong, that Mr. Weber or his aids meets fairly regularly with various members of Congress. In those meetings, he no doubt would bring up the issue of Obamacare and the need for its total repeal. Not modification, not adjustment, but total and complete repeal. So it would be helpful if AMAC could publish a list of the Congressmen who oppose such action. Certainly Mr. Weber knows who they are by now correct? That way the constituents (the voters) of those members of Congress would have to the opportunity to run… Read more »

Here is food for thought and possibly the first step to winning back the country from the liberal progressives in this country. Facts from the CENSUS Bureau in 2014. There are ~240 million adults in this county over the age 18, ~220 million are citizens, ~142 million are registered to vote, leafing ~77.7 million that are not registered. In the 2012 election,~129.2 million turned out to vote, of that ~65.9 million voted democratic and ~60.9 voted republican, and ~1.3 million libertarian. That means ~12.8 million registered did not vote. More importantly there were ~90 million that did not vote that… Read more »

Obamacare’s ‘end of life’ (death panel) counseling sides with greed driven insurance companies that would rather give you suicide pills instead of cancer treatment. I deserve better. You do too. I describe Obamacare an the ambulance that runs over pedestrians before he reaches your door.

The GOP is in disarray because the Progressive Republican coalition led by Boehner, Graham, McCain and others is in a power struggle with with true conservatives over the control of Congress. As we all know, the House appropriates the money and then the Senate chimes in. There will be no repeal of Obamacare until the Progressives are purged from the party. They have been there too long and therefore have the seniority to run the show. McCarthy and others have declined to run because the real fight is over the Majority Whip position. This is the person who assigns committees.… Read more »

The quickest way to get the votes to repeal Obama/SCOTUScare is to start collecting the employer tax and the “cadillac” tax. Spread the pain to those who contribute to the law makers who supported this health plan. Also do away with all exemptions other than religious.

Time for the congress to repeal OBAMA! How stupid to vote to repeal his laws when they could save time by repealing him, oh wait, but that would mean exposing dirty campaign tactics and fraud. And extortion, have you all given any thought to the extortion that permeates our government from top to bottom especially the workers at every level?
