Here’s a tragedy in three acts. Start with an idea: “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one if you repeat it frequently enough…” wrote Walter C. Langer. Maine and the nation are experiencing that now, under one-party rule. Here is an example.
Maine’s Democrat governor, last August, signed an executive order creating what she called an “Office of New Americans,” within the government. Odd thing, that.
The stated goal, paid with tax dollars from Maine’s “Old Americans,” many with no office, even with no home, was: “Making Maine a home of opportunity for all, by welcoming and supporting immigrants to strengthen Maine’s workforce, enhance the vibrancy of Maine’s communities…” Hmmm, odd wording.
Maine has always been “a home of opportunity for all,” if you come into the state legally, obey our laws, work hard, have something to offer, and do the right thing.
That bit about “immigrants” was odd too, since we are all from “immigrant” families if you back far enough – law-abiding, hardworking folks. And what of the difference between legal and illegal immigration., The Democrat governor, a former State Attorney General, might have mentioned that. She did not.
As for “vibrancy,” since we welcome legal immigrants, we are pretty “vibrant,” those of us citizens who generate all the taxes these generous Democrats spend.
Thinking back, Mainers shook their heads, “Oh well, another oddball idea from this oddball legislature,” just more government to pay for that we don’t need.
Only, the “Office of New Americans” was more than that. It was a lie. Hard word. Yes, a lie. It is an “office” dedicated, we now learn, to inviting 75,000 illegal aliens to populate the state, lawbreakers without language or skills – lured by free things.
How could the Democrat Party put Mainers in this place, already facing the highest property taxes, unaffordable housing, inflation, and with nothing to spare?
The question percolated, conjecture mounted, and things went quiet. Behind the curtain, Maine’s one-party legislature and governor had a plan.
Unbeknownst even to Republican legislators in Maine’s House and Senate, getting less respect than Nancy Pelosi accorded Republicans, an abomination was hatched.
In the eleventh hour of Maine’s legislative session, ending in April, Democrat leadership showed why they must be decisively removed this November without ceremony, all of them ousted – even by Democrat voters: They have no integrity.
In a state known for Yankee honesty, where national leaders from different parties, Margaret Chase Smith (R) and Ed Muskie (D), Bill Cohen (R) and George Mitchell (D) spoke honestly with each other, Maine’s state-level Democrats have bleached integrity from their process, “life the way it should never be,” not “the way life should be.”
Their plan, hatched between the governor, house, and senate, was to jam funding for this office into a supplemental budget, boost it by 30 percent, and create an unstoppable path to legalizing thousands of illegal voters, to perpetuate power.
Come off it. Really? How and why? How could that really happen in Maine? Don’t Maine’s Democrat, Independent, and Republican voters have rights?
Answer: One-party government is, by definition, unconstrained. It can do whatever it wants, including committing gross violations of public trust without consequence – except if people remove them at the ballot box, which is the “why.” Those in power, at the top, love it, ideology, and control. They aim to keep it.
This is happening in Maine, and around the country. Good people assume the best, especially of legislators. They do not realize their trust is trashed, that such ugly, unethical, dishonest things are happening, wholly against their core values.
So, in January, we got Act 2: An announcement by Maine’s low-integrity Democrat leadership that Maine faces a labor shortage in health care and education, and – clumsy sleight-of-hand – this “Office of New Americans” is a solution. They are inviting illegal aliens with no education, language, or skills, many tied to organized crime and fentanyl trafficking, to come to fix things.
Really? Do they think Mainers are that gullible? Well, if dishonesty is your thing … But Maine’s unemployment rate is 3.3 percent, below the national. Illegals are not nurses, doctors, or teachers, not likely to solve the health care or education crises. And they are not “New Americans,” they are illegals, lawbreakers after free stuff – the rest of us pay for.
Act 3: On a dark night in April, Maine’s Democrat legislature and governor betrayed every citizen of the state, with no committee action, no disclosure, and no honest conversation: They slipped money for this leftist idea into their budget, and just did it.
Why would they do that? One guess. Maine does not require voters to present an ID that proves they are a citizen to vote, just proof of where they live, like free housing – given to illegals.
What do you think that means? Whether you are a Democrat, Independent, or Republican citizen, does integrity matter? Your vote? Do you think it is right that your Democrat-controlled legislature secretly just taxed you to buy illegal votes, diminishing yours? Are those your values, what you teach your kids, want in government? Not me, I want integrity. These low-integrity Democrats have got to go – here and across the nation. Full stop.

You have no doubt either read or seen first-hand what the policies and language used to initially sell socialism / Marxism to a naive public look like. The twisted and contorted language used by government officials to describe proposed changes in either law or policy, that do essentially the exact opposite of what the government is saying will happen once the change is enacted. The intentional lying or subtle obfuscation of detail that goes into spinning a narrative that will win support from an ignorant or inattentive public for whatever is being proposed isn’t going to be as bad as it actually will be when implemented into practice. So, you already know the answers to all the questions you pose.
All one has to do is look at how early in-roads were made by socialists or Marxists in the various countries of South America that ended up adopting the poison ideology to see what is being played out here. A substantial percentage of these illegals flooding into our country come from such destroyed countries, and as such are accustomed and used to and fully accept as normal that sort of governance. So, Democrat politicians here, America’s socialist / Marxist Party, know how to both cultivate and leverage a pliable population to enhance their political control and extend their power.
We both know what the actual intent is of granting illegals, coming mostly from existing socialist or Marxist countries, the right to vote will be. Maine is simply one of the first to openly enact such changes. I can guarantee you that other Democrat states will do the exact same thing in the near or promise that illegals can only vote in local elections, while looking the other way in other elections. Ten million illegals, which most are of voting age, can alter the outcomes in a lot of states in this country and they are ALL being encouraged to vote by either Democrat politicians or the NGOs that are bankrolled by the financial backers of the Democrat Party.
Most elections are won or lost based on the movement of a couple of percentage points either way. So, importing thousands of illegals into a relatively low population state like Maine or tens of thousands or more into larger, more populated states and then giving them documentation and numerous benefits, ends up creating the same threat in terms of and then granting them the right to vote. Even if it is just supposedly only for local elections, as poll workers barely check if the name is on the voter rolls. Thus basically ensuring Democrats will “win” any election in the future.
It’s a simple numbers game and the Democrats are playing to win at any cost. Why do you think the Democrats are not running around and pulling their hair out with Biden’s and other Democrats’ numbers so low in poll after poll? We’ve done little to nothing in the last 3 1/2 years to roll back the disastrous changes done in 2020. We’re still operating on the same set of highly flawed voting practices that were outlined by the Carter / Baker report on election integrity in 2005. So that is why Democrats in D.C. and behind the scenes haven’t moved more aggressively to replace Biden and Harris ahead of the election. The Democrats have seeded at least 7 or 8 million “new Democrat voters” out of the 10 million imported ahead of the election across the country.
In exchange, the Democrat politicians will sprinkle some taxpayer funded goodies and handouts to their new voter base either directly or through the NGO front groups until the Democrats have enough power and control to do away with the pretense of elections altogether. Does anyone honestly think people like Maduro or the other socialist / Marxist leaders in South America and elsewhere actually fear the outcome of elections anymore? Elections in those countries effectively became meaningless once the people of those countries were stupid enough to initially vote socialism / Marxism into power.
One word for these people: treason. And that makes them what? Traitors. We’re under attack by saboteurs from within.
“Integrity” and “Democrats” in the same sentence? Hilarious.
Until something definitive is done to ensure election integrity in each and every state, the Democrats will continue to steal elections with impunity and turn this nation into a lawless, Leftist dictatorship.
They are taking over the states one at a time, slowly stealing elections and gradually changing rules and procedures in each state to ensure they never lose an election and retain control permanently once they have stolen it.

It is illegal for a non-citizen to vote in federal elections. Local elections are controlled by the state legislators not the Govenor. The state constitution does not give the Govenor the power to change the constitution with an executive order. The citizens of Maine need to confront the Govenor and if necessary, vote to recall her. If you don’t think it is important to take back your Constitutional Rights, take a good look at Europe. In some countries the immigrant population exceeds the host cultural population. Give this up now and you will not have the ability to decide anything in the future. You will be outnumbered.

I’ve thrown in the towel on the notion of “democrats” actually providing any form of responsible governance. A Texas woman owns a business in a Texas town besieged by illegal people who have wreaked havoc, harm, and dishonorable behaviors on the citizens. The local Constable said that officials seldom come by, while crime, danger, and unnecessary expenses for people not to be here, unless by legal means.
She will vote NOT by political designation (gone for her) but will vote for the person who articulates what they stand for, says, provides, and follows their convictions for a vote of policy, fairness, USA citizens, and other criteria.
Citizens must add a provision to remove the person before the end of their term if they do not do what they say. And criteria-driven citizen oversight committee representing all voters who can have face-to-face and serious consideration discussions with the elected (for all people) conversations.
Superior solution and Idea: dump the political party, say, “Not you until you provide verbal and written conviction, and justification on the policy you will support. And your beliefs, values, and examples of what you say about how you have lived, as well as the philosophy of honor, values, and beliefs as foundational principles.
Why not? They represent Americans, so act like it. You pay the costs, and they have no penalty, and wordsmiths overspend continually. The same promises must apply to the President and Vice President. Enough with employment for life, millionaires who of late isolate themselves from those they represent, impose term limits and limit perks when the term of office ends.
Switch your ideal of voting from the used up, dead, criminal, and selfish politics to independent and thoughtful people whose term in office is term-limited and is based on the rule of law, not threats, refusal to do one sworn duty, accepting bribes, and not doing their job. Based on truth and honesty, what is right for America, and within the boundaries of legal, truth, and honesty? WHY NOT?
