President Donald Trump will visit The Villages, Florida, on Friday to highlight major tax and healthcare policy victories for American seniors during his second term. According to White House officials who spoke exclusively with AMAC Newsline about the event, the President is expected to tout significant tax burden reductions for seniors as part of his Working Families Tax Cuts as well as improvements to Social Security and Medicare, efforts to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in entitlement programs, and historic action to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
As the largest retirement community in the country, spanning some 30,000 acres and home to nearly 80,000 residents, The Villages is the perfect location for Trump to spotlight policy victories for older Americans under his watch. As they are in every election, seniors are expected to play a pivotal role in the upcoming midterm elections, as older get to the polls at higher rates than any other age group.
White House officials say Trump will deliver remarks to thousands of seniors gathered in the community, underscoring what the administration views as a sweeping set of economic and healthcare reforms tailored specifically to older Americans. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz are expected to attend, along with media personality Dr. Phil – a lineup that reflects both the policy and cultural dimensions of the administration’s outreach.
At the center of Trump’s message is the “No Tax on Social Security” provision, a cornerstone of the Working Families Tax Cuts. According to government data, more than 51 million American seniors are now paying no federal income tax on their Social Security benefits, providing them with a record average deduction of more than $7,500. That translates to roughly $700 in additional take-home income for the average beneficiary – an immediate and tangible boost for retirees living on fixed incomes.
Notably, every Democrat in Congress voted against the legislation that enabled these record deductions and refunds for seniors. That contrast is likely to be a central theme heading into the midterm elections this November.
“President Trump looks forward to visiting his home state of Florida to highlight his signature ‘No Tax on Social Security’ policy – which was a promise made, promise kept for America’s seniors in the Working Families Tax Cut,” said White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly in a statement to AMAC Newsline. “After four years of disaster under Joe Biden, the President and Congressional Republicans are putting more money in families’ pockets by cooling inflation, lowering drug costs, expanding access to retirement accounts, and delivering the largest break for seniors in history. President Trump has launched the Golden Age for Americans in their golden years – and the best is yet to come”
Beyond tax relief, the Trump administration’s broader economic agenda is strengthening retirement security. The administration’s Most Favored Nation drug pricing agreements are delivering what the White House describes as the largest reduction in prescription drug costs in history. At the same time, sustained stock market gains have driven significant growth in 401(k) and retirement account balances, providing additional financial stability for millions of seniors.
Stopping waste, fraud, and abuse in entitlement programs has been another focal point of Trump’s second term. According to White House officials, efforts to remove ineligible recipients – including illegal aliens and fraudsters – from Medicare are helping preserve the program’s long-term viability for those who depend on it.
These efforts have been paired with administrative reforms at the Social Security Administration aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness for beneficiaries. Average wait times at Social Security field offices have dropped by 30 percent, even as the agency continues to serve roughly 30 million visitors annually. Visitors with appointments now wait just six minutes on average. Meanwhile, updated phone systems have enabled 30 percent of calls to be handled through automated self-service options.
On the agency’s national 800 number, the average speed of answer has been reduced to seven minutes as of March 2026 – an 83 percent improvement from a peak of 42 minutes in fiscal year 2024. Online, the SSA has eliminated 29 hours of weekly downtime, making its “my Social Security” platform available around the clock. More than 100 million accounts had been created as of February, contributing to 287 million completed transactions in fiscal year 2026 so far – a 43 percent increase compared to the same period two years earlier.
Disability services have also seen notable gains. The number of pending initial disability claims has declined by more than 30 percent from a 2024 high of 1.27 million cases, while average processing times have been reduced by 40 percent.
Officials also highlighted additional economic policies with downstream benefits for seniors and their families. The rollback of Biden-era fuel efficiency mandates is projected to save American families $109 billion on vehicles over the next five years, while an expanded low-income housing tax credit is intended to spur construction of more affordable housing options – an issue that increasingly affects retirees on fixed incomes.
Taken together, these initiatives are part of a broader effort to usher in what Trump has repeatedly called a “Golden Age” for American seniors. Friday’s event in The Villages is expected to serve as both a policy showcase and a political signal, reinforcing the administration’s focus on a voting bloc that remains one of the most reliable – and decisive – in American politics.

I go waay back, namely to th era of President Truman, granted a child, I still recall hearing of his integrity, and courage in ending the World War11, decisively. This is the last democrat that I can without a doubt, endorse. Kennedy, young and articulate, had a moral problem we’ve since learned about, but no media told us at th time, Johnson, changed many democrats, like my family.

Questions for all those who say their SS is being taxed?? Do you get a refund check when you file your taxes? Does your state have a income tax?? Does your state tax your property?? And do you take all the deductions you are intitled to under the tax code?? And is your 4o1K being taxed as income? Just asking.

The person saying 2/3 of his Social Security is taxed. He obviously is making a lot of other income also.
When are these major tax cuts for Seniors going to kick in?? The last 2 years I’ve had to pay additional & increased tax amounts (over $200 for 2024 and over $500 for 2025) when filing in April. I am a widow, I don’t make that much (less than 50k annually) and I am claiming single and zero to have max taxes taken out of my retirement & SS checks.
I have been a Trump supporter since day one but cost of groceries and gas continue to go up, my income taxes continue to rise and my income increases doesn’t match those increased costs. This past week on April 27, 2026, gas at the local Walmart Neighborhood Market went up 51¢ over night, from $3.32 to $3.83. The feds, FOMC, have refused to lower interest rates. I agree that President Trump has done more for us seniors than other presidents, BUT when people go to the polls to vote in the primaries, what they’re going to think about are the present high gas and food prices. Most people look at what’s happening right now-they don’t want to spend their tax refunds (that went straight into their bank accounts instead of through their hands) on gas and grocery increases.
I am an Sadi recipient that has faced unbelievable harassment from the medical industry for simply wanting to reduce costs. I was faced even reporting fraud and abuse directly to the medicare office. I’ve reduced my costs in the last year nearly 90%. I’m recommending all doctors must provide full annual prescriptions available at trump pharmaceuticals. “I’ve had the same dose for 15 years, can I just get the prescription?” “I’ll let you know if I feel it needs an adjustment, thanks”
Although the “extra senior deduction” helped, Trump promised “no income taxes on social security”. Eighty-five percent of my social security had to be listed as income for income tax purposes last year.
What I need from my Social Security is more money in my check! I’m 77, I am unable to work, no tax on tips does nothin for me, neither does no tax on SS. I paid tax on 100% of every dollar I ever made during my working years… But the rich don’t…maybe above a certain number they shouldn’t pay the full amount, but they should pay something.
And my gas costs over $4/gal.

He said he promised and delivered NO Taxes on tips, overtime and Social security benefits & trolled the crowd to cheer for the one they liked best. His statement is not true , and only the legislative can change the tax codes like this. I am glad that any POTUS cannot control the tax codes or this would change every four years as they want to gain votes. Medicare went way up this year , benefits went way down . So much for no tax on Social Security , save a couple of dollars but not that much .
I am sick and tired of hearing “no tax on social security”. That is a big fat LIE. There is a modest $6,000 deduction. Two-thirds of my SS was still taxable income. Trump needs to stop the LIES. I am now totally against him because of his lies. NOTHING he has done has helped the economy. His bouncing tariffs raised prices that will never come down, his wars have raised gas prices that may drop a little, but never back to where they were, and everything is more expensive. He is a walking ego and a disaster.
