NFL Gives Fans ‘The Finger’ with Super Bowl Halftime Show Disgrace

The Seattle Seahawks drubbed the New England Patriots 29-13 to secure their second Super Bowl in franchise history on Sunday. But while Seattle’s stifling defense was the story of the game, the story of the evening was the halftime show from Puerto Rican rapper “Bad Bunny.”

When the NFL selected Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, to perform on the biggest stage in American sports, it drew plenty of eye rolling from conservatives who saw it as yet another instance of cringey virtue signaling from the league. Turning Point USA even put on a rival halftime show in protest headlined by Kid Rock, which nearly six million people watched instead of staying tuned to NBC for Bad Bunny.

But an estimated 125 million Americans still watched the NFL’s halftime show, and what they saw was more than just an insult and a disgrace. It was an attack on the unique American-ness of football, and by extension an assault on America itself. It was a political statement intended to discourage national pride at the very moment when it is beginning to reawaken.

Before dismissing that as hyperbole, consider how absurd it was for the NFL to ask Bad Bunny to perform in the first place. All of his songs are in Spanish, which most NFL fans and most Americans do not speak. As a viral video making the rounds online before the game showed, virtually none of the players in the Super Bowl could name even a single Bad Bunny song. His most popular demographic seems to be teenage Hispanic girls – not exactly the NFL’s target audience.

As commentator Allie Beth Stuckey put it in a post on X, “Doing an entire show at an iconic American event in a language most of the country does not understand is a humiliation ritual.”

That humiliation ritual started with Bad Bunny’s “resistance” moment at the Grammys earlier this month, when he declared “ICE Out” and “we’re not aliens” after winning an award. His outburst quickly put to rest any doubt that choosing a Hispanic artist to headline the Super Bowl at a time when hysterical opposition to enforcing immigration law is all the rage on the left was about politics and not entertainment.

(Notably, in a display of glaring hypocrisy, while he advocates for unrestricted mass immigration to the United States, Bad Bunny has passionately spoken out against the perceived “gentrification” of Puerto Rico and investors from off the island moving in to buy up property.)

The fact that the NFL chose Bad Bunny this year of all years was also an intentional choice to erode Americans’ sense of national identity. As the country approaches its 250th birthday, a league that actually cares about honoring its heritage as a uniquely American sport would have made every effort to choose a performer who reflects that. Instead, the NFL chose an artist who is most popular in foreign countries and sings in a foreign language.

The symbolism there should not be ignored. The message to Americans is this: “Your history is meaningless. Your country does not belong to you anymore, get over it.”

Then came the performance itself. While anyone who had been paying attention in the weeks leading up to the game should have known exactly what to expect, it was still jarring.

There was plenty of the usual left-wing debauchery, including a close-up shot of two men grinding on one another and dozens of scantily clad women performing dance routines that are more appropriate for a strip club rather than the biggest TV event of the year with tens of millions of wide-eyed children watching. Though most of those kids thankfully couldn’t understand a word that Bad Bunny was lip-syncing, his music is also notoriously explicit, sexualized, and violent. It is particularly demeaning toward women.

Just when it seemed like we might escape without any overt political statements, the “grand finale” of the show was Bad Bunny leading an army of backup dancers carrying foreign flags and saying “God bless America” – which he made clear means America the continent, not America the United States.

“But wait,” liberals will cry, “one of the dancers was carrying the American Flag!” Yes – and that makes it all the more denigrating. The message to Americans was that their own country’s flag is no more meaningful or important than any other country’s flag – just like citizens of any other country have an equal claim to America as someone whose family has been here for hundreds of years.

In other words, the NFL and Bad Bunny want us to believe, America does not belong to Americans alone, but to the entire world. Accordingly, the United States has no right to enforce its own borders or deport those who break its immigration laws.

The entire spectacle, from Bad Bunny’s Grammys incident through the final note of the halftime show over the weekend, was a massive middle finger from the NFL to its fans and, more than that, to the country as a whole. After years in which the right has made significant progress in shaming left-wing partisan politics out of American institutions, it was a reminder that woke ideology is still simmering beneath the surface, ready to burst out and continue its destructive path at the first opportunity.

I gave the NFL the finger a long time ago. Ever since that third rate quarterback I totally forgot his name knelt for the national anthem because he knew he was a third-rate quarterback and was going to get cut he wanted to be able to scream racism! Tim Tebow is an athlete to be proud of he stood up for Christianity and was run out of the league for it

I grew up a Green Bay Packers fan. I guit watching the NFL in 2011 and won’t until Roger Goodall is replaced as commissioner. The guy is an embarrassment to the country. He has no principles but the making of money. The NBA is no better. Both organizations should pack up and move to a country that better reflects their values because they sure aren’t America’s values.

I didn’t miss a thing as I watched the TPUSA ALL American Halftime Show. It was amazing and worth all the Hype that was happening before it. The National Felons League had gone to hell a long time ago when Kapernick was doing his kneeling Against the American Flag and the National Anthem.

I didn’t watch the Superbowl, but did view the shameful insult to America during this halftime display. I saw a bunch of foreign flags, people dressed in rags, prancing around in tall grass and sugar cane, singing in a foreign language. Then they claim that they are all Americans while openly rejecting true American culture. He has the audacity to say that love is more powerful than hate, which is true. But his actions clearly say he hates America and doesn’t love this country, like true patriots do.

That is the reason why I have stopped watching/ supporting the nfl. I did not watch the sb either. They are anti-American. I have stopped supporting them ever since they allowed the players to take a knee during the NATIONAL ANTHEM. And I have. Ot missed it at all.

The NFL, and football in general, lost me when the Commissioner was OK with the players disrespecting our national anthem and flag. It appears things have gotten worse. Maybe the NFL upper leadership should also be sent packing!!! Just saying!

Agree with you 100%! Shame on the NFL, they are paid too much and have so little intelligence and Patriotic players that they are not worth the expense of tickets to watch them.

My streaming source dropped NBC several months ago because the network wanted too much money. No great loss there. I notice this LOSER’s last name is Ocasio. Is he related to the idiot AOC? Roger Goodell needs to grow a pair of cojones [say it in Spanish so he’ll understand].

I gave the middle finger to the NFL and Butt Bunny by not watching at all, but I did tune in to the Turning Point USA All-American Halftime Show. It was representation of American and Christian values.

It’s time to start a new football league that can be viewed by conservatives and Patriots. Patriotic commercials for American goods. Athletes who LOVE America and all that it has traditionally promoted and embraced. Satan and his followers can have the current NFL, it’s owners, anti-American athletes and halftime performers – can’t watch it. We’ve already begun to split commerce throughout the country – two economies, one for liberals and the other for conservatives. Two entertainment industries.

Who chooses what we will be subjected to at halftime? The Super Bowl is the only football game I MIGHT be tempted to watch, but seems like for the past 5 or 6 years one could miss the halftime, and not miss ANYTHING. Yup. I watched the first half, then watched an old TCM movie (The Sundowners). Why DO the Dumba$$ocrat$ feel like they have to beat us over the head about all this political BS?

It’s all because of the militant Jay Z having control of the entertainment for the Super Bowl. It’s fine to speak your native language, but to perform at the biggest game of the year and most audience members cannot understand a word of what’s being said or sung is just ignorant. And the crotch grabbing. Does he have an itch. The dancers looked like sluts.

I swore off anything to do with the nfl when they started allowing blatant disrespect for this country. They’ve gone above and beyond that now. What puzzles me is why Americans are still watching this train wreck. No game on earth is worth stooping that low.

Pro sports went woke a long time ago. The mutant rodent performance last night and dancing satanic nuns in NL baseball shows you where their mind set is. Why anyone would still watch and support them is beyond me. Money talks, and if Americans stop caring about pro sports they might just get a clue. Once they start loosing fans and money, things will change.

Or … just keep on watching and complaining how woke and anti American their antics and message has become.

As a diehard lifelong sports fan, I watched the entire game and strictly out of pure curiosity watched the debacle that was the halftime show. It is very apparent that the NFL is big business and that they do not care one iota for me since I’m too old and in the “home stretch” They are not hiding the fact that their focus is in attracting a much younger audience that might stick around for the next fifty to sixty years. This is why so many rappers have been highlighted in the Super Bowl halftime show. There is no shame in wanting a younger fan base but why promote treating older fans as insignificant trash?

I was one of the viewers who switched off the NFL debacle in favor of watching Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show. It was pretty good and I hope they release the music on a CD. And more importantly, I didn’t have to be worried about being offended.

I see I missed absolutely nothing by not watching the game or HT show.
I had the USA Channel on watching the Olympics, then watched other Olympic events I had on DVR.
I know few of the Olympians are very hypocritical by wearing the uniform of an US athlete, then bad mouth the Country that gave them the right to live, practice and become the athlete they are. I’m glad the majority of these Olympians are there to win or do their best for themselves and this Country.

It never ceases to amaze me how the likes of the NFL have fallen off the cliff. It has been decades since I spent a dime on this outfit or any single game that has been played, never mine the “Stupid Bowl” and it’s absurd half-time venues. It is, as far as I am concerned time to give the NFL a “finger” of a different kind….lets call it the “BUD LIGHT” finger. Just boycott anything and everything NFL. NO hats, jerseys, cups, or shoes. NO spending on TV/Sattilite/cable/ et. al offerings. NO showing up at stadiums with expensive seats, food, drinks and trinkets. Just give them the old “heave ho.” for at least one season. Watch their revenues plummet. Watch their primma-donna players lag. If you MUST watch, do it at home on local, free stations. Any product that champions NFL for sales, cereal, beer, steak sauce,, whatever…..don’t buy it. Then, perhaps they will get the message….and when you are done with the NFL, move on to the rest of the big sports hawkers of baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer, golf and all the rest who have been abusing America and Americans. Just my suggestion…..something I already do pretty much across the board with any and all who think this country is a loss. Add to “the finger”, the boot, the big wave and see the outcome.

the ONLY WAY the NFL will get the message is if there is a VERY STEEP DECLINE in viewership of NFL games. As long as people keep watching the NFL will keep giving the viewers the big birdie finger

We didn’t watch the NFL halftime; in fact, we hardly watched the game. It was boring. I just wish I didn’t enjoy football so much; otherwise, I’d never watch another NFL game. It was an insult to everyone. BB isn’t even that talented. Vulgar, yes; talented, no? Watched Turning Point. The show bordered on an INSULT TO THE USA.

The NFL sold out a long time ago, with the stupid messaging, gold chains, taking a knee, sissy rules, long hair, wokeness, etc. This just more of the same. I used to be a season ticket holder for 20 + years and I couldn’t take the crap being force fed to us. I walked away. I urge everyone else to do the same and free yourselves.

If everyone who was “insulted” by the halftime show would simply turn off the NFL next season, the message would be heard. I doubt if that will ever happen. So the NFL will continue to choke U.S. with woke and Satan’s delight.

Since the leftwingers are so set on demanding such a horrible choice for entertainment at the 60th Super Bowl, I would never watch a super bowl because of their ideas of what entertainment should be. Whoever picks the entertainment performers should be FIRED. They have yet to pick an all-American entertainer that will perform their songs instead of making bad social comments. It is a disgrace.

The Super Bowl halftime show is produced by Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation. Since forming a partnership with the NFL in 2019, Roc Nation acts as the league’s ‘live music entertainment strategist’, selecting performers and producing the halftime shows. Jay-Z is married to Beyonce’. Any questions? Those two are a major players of the Hollywood/Entertainment elite LEFT that have a severe case of TDS. The NFL needs to break their deal with Roc Nation and subsequently Jay-Z and Beyonce’. Plain and simple. I did enjoy the TPUSA show! Thanks Kid!

I did not consider the game boring at all. It was a defensive game. A lot of records were set and for two fairly high scoring teams, neither scored a touchdown the first half. Both teams proved they had the right to be there. It was football at it’s finest. The half-time show did not distract form the game. It gave me time to smoke, get something to eat and use the rest room. We left the TV on but did not record it nor did anyone in our group watch the TV until both teams were lining up for kick off of the second half. I thought most of the commercials were good, especially the Clydesdales and Eagle one and the puppy one. The half time shows in the past were often shared with smoking, eating and the rest room – this year’s show in Spanish was insulting, in poor taste and not entertaining, it was definingly the worst call of the game.

What a shame more NFL spectators ( I refuse to call them American’s) watched the televised debacle half time show than the real Americans that watched the Turning Point alternative. Ever since Colin Kaepernick the first NFL player to take a knee during the national anthem was quickly dismissed by the average football fanatic the NFL owners knew that Patriotism is dead in America, and all that matters is to entertain the “sheeple”. Hey America, are you a patriot or a sheep. If you call yourself an American, don’t buy another ticket to any football game (collegiate games excluded)  , hat, T-shirt or anything supporting the NFL.
