FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—The House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government will hold a hearing on Feb. 10 to uncover how Sharia law is “contrary to America’s founding principles” and “may violate federal law and the Constitution,” The Daily Signal has learned.
At the hearing, titled “Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution,” witnesses and members will discuss “where, why, and how Islamic extremists are attempting to establish Sharia-based institutions in the U.S.,” a statement provided to The Daily Signal claimed.
Additionally, the hearing will discuss current proposed legislative reforms that would protect Americans from efforts to establish alternative, Sharia-based institutions.
“Most Americans are completely unaware that Sharia law is insidiously trying to take over our communities and undermine our Constitution and way of life,” subcommittee Chairman Chip Roy, R-Texas, told The Daily Signal. “In my home state of Texas, Dallas has become ground zero for the Islamification of America, and there are more mosques being built in Texas than in any other state in the union.”
“If we are not careful, America will fall just like what we’re seeing happen in London or Paris,” Roy added. “This hearing, which I am proud to lead, is an important first step in sounding the alarm to the American people about the threat Sharia law poses to America.”
Roy recently co-founded the Sharia Free America Caucus in Congress.
One of the focuses of the hearing will include the East Plano Islamic Center, or EPIC City for short.
In April 2025, researchers with the nonprofit Rise Align Ignite Reclaim, or RAIR for short, claimed the compound was “a deliberate blueprint for a self-contained Islamic community, built around Sharia principles and insulated from public oversight.”
The organization’s report drew the attention of lawmakers like Roy and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
“My constituents in Texas are constantly expressing their concern and asking what can be done about the rise of mass Islamic immigration in north Texas, including developments like the East Plano Islamic Center,” Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, a member of the subcommittee, said.
“If people come to America in search of a better life, they need to be prepared to assimilate to our culture, not impose third world ideals into our society,” Gill added.

Why do we have to have a House Subcommittee review all this? It’s a total waste of taxpayer money. The group that has presented this crap of a religion needs to be expelled from this country and never allowed to return again. The “imported” people there protest like the ones against ICE and they will tell you straight out that their mission is to “take over and make everything run by Sharia law”. We must stop it and have it protected and governed by law before it starts.
If we are not a country of the constitution, and are not a country of LAWS, we won’t be a country for long. Rule of LAW and no one is above the law!
Those that are more savvy than me, but I was under the understanding that a foreign government could not buy or own land in the USA. But now here we are fighting the China farm land purchases and the Muslim Sharia Law and setting up their own community with their law, not Law of the Land, United States of America. Isn’t that unconstitutional? They can have their own church, but not take over and have their own laws. Who would support and administer those laws?
Why are they here now? If they don’t support the laws of the U.S. are not happy then they need to go back to their own country to practice the laws of that land.
If I moved to their country wouldn’t I have to follow their laws? We do not carry individual laws from country to country.

We are a Christian nation. Islam is anti Christian and anti American. Muslims cannot swear an oath to the USA because they are not Christian which our country is founded on. Islam stated they have time, fighting America isn’t the answer. We’ll spread like a virus into all the countries without any resistant. Is anyone aware that there were several banks in the US that offered Sharia compliant banking before regulations were imposed? Anything that keeps this subject in the forefront is welcome, in my opinion.
