The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced a new partnership with the organization America 250 last week to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial. Through this partnership, the NYSE will support initiatives that promote America’s economic history and civic values leading up to July 4, 2026.
America 250 announced in a press release that the partnership will “highlight the role of entrepreneurship, free markets, and innovation in shaping the American story — while inspiring future generations to participate in the nation’s economic and civic life.” The NYSE will support initiatives that “elevate financial literacy, spotlight American companies and workers, and connect historical reflection with forward-looking conversations about economic opportunity.”
Former U.S. Treasurer and America 250 Chairwoman Rosa Rios praised the new partnership with the NYSE.
“America 250 is honored to partner with the New York Stock Exchange, an institution that reflects the dynamism and enduring strength of the American economy,” Rios said. “This partnership will help us tell a more complete story of our nation — one that recognizes how economic participation and innovation have empowered generations of Americans and will continue to shape the next 250 years.”
The collaboration between the two organizations will “culminate in NYSE’s participation in major America 250 milestones and events throughout 2026, offering Americans meaningful opportunities to reflect on the nation’s past and envision its future.” NYSE President Lynn Martin highlighted the significance of America 250’s efforts.
“For nearly two and a half centuries, the New York Stock Exchange has played a central role in America’s growth, prosperity and evolution,” Martin said. “As we approach this historic milestone, we are proud to partner with America 250 to celebrate the principles that have powered the world’s most dynamic economy — opportunity, resilience and a commitment to innovation — and continue to define our nation.”
America 250 is an organization comprised of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission and its nonprofit arm America250.org, Inc. Congress established the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission through legislation in 2016. America 250 is one of two federal efforts promoting and organizing the festivities this year – the other being the Trump administration’s Salute to America 250 Task Force.
While the task force is organized by President Donald Trump and his administration, America 250 is considered to have more bipartisan leadership. The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission is composed of numerous elected officials, including Republican Senators Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, as well as Democrat Senators Alex Padilla of California and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
The commission also has several members of the Trump administration, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
With the announcement of the NYSE now joining efforts to promote patriotism in America’s Semiquincentennial, America 250 has a new jolt of momentum as the countdown continues to July 4, 2026. This is no longer just a government project. The NYSE’s decision is paving the way for corporate America to openly celebrate the nation’s historical significance once again.
