Likely others on hearing the Windows 11 announcement a few years ago, did as I did, allow the rollout for a few months prior to making the change. Without noting specifics, I was glad I did.
I want to add that other readers may have just received the email I just did from LifeLock, that more than 200M users of Google, Microsoft, etc. may have had their personal data made available via a breach. Security as mentioned in the article is always an issue, but do these firms really protect users as best they can?
Switch to Ubuntu Linux with Libre Office. You’ll have a free, fully supported, faster and more efficient operation system and Libre Office does everything (and more) than MS Office. Did I mention it’s free? And since worldwide programmers and hackers support it’s open source architecture, you have little to no concerns with viruses, bugs, etc.
This reads like a an ad for my computer works but it doesn’t say it’s an advertisement at the top. So what is going on what is my computer works?

I have a friend that is still using Windows 8 and has NEVER had a problem. Another friend is still using Windows 7 and has NEVER had a problem. YES they use security offered by 3rd sources and they use VPN. Microsoft was often updated their program and without fail have always made the system more convoluted and more complicated to use. Windows 10 does all kind of thing you don’t want it to do. What used to take 2 clicks now takes 6 clicks. I can only imagine how awful Windows 11 will be. I’m going to ride this out. I’m betting 5 years from now my system will be operating better because there will be no Microsoft “upgrades” and supposed “support”!
For many reasons, I am sick of Microsoft. I did some research and found the following:
Libre Office is free software that replaces MS Office Work, Excel, PPoint, and Access. It looks and works just like MS. It is what I have used for the last few years.
Linux Mint is a free operating system that can replace Windows. I made a youTube video on how I installed it. Just go to uTube and search my name marty plecki to view the videos I make. Linux Mint is the operating system I have used for over a year now.
That’s why I switched my Windows 10 laptop to Linux. I have no intention of taking it to Windows again. Linux actually is better than Windows 11, is easier to use once you get accustomed to it.
Well my HP is 8.1 with WIN7 decktop shell. Computer been saying GOOGLE isnt supported for 3yrs now. I use duck-duck and have no prob. Keepin my fingers crossed.
My old laptop plays my old CDs so I’m keeping it. Just won’t go any more on the internet with it…
Windows 11 is horrible! Microsoft 365 e-mail is even worse.
I’m using windows 10 and hoping windows 12 will come out before windows 10 end of life in october.
I read that Microsoft would extend the updates for Windows 10 for one year (for a price).
