Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins on Monday announced that his department had canceled $178K in subscriptions to PoliticoPro, days after the White House pulled the United States Agency for International Development’s subscription.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt last week revealed that over $8 million taxpayer dollars went to “essentially subsidizing subscriptions to Politico on the taxpayer’s dime.”

Collins did not state when he discovered the funding for Politico, or how many employees had access to Politico’s services under the subscription. But the secretary indicated that the funding would go to Veterans health services instead.

“Ran across a $178,000 contract VA had with Politico and we promptly canceled it,” Collins said in a post on X. “That money can be better spent on Veterans health care!”

It’s unclear for how long the subscription dates back, but according to USASpending.gov, Politico LLC received $8.2 million in funding from the USAID from 237 transactions. The Associated Press and The New York Times were also paid for subscription services.

Any Veterans’ Affairs employee (or any other government employee for that matter) who wants a Politico subscription should PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES and leave American taxpayers alone.

Corruption in all the agencies is a bottomless pit. This is manure piled up for years with no one ever thinking of clean up, surely there was a “someone” in charge Had this been happening in a business there would be prison terms.

I wasn’t allowed to even check my Yahoo email or go on Facebook on a government computer when I was active duty. “For Official Use Only” I was told!

Those who would waste money on Politico subscriptions are delightfully stupid, and provide meaningful workplace humor. They provide a vital distraction that will often be sorely missed, in the absence of fodder as “worthy” as Politico articles.

As a veteran, I am outraged this they were spending this money on THAT. Glad the VA Secretary canceled the $178k, but what about that $8.2 million?

Unfortunately, this just underscores how many federal employees have been Wokified and it is SOOOO hard to fire a federal employee. 200,000 VA employees were exempted form the deferred resignation program? So, how do we get rid of them now?

Absolutely no chain of custody. Retards.
