Leftists Deploy Civil Unrest in Last-Ditch Effort to Prevent Roe v. Wade Reversal

As the Supreme Court prepares to issue a landmark decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, some on the left are threatening civil unrest.

On Monday, June 13th, the Supreme Court is set to release more decisions, one of which potentially being in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Barring the justices altering their draft opinions in the case that were leaked last month, the ruling is likely to reverse the precedent established by Roe v. Wade in 1973. As a result, leftist activists have extensive plans to organize in Washington, D.C. Specifically, the radical group “Shut Down D.C.” is aiming to shut down the Supreme Court on Monday. By blocking all vehicular entrances to the area and implementing targeted blockades, the group intends to “create a decision dilemma, presenting the Court, Congress, and law enforcement (and political leaders that oversee them) with three unacceptable (to them) options.” The group claims that any intervention from the police will “continue to escalate the crisis in democracy.”

The threat to shut down the Supreme Court on Monday comes after large groups have continuously organized outside of the private homes of multiple Supreme Court justices. The protests were part of a clear effort to directly influence the decisions of the justices, which is prohibited under federal law. 18 U.S. Code § 1507 forbids “interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence.” Despite this fact, none of the radical leftists who participated in obviously illicit demonstrations have been arrested. 

Extreme responses to the leaked draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization have been frequently encouraged by prominent Democrats. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced that the Biden administration supported protests at the homes of Supreme Court Justices by saying, “I know that there’s an outrage right now, I guess, about protests that have been peaceful to date. And we certainly do continue to encourage that. Outside judges’ homes. And that’s the President’s position.” After Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot learned that Roe v. Wade may be overturned, she issued a “call to arms”. To quote Lightfoot, “The Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms. We will not surrender our rights without a fight—a fight to victory!” Joe Biden recently went as far as to predict a “mini-revolution” in the event that Roe v. Wade is overturned. According to Biden, “I don’t think the country will stand for it. If in fact the decision comes down the way it does, and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s going to cause a mini-revolution.” Finally, back in 2020, Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer explicitly threatened Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch by name. As Schumer stated, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Unsurprisingly, radical sentiments from Democrat leaders have caused radical action to take place. On Wednesday, a California man armed with a gun, pepper spray, and a knife was arrested near Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home in Maryland. The man, Nicholas John Roske, had detailed plans to assassinate Kavanaugh due to his opinions on abortion and the Second Amendment. Sadly, a recent poll suggests that this may not be the only violent incident against conservative political figures that will soon take place in America. According to a survey from the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center, a whopping forty-four percent of “younger Democratic men” support “assassinating a politician who is harming the country or our democracy.”

To make matters worse, Democrats in the House of Representatives recently stalled a bipartisan effort to provide further security to members of the Supreme Court and their families. On Wednesday, Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat allies blocked a vote on S. 4160. The bill would provide Supreme Court Justices and their family members with “security-related authorities equivalent to the legislative and executive branches.” On Thursday, Pelosi downplayed safety concerns the justices likely possess after the assassination attempt against Justice Kavanaugh by insisting, “The justices are protected…nobody is in danger.” It should be noted that Pelosi’s decision to delay the bill’s passage came in spite of the fact that it passed via unanimous consent in the Senate last month. 

House Democrats are refusing to provide necessary protections to members of the Supreme Court in a timely manner while simultaneously galvanizing supporters into organizing for extreme activities. With the safety of the Supreme Court Justices under threat, all Americans should be praying for the justices to be safeguarded and for their opinions to remain unaffected by the leftist drivel.
