A recent poll shows a slight majority view the word “woke” favorably though more find being called “woke” insulting than a compliment. What is your view on this term?

Just because someone decides to make up a word (either side) does not mean we alter the English language. If it is not already there, leave it alone!

Liberals and the “woke” movement, over recent years, have hijacked once favorable, well-meaning words into weapons to push others to share their political/social views. Once people realized what has been done, the terms become pejoratives. George Orwell was a prophet.

Woke means trying to be politically correct to the extreme. Drag queens in elementary schools, pornography in school libraries, shouting down people who have a different viewpoint, cowtowing to the radical minority, making sure all commercials include a mixed race family or a gay couple. What ever happened to normalcy?

Woke means the opposite. I find most that are Woke are closed minded & judgemental. They think others views are below them.

‘Wokeness’, is very simply ‘Wickedness according to Principles of truth of th Bible. It’s rooted in ‘bitterness’, that seeks dominion and THEFT (of goods, position, and money—power) through selling victimhood as a tool of extortion. ” ..Be careful lest a root-of-bitterness spring up WHICH DEFILES MANY.”…

being woke is equated with being evil in my book. I am very proud of my country and do not consider it a racist country. Where else can these people who think they are woke go to make money as they do here in America.

Woke is a far left communist agenda being forced upon us as a way to control our minds and life. It is causing extreme violence and hatred to those who oppose that insanity of woke mindset.

WOKE means willingly overlooking known evil according to my friend, and I agree.

I see the term “being woke” as meaning the woke person is willing to follow blindly the crowd that is the loudest and/or most violent because of two things. One, the desire to belong to a “tribal group”. Like the virtue signaling people who stand back and yell with the crowd when they have little idea what they are yelling about and don’t really care. They just want to belong. Or two, the fear of what punishment the “tribal group” might inflict upon them for not blindly following.
Many Germans put swastikas in their windows not because they believed but because of fear. Very much like BLM signs in store windows in the hope their building wouldn’t be looted and burned. Though many blindly followed the Nazi lines simply because they loved the feeling of belonging to a powerful group that let them bully weaker groups. People love to feel powerful and become drunk on that feeling. Then herd mentality takes over and they do horrible things they would never have thought themselves capable of doing. But after repeatedly doing and saying these awful things, they no longer see them a awful. Many will come to 100% believe that no matter how vicious they act it’s all for the greater good. These are the woke.

WOKE, GAY, PRIDE. Remember when those were positive words that had nothing to do with politics and “self identification”? Remember when the swastika was a “Christian symbol of Christ’s Cross? Remember when the “rainbow” was a beautiful sight? Think of all the words and signs that have been destroyed just because mentally deranged “individuals” have to push their agendas on the rest of us. How sad!

Woke is a Marxist technique to manipulate the masses. Put a label on groups and then characterize them as righteous versus evil; oppressor vs victim. It is hateful and divisional. CRT is a great example. Critical Theory is a fundamental Marist ideology. Karl Marx used it effectively with things like Russia’s economic and class systems turning it Communist. America does not have the same class system where any person can work to make a much better life for themselves… the American Dream. So they have taken the same principles of Critical Theory and applied it to cultural issues… gender, race, ethnic, religious, media, Arts, etc.
Check out “critical theory” “Frankfurt school”.
