Which comes closest to how you assess the JD Vance vs. Tim Walz vice presidential debate? No hits, no home runs, no errors. Neither advanced the ball much nor did anything to hurt himself. Walz won. He made relevant points about his tenure as MN governor and tied them to the campaign. Vance won hands down. He was cool, calm, and collected with a superior grasp of policy. Edge to Vance, but not a slam dunk. Walz appeared nervous. Vance looked and sounded presidential. I watched none or too little to be able to say. Didn’t get much out of this joint campaign appearance (a/k/a debate).
Walz was a nervous knucklehead and Vance was more polished. Neither did anything to damage their running mate so from that perspective, both sides can claim victory.
